Core Chat - Sept 29 to October 4th
New pages!!
|
Good morning! Another week - and its a new month this week!! Quiet week around here - not too many food challenges. I have an off site meeting on Wed with lunch. It should be OK, they usually have salads and healthy choices. Of course there are tons of cookies and pastries for snacks. I'll stick with the fruit.
I found another new breakfast idea - found the recipe on I think Heather's site. Its a no cook oatmeal. You mix 1 cup plain ff yogurt with 1 cup rolled oats (1 to 1 ratio -- I actually did 3/4 cup of each). Let sit in the fridge overnight, then its ready the next morning. I was skeptical making it -- very odd when you mix it up. When I made it last night I added vanilla and splenda. Then I put frozen blue berries on the top. It was actually very good. Not like a yougurt and fruit, very thick and filling. The berries were a nice addition. Tech - congrats on the loss. I hope DH continues to get better. His sick feeling probably had to do with what he ate. If thats the first thing he had in a few days.......Maybe more bland things to start. Well, got to get some things done. BBL |
Good Morning all:
I've changed my goal to something I think I have a chance of doing: one pound a week. It means better food choices, giving up on wine being a fruit :(, and more exercise :coach: Yesterday was quite the food challenge for me, but I was able to stick to mostly protein, veggies and fruit. That means that while everyone else was eating a hearty meal last night I had soup and salad. The only soup available was cream of mushroom, but it had to be a better choice than white pasta! Congratulations, Donna, for your successful loss. Your poor hubby...and YOU too! We're leaving the end of this week for NM and Texas. We'll have someone stay in the house with the doggie Jake and off we'll go. (Sandra, I'll send you our schedule.) Rhonda |
Hey y'all
I'm reading all of the posts since Friday; you guys have been busy. Nancy-I had you on my mind yesterday, and I look at the board today and there you are! I'm so glad to hear from you. Good news, you still have a chance to beat me to 130. I've been at 131-133 for about two months. I'm frustrated, but still not exercising, so it's in my control. Barb-turning the heel is not as hard as it looks. Once you do it in class, you will have it down. I hope DH perks up soon! Keep knitting, it's therapeutic! BBL |
Hi Ladies :)
I must have caught the sleepless night disease.Had it bad tossing & turning and having hot flashes that I had to kick the covers off. Woke up late this morning and now everything I planned for the day is going to be either put on hold or done later on this afternoon. One thing I'm happy about that I sneaked peaked on the scale and I'm down a couple of pounds since I started the WP on Friday.Hopefully it will go down further by Thursday's W-I,and if that the case I will have to watch my grain carbs now & in the future. PAULA-You're right about the Joseph Brand I for got about them when on WW.I used to use them when I was low carbing. DONNA-Sorry to hear your DH is nauseous and doesn't want to eat. May they could give him ensure .Leo was now that until he got his appetite back. Good News about your weight loss You're doing great even under this stress of having your DH in the hospital. SAMMI-That happens to all of us from time to time. Weekend are the worse for me also, even though I retired and home all the time. Its the TV that I watch with mindless eating and snacking. I beat that a couple of weeks ago by having raw veggies with ff dress on them while watching the TV. I started to eat soy beef & chix from Morning Star meal starters and put ketchup on them for taste. I found protein satisfying the hunger mode. Have to go get my dinner started Hugs:) __________________ |
Rhonda, I'll be watching for your schedule. It'll be good to see you both. Your goal sounds very doable. Just think how you'll look and be feeling by Christmas.
Paula, that breakfast recipe sounds good. Thanks for sharing. We just hanging out here at home today. Curtis called the man who's going to do the dirtwork on our yard. I will be so glad to get some flowerbeds. Eating's going well. Tomorrow is wi. That's about all I know right now. |
Coco just posted on last week's board..might want to catch up with her. I don't have her private e address; maybe she'll catch up.
Sorry you didn't sleep well Maryann. Vickie and I "hear you!" Hope all are well. I had a good day, staying on Core and walked a lot. Rhonda |
Good Morning Ladies:)
Going to make this fast as I have to dress Leo port wound before we go for chemo this morning. Well come back later and read what went on with you gals yesterday. Hugs:) |
Morning all:
Maryann, I hope it is going well with the dressing changes. I remember when I was doing that for my late husband. We were both so nervous at first: terrified of infection! But, that was never the problem, of course. I have an easy day today, thank goodness. I'm cleaning up around my messy desk, going to work, and sneaking out for a movie. We're going to go see Appaloosa with a friend. Have a great OP day! Rhonda |
Finally back!
Hello everyone. I used to be a member of the WW board when I got to goal last time.
This time around, I'm finding much more success with Core and am half-way to goal. I am in need of a pep-talk though. I just got back from a business trip, and although I walked, I didn't have much control over my eating. So I headed to one of my favorite meetings this morning and found that my Leader has quit. It was a HUGE blow. She was on core and we had so many similarities that she always made me feel like I could make it. So, Friday is my usual weigh-in and I'm not fond of that leader. So I'm just bummed. Other than re-joining this site, I've jotted down my short term goals and need to head to the grocery store to restock my refridge. Anyway...HELLO!!! |
Hi Everyone
Dummy me. See I posted on the wrong thread again. I forgot it was time to do a new one. Not much going on here. Kinda dreary. And trying to rain. And cool. Has anyone tried the Progresso WW soups. Hubby and I had some today. I had a beef one. For the whole can it was 3 points. I am not sure that it is core. So counting points. Will have to check and see if it has a check mark on it or not. Anyway. It wasnt too bad. Need to go to the store and get some veggies and make the WW soup. This would be a good week for it. Well I need to go check on some towels in the dryer. Will be back later. Hope everyone has a great day. coco |
:welcome: Cuba. You're at the right place. Just hang in there with meetings. They are important.
I went to WW this AM and was up a pound. This week I'll do better with portion control. I'm not worried. I know I need to focus on doing program. It would have been nice to have had a loss--but life goes on. |
Hi Ladies:)
Got home from the chemo center around 2PM another dinner that was late again. I put the dressing on Leo and than we left for the center. Nothing new I'm just tired, of the long hours spent at the center, but being with Leo is better than staying home and wondering what going on. SANDRA-We always ask the lawn keepers to trim our flowering bushes in the front garden. The does it for a reasonable price. The weeding is not necessary as we have periwinkle ground covering surrounding the bushes. Sorry about your gain, did you watch your sodium intake, thats what alway does me in. RHONDA-Got my sleep last night but now I extremely tire like I posted above.Exercised every day but not with walking just biking, stepping ,biking. Thanks the dress went fine, they only thing I forgot to do was to take off the crazy glue that they use now a days for incisions. The nurse took care of that and than all went well. CUBA-Welcome to the board I know the core plan is butter than the flex,so I think. I right now at a plateau of some kind so this week I doing the Wendie Plan as lost 2 lb so far. My W-I its this Thursday. Than this Friday I back to the Core Plan. I know what you mean its very hard to get that special Leader,I'm lucky I have one of those, even if she on the flex plan. COCO-We all make mistakes now & than glad that you found us. I used to use the Progresso soups that have the WW point systems on them but to me they're to much sodium in them for me. I found that Campbell Select Harvest Lite has 1/2 the sodium in them. I have a Italian-Style Veggie soup that has 480 mg sodium, where Progresso has 740MG. Have a nice afternoon Hugs :) |
:welcome2: CUBALIBRE7
BEACHBUM know what you mean about sitting around in the hospital. It makes you more tired then if you had worked. Glad hubby got along with chemo. And good job with the dressing. I know the first few times doing it can be scary. I didnt pay much attention to the salt in the progresso soup. Just seen it was WW. I know I will have to watch it. As I tend to retain fluid easy. So maybe having it today. I will have it out of my system by Monday. I will have to check out the soup you said. How many points or is it core. ONTARGET Sorry about the gain. But I know you will get focused and have it off next week. TEJAS how was your movie. I havent been to a movie in a good while. In fact I am not even sure what movie I saw last. Will have to ask son. Because he went with me. BLESSEDWITHSARAH I will have to get some ff plain yogurt and try the oat thing. I am not really crazy about the ff plain. I sometimes get some ff vanilla yogurt and then just count the points. SLOANIE Hope you had a great day. Well I am going to get off here for now. Hope everyone has a nice relaxing evening. coco |
Hi everyone. Had a good day today. Did errands, and had a dr appt. I met my sister for lunch - got a chopped veggie salad with grilled chicken, topped it with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was an italian restaurant which now serves WW pasta! I'm thrilled -- its the first one I've found in my area that has it. The vinegar was a very good blasmaic - thick and sweet. I was actually dipping my chicken in it! Then for dinner I made a beef stew. It was all core except for a bit of corn startch I used to thicken it. 2TB is one point.
I have my no cook oatmeal in the fridge and DD and DH's lunches ready for tomorrow as well. I have an off site meeting tomorrow, so I'll miss our first WI. I'm going to write down my weight tomorrow am -- dressed for work. I did that last week so I know where I was on my scale, it was even with the WW scale. The lunch tomorrow, I hope, will have some healthy choices. Worse case I eat the insides of a few sandwiches. CUBA welcome to the board. I love my leader -- she has been doing at work sessions for a few years now. I think this is our 10th one. If you don't like the new leader, can you find another meeting? It may be worth shopping around meetings to see if you can find a better fit. Or maybe give the new leader another try -- could have been an off week. Maryann, keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. How many more weeks to go for Leo? Coco, I agree with Maryann, try the Campbell's new Select soups. I like them better than Progresso. But for either one, as long as there isn't any pasta (as it would be white pasta) and its not creamy it should be core. I usually get tomato, chicken or beef barley, lentil, veggie. Really any kind without pasta -- if it has potato be sure to count that as your one serving a day. I have a few cans at work as a quick go to lunch if I need it. HTH. Sandra, don't let the gain get you down. You had a fabulous loss last week. Even with the gain, you've done great in 2 weeks. Have you been writing down what you eat? Maybe do that for a few days to get back in control. I do much better when I log things into the etools. Well, got to get going. Have a good night. |
Maryann, guess I'll be the weedkeeper. Actually, I love working in the yard. Guess I inherited that from my grandmother. I didn't watch my salt intake at all. I also ate large servings. Today's been better. Thank you for mentioning salt. I hadn't paid any attention to it at all but will now.
Paula, I've just been journaling here. This week I'm doing better at keeping track of my WPA's. Your lunch sounds yummy. And ww pasta! That's wonderful. |
Just updating my menu planner from yesterday using the etools. For those wine drinkers -- 1 glass is 2 pts, but 2 glasses is 3.5. For each additional glass the pts are 1.5........ Good to know!
Well, I think I lost about 2 pds this week. I'm not going to update my ticker until I have an official wi next week, but I am going to write down what the scale said this morning. Gotta run.. |
Hi Everyone,
Just popping in really quick before I get some stuff done and head into the hospital. DH seems to be doing better, with a few exceptions (ie he can't pee and the wound is draining puss). He's getting around better and finally eating something. We still haven't seen the surgeon, just the resident and fellow and we have no idea when their planning on sending him home or what's going on. I'm going to call the dr's office when I get done here and try to nail down a time for them to come meet with us because it's been 7 days and this is ridiculous. Hopefully I don't loose my temper and make things worse. Sorry I'm venting, but I figure I need to get it out of my system before I call them. :^: WW wise things have been so-so. Not as bad as I thought but not as good as last week. Hopefully things will get better soon. Sorry again. Have a great day everyone. -Tech |
Thanks for the warm welcome .
Yesterday I did my grocery shopping and am on program this morning. I'm heading down for lunch now which is soup that I make at home and freeze. That will curb my stomach growling for now. I have such trouble with lunch. I've never been a sandwich person, and really enjoy a "meal". The trouble is that I cook every meal for my family (breakfast, lunch AND dinner). Doing something for lunch for myself gets overwhelming and I get discouraged. So what happens...I put it off and then before I know it...I'm STARVING! I am going to my Friday meeting, but won't weigh-in. That is for my personal psyche. It helps keep me motivated to work hard the coming week. I know being on business left me with some poor choices and needing the additional time to get my kitchen back in order also lends itself to poor choices. So, by going to the meeting and not weighing in, my mental state stays intact and I can remain motivated. Maryann - What is Wendie Plan? |
Hi Ladies:)
Got a late start again this morning, but I did manage to go walking along the beach.Love:love: it when it just me an the gulls around with the sound:listen: of the surf hitting the rocks along the shore. What more can you have. COCO-Usually I take a book or something to keep me occupied, but we thought that it was a 1/2 hrs treatment but it was longer as we had a rest period the week before. The soup that I told you about is called Campbell's Select Harvest The Light version has 0 WW Point value [because it has 50 cal. per cup],on the Italian-style vegetable soup.Leo's lite Maryland-style crab soup is 1 point value as its 80cal per cup. What we like about the soups the sodium is is only 490 compare to others company's where theres 780 mg. PAULA-Thanks:thanks: for your prayers & good thoughts. Leo last chemo treatment is gong to be sometime after his cat scan Oct 14th. Hopefully the cancer is gone by then Crossing :crossed:my fingers and saying lots of prayers, thats the case. Big Congrats:carrot: on your 2 lb weight loss. According to my scale I lost 2 lbs also but I'll make sure at tomorrow's W-I. SANDRA-See I just the opposite I hate weeding and my periwinkle ground cover chokes most of the weeds as they are crawlers. I also have Rosa Rogosas that like to crawl around my bushes bit I do keep an eye on them as they really like to take over. My BIG BIG problem with weight loss is the sodium I try to buy no salt canned veggies & soups other wise I blow up like blimp. DONNA-VENT:tantrum: ALL YOU WANT,you're among friends. Sending some more[[[[ prayers]]]] that you get an answer from the doctor real soon.Hope you DH is not in pain, isn't there something they can do,to give him fluid to make him urinate. CUBA-Thats wonderful that your cook for your whole family but NONO:no: you must be able to cook for yourself also.Don't skip meals as that only makes you hunger the next meal or even before the meals. You must take time for yourself to succeed on any program. Why don't you want to W-I while you at your meeting???? The Wendie plan follows the point system of WW flex plan. I'll see if I can find it for you. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99187 Have a great afternoon. Hugs :) |
Hi CoCo!
I'm new here, just posted my COREporate profile. Looking forward to talking with everyone! Anywho...My DB eats the Zero Point Progresso Soups all the time, and has now got me eating them for lunch! We wonder about them all the time. Some of them have pasta in it, but its zero points, so we eat or Carb at night after the gym. We can't figure out if they are core or not. Please let me know if you find out! Thanks! Steph |
Hi there. We're staying home to celebrate Curtis' birthday. I made him an "almost" core coconut pie. I used sf/ff van pudding but added coconut and a pie shell. We could have done worse. We were talking about that cake we gave away. We're still glad we did.
:welcome: Steph. Maryann, I'm going to go google Rosa Rogosas. I'm wondering if they'd survive the Texas heat. |
Steph, check the serving sizes. It may be 0 for one serving but a can is 2 servings. It may be a point or two.
Cuba, I cook on Sunday and have my lunches ready for the week. I generally have a few in the freezer to grab. Some thing I like to have that freeze well are pasta and veggie/sauce dishes, home made core soups, salsa chicken, smothered chicken and barley. Check out the core recipes here. There are quite a few things you could prepare and put into containers for the week. I'm assuming you have access to a microwave. If not, try some cold core salads --- pasta salads, coleslaws, couscouse type things. This week I'm eating canned soups with a cold couscous salad. For soup, as long as it not cream based without pasta it should be core. Check the ingredients. But you safe with lentil, barley and veggie type canned soups. Not much time to post right now, bbl. |
:welcome2: to Cuba and Steph!
 everybody. We're headed out early tomorrow, leaving doggie and sitter to hold the fort. I talk to all next week late. Here I come, Sandra, ready or not! Rhonda |
:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot: :carrot: :carrot:
:woohoo: Rhonda's coming!!!!!! (Can you tell I'm excited?) For those of you who don't know, Rhonda and I are cousins and don't get to see each other nearly enough. I'm sooooooo glad she's coming!! |
Hi Ladies:)
Lost :carrot:2-lbs at W-I :carrot:this morning. Was so happy to see the scale moving downward again. I think for now on I'm going to keep my grain carbs low.Even though I was on the Wendie plan for one week,I'm going back to core but like I said before going to eat my grain carbs to a minimum. SANDRA-I don't know if the Rosa Rogosas will grow of Texas. I think that like cool weather,as they grown like weeds along the beaches.Belated Happy :woo:Birthday to Curtis,So you went on the flex plan having coconut pie,you go back to the core today and you'll be fine. STEPH-Welcome:welcome2: to the board. I like Progresso soup but find they have to much sodium in a cup of soup.I have to watch my sodium intake so thats the reason I switched to Campbell's Select harvest. I think they're allowed on the flex plan not to sure about the core. PAULA- have a nice day,we look like were going to get showers as the dark clouds are passing by making the very dark outside. We had down pours this morning. RHONDA-Have a safe:yes: trip, and enjoy each others company. The cousins are re uniting,OHNO!! are our ears:listen: going to burn, talking about us????:D:D Have a wonderful time, you two.enjoy Hugs :) |
Maryann, I think you're right about them. What I found on the net indicated they would not do well in Zone 8. What Zone are you living in?
Congragulations!! :woohoo: :woohoo: That's a fantastic loss. You're on your way now for sure. The guys are here today spreading topsoil as well as gravel. Our place is shaping up. We're working hard to make it look as good as possible for when Rhonda and Doyle get here next week. The condo is ready for them--and so are we. Definitely!! |
Good Morning,
Well DH came home yesterday and I'm now sure why I went to engineering school not nursing. Actually it's not to bad. I think it's way worse than he thought it was going to be, but I was around when my mom had her hysterectomy and knew abdominal surgery is a b***h to recover from. His brother is supposed to come so I can go to WW and run some errands. He's a nurse part time and a firefighter, so I'm hoping he'll help DH shower and then repack his dressings. On a good note even thou I fell off the wagon the latter half of this week, when I weighed in this morning I'm down 2 lbs (I've been tracking my scale on these boards, ww's is usually the same just 1 lb higher than mine). I guess stress is a good calorie burner :^: Maryanne - Looks like I'm going to be eating like you, with my big meal mid day. At least as long as he has the ostomy. They recommend that to help keep the bag emptier at night. As for peeing, it's apparently a problem with the bladder nerves and not uncommon with this type of surgery. The dr says that in all the cases he's done it's never been permanent, so we're just in a waiting game right now, while he wears another bag. Sandra - have fun with Rhonda :D :D :D I'll be joining you back on the menu page next week. Although I'm going to have to do something I swore I'd never do, cook 2 meals. At least the starch, they don't want dh eating whole grains for a while until the ostomy settles. Sloan - I've finished the cuff on the first sock and started the second while I wait for class to learn the next step. It's pretty fun and gave my hands something to do this last week at the hospital. It also drew a lot of attention apparently not to many visitors knit there. Paula - Congrats on those unofficial 2 lbs. Hope your offsite meeting went well. Rhonda - you probably won't see this but have a great trip. Cuba and Steph - Welcome!!!! Well I should go get ready for the day. Have a great one everyone. -Tech |
Good Morning Ladies:)
Nothing new, I going to see if I can get some walking done today. Was up late last night and I lacking my ZZZZZ's again. So maybe the fresh sea air will wake me up. SANDRA-I have no idea what zone I'm in,but Leo thinks that we are in zone 6 or 7. Thanks for the congrats I guess I found what I have to do by watching my grain carb intake. DONNA-Glad to know that your BIL is stopping over to give you a break. You need to take care of yourself also.Big Congrats :carrot: on your 2 lb loss:carrot: thats fantastic after all you went though. I find that eating my big meal at noon helps me with the full feeling at night time, and I think it much healthier, having a empty stomach as night. I'm sure your doctor is correct saying that the frequent urination will reside,so don't worry about that OK. Take care, still praying your you guys Hugs :) |
No weight loss this week , but last time I was good at core it took
awhile to see results. I have tonight til Sunday noon all by myself!!!!!:carrot: That never happens but H and kids are all off in different directions. I am sleeping in /watching chic flicks/eating take out and resting in my nice quiet house. :dancer: 16 year old has a cold and I am praying he will feel like going on the church retreat or my plans are shot. |
Just woke up from a nap, DH is still sleeping, I need to get dinner started. It felt really good going for a bike ride, unfortunately BIL had to leave before I got home (he got volunteered at is kid's school) and dh had a mild panic, so I didn't get as much done as I wanted (or ride as far). But my mom (a retired nurse) is coming by in the morning so I can go to knitting class, I'll run my errands after while she's here.
Nancy - Have a great weekend by yourself. I always enjoy that. Maryanne - Thanks for the congrats. According to the USDA Hardiness map, Cape Cod is zone 7 (http://www.growit.com/bin/USDAZoneMaps.exe?MyState=MA). Just FYI if you're interested. Zone 7 means you have an average annual minimum temperature between 0 and 5 degrees F. Have a great weekend if I don't stop back again. -Tech |
We've been working in the yard all day sprucing up for Rhonda and Doyle's arrival. Meantime, Rhonda called. She said to tell all the Chickies, "Hi." She and Doyle are in NM for the balloon fiesta. They'll be here for a visit sometime next week. Life is good.
Sorry this is short. I am chillin' on the sofa. |
Hi everyone. Its been a busy week. I've been doing ok op. My meeting wed went well, did great with food. I did have a glass of wine at the cocktail reception. Thursday started my new week for WPAs and Ive done well to track everything. Not much going on this weekend. The weather is a perfect fall New England weekend. Cool and finally sunny. Not sure what we'll do this afternoon, but this evening a town near us has a Homecoming block party. There is a parade at 5 and then they block off the down town and have entertainment, food vendors and games for the kids. Then tomorrow, I think we are going to corn maize. Should be fun.
Maryann, Congrats on your loss! Tech, How is dh doing? I'm glad he is home and that your BIL is able to help out. Are you needing a visiting nurse? It may be something to look into. Sandra, glad to hear that Rhonda is on her way,. It should be a great visit for both of you. Well, got to get moving. Gymnastics this morning. BBL |
Good Morning Ladies:)
We have a cold cold :brr: morning have the fireplace going to get the chill out of the house. Hope it warms :sunny: up a little as I like to get some walking done. Nothing new, except for housework that I failed to to do during the week. My friend and I are going to the movies to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua tomorrow or Monday afternoon. LOVE  those talking animated animal cartoon movies, like Happy Feet that was cute. NANCY-Sometimes  the weigh is stubborn  and don't go down but if you stay on the core the scale will move.Have a wonderful weekend relaxing. DONNA-Glad that your enjoyed you nap & bike riding.I know how hard it is to have to be in those circumstances,DH be so ill & the panic mode set in. Your lucky :lucky: that your BIL & Mom are connected to the medical profession They must have re insured you & your DH how things look. Yes, I did look for the zones in my garden book and we are zone 7 ,when we plant tomatoes we can't put them out until the last frost which is the first week of June Where in NY where we used to live the tomatoes when it just after Mothers Day. PAULA-Thanks:thanks: for the congrats hope I can see another lose now that I watching my grain carbs.Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs :) |
Good Morning Cheekas! Sorry I've been MIA for the last two days, just been super busy, and haven't signed in. I'm doing good on core, lost 1.8 lbs on my WI this morning, and after 3.4 last week, I'm feeling pretty good. I don't go to meetings, as my BF and I are doing this together, and we're pretty good at keeping each other in check. The puppy woke up at 5am this morning, so I've been up playing with him and trying to get some homework done before the BF gets up. I had an apple but we'll be having omlets after our gym work out. Its Football season so weekends are tough, but we've got all the essential snacks to help us not go off track and eat something bad, if you don't have it you can't eat it!! :D
Rohnda and Sandra have fun together I love visiting family! Do you two see each other at least once a year? So jealous about the balloon festival, I've seen pictures from when my mom went, it has to be so neat! Tech - I agree that you should look into a visiting nurse, definitely helped my mom when my dad was sick. Just good to have a schedule for you and your time. :D Have a good weekend everyone! Steph |
Hi Everyone
Boy I am glad this week is over. Had alot of errends to run. And then had a tent revival at church for 3 nights. Boy was it cold out. So am finally able to get on here. I havent read the post yet. TECHALUM How's your hubby doing. I wont write to each of you. Cause dont know what has been going on with you. I hope everyone is doing ok. Know that I am thinking of you. Have a wonderful weekend. coco |
Hey there
It's me again. I was just wondering. Does anyone know how to make cinnamon apples. Or which heading in the recipe site they would be. And also would they be core. I would think they would be. But not sure. Thanks. coco |
Coco, I was looking for one and couldn't find one here. I did search the WW site and there are quite a few. Some done in the oven and others in the microwave. I found an apple chip recipe that came out very good. HTH
|
Good morning. I talked to Rhonda yesterday. They're still in NM and are having a great time. She said the balloon fiesta was glorious. They should be back in TX sometime this evening. I'm so ready to see them.
Someone asked if we see each other yearly. We have the past 3 years since she and my cousin married. I feel like I've known her formuch longer than 3 years. My eating was not so good the past 2 days but I'm back on program today. Looks like I have a lot of exercise ahead today so I should be all right for wi Tuesday. I hope so anyway. |
Good Morning Everyone,
DH is doing OK, thanks for asking. As long as his care giver doesn't kill him he should be fine. Friday night he didn't sleep well, so I didn't sleep well, I'm seriously thinking of bringing in the air mattress and sleeping bag (we only have one bed) and sleeping separately for a while. I also started TOM today, so yesterday I was PMSing, tired and crabby, and his complaining got to me. The two main issues we have are an open wound which needs packing, that drains under the ostomy bag loosening the seal and an ostomy bag that leaks into the open wound. Or maybe that's the same problem. We do have home care nursing coming. I'm not sure how much good they are besides to take his vitals and tell me how the wound looks. Both days even though we told them when they packed the wound to make sure not to tape over the bag flange, they did and both times a leak started in that area and got into the wound. At least the nurse yesterday left saline so I could rinse out the wound. They're supposed to send the wound nurse Monday or Tuesday (I'm guessing she's off this weekend), hopefully she's more help. I'm planning on going back on core today. Hopefully I can make it work. I just need to plan, a lot. Sorry if this grossed anyone out. Sandra - Have fun w/Rhonda. Hopefully you can encourage each other to stay on plan. Paula - Beautiful fall weekend here too. Wish I could enjoy it. Have fun at the corn maze, I'll bet dd loves it. Coco - I haven't had cinnamon apples in a long time. I used to just peel and slice the apple, and put in the microwave with a little cinnamon and sugar, I would think they would be core as long as you sub splenda for the sugar. Steph - :yay: Congrats on the loss :yay: Have a great day everyone. -Tech :dizzy: |
