Hi everyone and Happy Labor Day!! We have another cookout today and I'm really going to try to be core all day. The best I can do is try. Then no more excuses starting tomorrow. The extra weight I've gained this month is now making some clothes uncomfortable. No more fooling around, I need to get back on the wagon instead of waving as it goes by

So, I just made core coleslaw and have a nice pork roast to cook tomorrow. I also have salsa chicken in the freezer for my lunches as I'm back to work on Wednesday. I think that will help my eating -- the past 2 weeks off has been a detriment to my weight control plan. Its not worked as well as I hoped. Oh well, its a new day and a new month.

What are your goals for this month? My main one is to get back on track!

Good Morning Chicks!

Yep, Paula. I thought being retired would make it easier for me to lose weight. NOT!

I realized that I've got so much to do this week that I've no hope of catching up with everyone. I do have to say......

WAY TO GO SANDRA!!!! You did awesome for your first week. Now let's just go weigh in for our second week and move on the the awesome third week.

I'm doing ok but I could have done better. Today is a new day. I can swim in my pool today and tomorrow so I hope to get some great exercise to help me out. Then the temperature drops into the mid to high 70's which is too cool for me to swim.

Have a great day and DRINK YOUR WATER!!!!!!

Hi All:

I don't know if others have been having trouble, but I got kicked off and had to reset my password, etc. Don't know why.

We went out with friends for brunch, and I caved into 1/2 piece of chocolate pie. Could'a been worse

I'll see if I can exercise it away today

I hope everyone is having a good day!

Rhonda

Hi Ladies

Thanks Paula for starting us up on this Labor Day Week.

my menu today

b-instant oatmeal with banana,FF milk

d-balsamic shrimp succotash[core recipe]green salad with FF dress.

sn-WW smoothie

supper-2 hamburgers on 1 WW pita bread[1]

des-baked apple.

=============================================

When typing up my menu from my food journal I noticed that I only used as of today 26 WPA's. Hope that I'll notice that the scale moved downward this Thursday.

Relaxing and watching the finals of the golf playoffs. Than that dreaded center again this Wed.Have a 8:30 appointment so we'll be leaving at around 7 ish and than won't be home until late that afternoon.

Also some time this week I'm going to the movies to see either Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants or House Bunny with a friend of mine,so that will be fun.

PAULA-Sending you : & that you stay hard core for the remainder of the week.Thats my goal for the month also, plus I'm planning to eat more raw veggies for snack time also,no more popcorn to munch on. I want to staying away from my WPA as much as possible, maybe by only using no more that 10 WPA's per week.

VICKIE-By not means retirement is harder to stay OP as you around food all day, wheres at work you only have a break ever so often and can't reach the foods as easily. Why is 70's too cool for you to go into the pool??? Once you in doesn't warm up??? I know that when I go down to my DD her pool stay warm even when the temp go down.

RHONDA-I didn't get kicked off,but than again I'm still posting.Hope it doesn't happen to me as I forgot my password. I'm sure you didn't to any damage eating 1/2 pc of chocolate pie. Just use your WPA's or your AP to rectify the dessert.

Have a great afternoon & evening will be back tomorrow morning.

Hugs

Rhonda, in the old days you'd have eaten the whole piece. Congratulations on stopping at 1/2.

Jim brought home some bad sirloin. I'm waiting for him to come back with new stuff so that we can get in the pool by 3:30.

Happy Monday All,

We're back from vacation, it was a nice relaxing time. We went to the Finger Lakes area of NY. Drank too much wine the first couple of days, but surprisingly when I weighed in on Sat stayed the same and Fri night we had steak at home. Of course Sat we went out to my parents and had brats and potato salad Oh well, I don't eat like that every day.

Today we broke the bikes back out, unfortunately we waited too long and it was pretty warm out, but we still did about 15 miles so I'm pretty happy. Now I won't feel guilty about the corn chips with my avocado salsa this afternoon, although I will abstain from the hurricane and have an iced tea instead.

I haven't had a chance to look at last weeks posts, but if I don't get moving I will be starving by the time I get the salsa made and eat too many chips (I will weigh them cross my ).

I do have to say though I love Maine, that's where DH and I honeymooned .

Have a great day everyone, I'll try to catch up tomorrow.

-Tech

Yep....it's harder to be around food all day, I think. I'm a weenie with the pool. We don't have a heater so usually here in Chicagoland the pool temperature drops with the temperature of the air. Also, I don't like to get out of a warm pool and have to freeze on the deck until I can come in and warm up.

Paula, thank you for the clean pages. Sounds like you're having a fun-filled Labor Day. We went to Missoula for a bit and are now home snuggled in afghans. It's raining outside and snowing in the mountains around us. Life is good.

Vickie, I wouldn't get into cool water either. It makes my arthritis ache really really bad. You're right. We need to go wi this week no matter what--then head on to awesome week #3.

Donna, I just saw your goal for summer. You're inspiring me. Welcome back from vacation. I've never been to Maine but would love to do so sometime.

Rhonda, 1/2 a slice of pie isn't so bad. You did well, Cuz. You'll get that exercised off quickly.

Maryann, have fun at the movies.

Hi chicks! It's been a quiet day; not much "labor" going on here. We're just couch surfing and watching movies.

Paula-thanks for the pages and the egg recipe. I like quick things.

Sandra-sounds like you are cozy. I'll bet the snow is beautiful.

Vickie-I don't blame you. Cold pool water is not my idea of fun.

Tech-glad you had a good vacation. What was the weather like? In Tennessee, we have been very hot and humid.

Maryann-I saw sisterhood with my dd before she went back to school. We really liked it, but we had seen the first one. Did you see it?

Rhonda-good job on the 1/2 piece of pie. Sounds yummy! How many points can it be, anyway?

My plans for the rest of the day are the same, couch surfing. As you can imagine, it does not provide much exercise, but is sure is nice. I'll walk after school tomorrow. Later, I plan to make some of the buffalo chicken burgers to freeze for lunch this week. I'll also use some leftovers for lunch. Hope you all have had a great day. TTFN

HI everyone. I know I have been missing in action, but I found my way back. I think the last time I posted was in July after my camping trip. Well things have gone terrible. I have not been home for the weekends since the 4th of July so you can just imagine the food that has been involved. We were up north Mi for 2 weeks. Did so so, than we had a wedding the following weekend, than a 25th wedding anniversary party, family parties and finally this weekend a wedding. So I ate a lot of junk but I am back and that is a start. I need to plan some meals for myself this week. I start a job so I am in hope that this will detour my eating. I have not worked in 11 years. It is only a 3 day job from 9- 1:30. But the $ is good and the hrs can not be beat. I am home with the dk in the morning and when they get home from school.

Nice to be back...... Barb

Barb-glad you're back! We always allow "do-overs", so get going! You are right to plan your meals. I think that is one of the most important parts of staying op. You can do this!!!

Strange...I was kicked off again. Hmmmm...oh well, the password worked..

You're all right..before now, it would have been the whole piece of pie. As it is, I shared it with a friend, and it was enough.

Welcome Back, Barb...

My week away from work is over...back at it tomorrow. Here come the students. And, this may well be the last time I welcome students back to a campus...strange, very strange.

Rhonda

Rhonda-I imagine this year you will be marking a lot of "last times". Have you thought of keeping a journal? It might be a good stress reliever as well as a good read in a few years. Hope you have a great day, tomorrow! TTFN
