Good Morning All,

Friday I did ride my bike to WW then took my family to the "Village" so DN could ride the train. It was fun but I just don't get my sister some times. It was OK to let the 6 yo push the stroller with the 3 day old baby in it, but I wouldn't have let him get so far ahead all the time :?: Oh well not my problem. Went to knitting class and finished my first sock, the second is about 2/3 done :D I was hoping to get them done for my birthday today so I could wear them since they're my present from DH (well the class and supplies) but no luck. Oh well, I'll wear them this week. Did pretty well eating yesterday, which is unusual Sat is my non-core day (I try to eat reasonably just not necessarily core).

You might notice I changed my exercise challenge. I figure it's mid-Oct summer is really over. Although I may get in a couple more rides before I bring the bike in and put it on the trainer. I totaled 257 miles for the year which is about 1/2 my original 500 mile goal, but considering all that's happened since I set the goal I'm not too disappointed.

Maryanne - Hope you have fun at church and brunch. I think I'm going to be a bum and skip again. I really need to go back :o

Rhonda - :yay: On getting back on core. How was the wedding? And I was the one mentioning my dog. We tried the glucosomine (sp?) and it didn't help much, he's been on arthritis drugs for about 2.5 years and it helped a lot he could still go up and down stairs until just last month, and then he still does the few to get into the house just not the ones to get off the main floor (unless you have food of course, that overcomes all pain).

Well my tummy is growling, so I need to go get breakfast. Have a great day everyone.

Got back from my brunch and I'm so proud of myself not going over board with my eating. It was a buffet with all sorts of hot & cold foods.

I went for strawberries,2 sl reg bacon[2],2 sausages[6] 1sl of ham & cheese onion & pepper omelet strawberries & whipped topping decaf coffee with H&H for dessert. So the whole brunch just cost me 8 pts.

What a temptation but than again, I proofed them wrong,I could do this.

RHONDA-Good Luck:lucky: on your challenge tonight, but if I could do this at my brunch I know you can:yes: watch what your doi9ng also.

TRACIE-Wow your certainly cooking:stir: up a storm. But now you all set for the week of core foods & menus. Good :bravo: for you planning ahead.

DONNA-Didn't know you were a knitter. I knitting a scarf with a multi black, gray white combo ribbon yard for my black leather jacket. I need some thing to keep my neck warm as it open on the neck.

Oh 257 miles is excellent mileage, your on a roll with your exercising, wish I could say that. You been going though so much I'm sure the Lord doesn't mind one more day. Take care

Have a great Sunday, I going to read the paper and watch a little tv.

Hi All:

Donna, I used to be quite the knitter. Then I injured my neck and that affects my dexterity in my right hand's fingers. I don't think I can knit again...but who knows, I might try. Congrats on your socks.....sorry to hear the glucosamine didn't help your dog.

Maryann, the wedding was last night and I did OK. I had one glass of red wine and one glass of champagne. The appetizers were good, and I avoided the pastry ones. We left before the cake was served (it was getting late for us), so I didn't have to face that.

DH and I are finishing up the outside painting: there won't be too many more warm enough days. He's doing the window trim and back stoop; I've done the front porch, and have another coat to put on. Neither of us enjoys painting, but it's getting done.

Tracie, congrats on doing well at the buffet.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

Rhonda

Hi Everybody!

Finally get to sit down. I cleaned my fridge and freezer, made some polenta chips, salsa, chocolate & lemon pudding, got a turkey breast cooking and some pork loin chops marinading for tomorrow's dinner. Plus been doing laundry in between. So I am really set for awhile.

Donna, wtg on the socks. I used to knit and crochet a lot, but haven't done much of it in awhile. I really should start again as I really loved my dishclothes I used to make, but they are worn and gone. I might just pick it up again. I can't remember if I knitted them or crocheted them. I have a few patterns. I also liked making those scarves with the fuzzy yarn. They are so easy and they look so nice.

Rhonda, it wasn't me at the buffet, it was Maryanne. I kept thinking, when did I go to a buffet?? Then I read Maryanne's post. At work they brought in treats for all the October birthdays, and I didn't participate because I didn't want the temptation. They had all kinds of goodies but I stayed away. That's the closest I've come to a buffet in quite some time.

My hot tub is finally working. We made sure the heater worked, and it did, so we put this cleaner stuff in it which cleans out all the lines as it has sat for so long, who knows what was in them. All kinds of gunk came out. We drained it and my dbf is going to wipe it down, refill it and crank it up. We should be hot tubbing it tomorrow night! So excited.

Well, I'm just going to relax the rest of the day, other than a little more laundry I need to finish up.

By the way, Donna, I noticed you posted a recipe for salsa, and by the vinegar, it says "1 c. for BWB".
What is BWB???

I prefer my salsa a little sweet, so next time I run out, I am going to give this one a try replacing the sugar with splenda.

Ugh,

We went out for sushi for my birthday and I ate too much, now I have that overfull feeling. Oh well it was nice to go out :D.

Tracie - BWB is boiling water bath, for canning. It makes about 7 pints so I canned it, and have salsa for the year (we don't eat a lot of salsa here). This one was a little sweet for me, I think it was the sugar and apple cider vinegar that was just over the top for me, next time I'll try a not so sweet vinegar.

Well, Tracie, no wonder you didn't go out for a buffet...you were in the hot tub!
