I have been trying to breed my Holland Lop Rabbit and today she had 2 babies. I am worried about her doing a good job feeding them since she is a first time mom.
I will try to post a picture or a link to one soon. They are so tiny and cute.:bunny2: |
Good Morning Everyone!
...No, I haven't died of heat exhaustion! :) I've just been superbusy preparing for family flying in! I have my uncle who came in from Canada and my mom who flew in from Egypt!... it's almost like a mini-reunion. It's so nice having family around... A lot of you were wondering what it must be like here in Saudi. Actually, it's quite nice. Jeddah is one of the most "modern" cities here! For example, women are not required to cover their hair in public, however they are required to wear a black abaya over their clothes... almost like a cloak. The concept behind it is meant to promote modesty, but you should see some of these abayas... there are brands like Chanel and Burberry! Nightlife here consists of mainly restaurants and cafes, hence the weightloss challenge! :) There are no movie theatres or dance clubs obviously and alcohol is STRICTLY PROHIBITED everywhere in the kingdom... even though there are people who brew their own at home. I live on a "western compound" meaning that where I live, Saudi rules do not apply. Women can dress freely and they can drive within the confines of the compound. It's pretty nice, we have pools, tennis courts and a great rec center. So, really I have no excuse not to get in shape! I am really trying to use my time in Saudi to take care of myself-since I really don't have anything else to do! :) I do have 2 small kids, but they have an active social life here on the compound... they have friends and playdates every single day! So, I won't bore you with anymore details about my boring life, but if any of you have questions, I'd be happy to let you know more! :) How's everyone doing? I've been somewhat lax on the core plan, but I have been active. I need to get back on track.... Gotta go... the kids are harassing eachother! BBL! |
Good Morning Chicks! I've been busy shopping for countertops and backsplashes. I wish my fairy godmother would come in and take care of all of it for me. No such luck.
It's supposed to be hot today so I'm sure to be in the pool later. Woo Hoo! I'm so excited. The pool season in Chicago is quite short. I went in last night with my Great Niece and Nephew who were dying to swim. The water was only 78 degrees. That might be good when the sun is out and it's 85 degrees outside but it was 7:30 at night. They wanted to go in so 52 year old Great Auntie took them in while Momma the 41 year old sat on the side because it was too cold. I told the kids to remember that I'm the one who took them in when I'm old and feeble and need company. LOL!!!!! My eating has been ok except for the day that my GF and Jim took me out for my last birthday lunch. I used it as an excuse to eat poorly. I probably won't lose on Saturday but I'll be going no matter what. Today, I hope to get some serious exercise in the pool. Tomorrow the temperature drops back into the 70's for a couple of days, darnit. Ok.....gotta go get some things done so I don't have to feel guilty in the pool later. Have a great on program day. |
Mornin' y'all- it's chore day here, too Rhonda. Even though four adults live at my house, Mom still has to get everyone on the bandwagon to clean. What's up with that? I guess it's my fault for not making my kids more responsible for their things. Oh well, too late now!
Nancy-Do you breed the bunnies to sell? I'd love to see a photo. About our challenge, have you thought about a yummy treat for today? Maybe Pizza and Ice Cream for dinner  I think even though I've been eating on core, I've been eating too much. I need to concentrate on smaller portions. If I do that and you eat pizza, I should be okay  Vickie-I am going to nominate you for "Great Aunt of the Year" :queen: Getting in that freezing water was very sweet of you. Noussa-How long will you be in SA? Your idea about using this time to concentrate on yourself is a good one! BB-Hang in there, next week the scale will show a loss! Sandra-How's the move going? Can't wait for those pics! Tracie-Happy Friday! :carrot: Hope to hear from the rest of you chicks soon ! TTFN |

Hey Chickies! Doing great here. I didn't meet the challenge as I have not been getting my exercise in :?:. Oh well, can't do em all!!
Noussa, I was wondering how it was for you in Saudi. It's much different than I imagined. Although it's hot, it sounds like you have everything you need plus more. Do you have air conditioning or not? That would be awful if you didn't. Nancy, the bunnies sound cute. We want pictures! Sloanie, Happy Friday right back to you!!! I'm sooo glad it's friday! Just want to let you all know I will be disappearing for the weekend to my dbf's cottage with his dd. I have brought all core food, so I should be ok. Although I'm sure I'll have a few cocktails, but I do have 24 points left so I should be ok. I'm leaving in a couple hours so "Stay Core"! |
Yes My Dears... I do have AC! I wouldn't last a minute here without it! :)

Hi everyone. Just wanted to check in with you all. Its been a long week. I did work most of it, I was off today. Took mom out for breakfast and then running errands. The back to her house to go through more papers. My dad saved everything!! We've found the important things and trashed alot. The services are Monday - I'm trying to keep busy and not think about things. Needless to say my eating has been off. I have been walking daily and trying to keep on track, but I know I've been eating more than I should and not making good choices. My usual wi day is Tuesday so I will start fresh this Tuesday after the funeral.
I'm off work until next Thursday, if the weather is good on Tuesday I think I'll take dd to the beach. We haven't gone yet and I think a day with just me and her may do me some good. Tracie -- congrats on making your 1/2 way mark!!! 30 pounds is an amazing loss, you should be so proud. Nancy -- happy bday and congrats on getting to 142! Noussa -- enjoy your family visit. I do have a question - what took you to SA? and how long do you expect to be there? I love hearing about the culture ect. So far removed from here in Mass. Please share more!! Sandra -- good luck with the move. Do you have a set date when it will be official? Well, off to surf the web and find my dad's obituaries. It was published in the papers today. Have a good night. |
Paula, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Walking, I'm sure, is great for your stress level. I'm sure your DD is needing some reassurance. A day alone together would be great.
|
Paula-I've been praying for you all! A special day with just your daughter sounds like excellent therapy. Please don't beat yourself up about your eating. Just set that goal for next Tuesday and don't worry about it.
Hope the rest of you chicks are having a restful evening. BBL if I can wrestle the computer away from my DS. |
Paula, walking will help with your stress for sure. Just hang in there and do what you need to do for yourself the next few days.
Noussa, thank you for the info on where you live. I'm glad you're in a Western compound. What about groceries? Can you get a lot of U. S. goodies? My bro used to live in Belgium. I would mail him somefood items that he couldn't get over there. TV? Do you get current prime time shows via satellite? Vickie, I'm sending you :;): for getting your kitchen up and running soon. Hope you don't have all thehurdles and pitfalls we're having. Our furniture was delivered today all except our new bed. We bought it this AM. It's coming Monday. After that,we'll prob move in in spite ofthe place's not being 100% finished. Ahhhhhhh........ Nancy, we're enjoying our wild rabbits. A few minutes ago, we walked right by one talking to him. I guess because we kept walking and didn't slow down, he didn't realize we'd seen him. He never moved and he was really really close by. |
Good way to take care of yourself, Paula, take walks and be with your daughter!
I've had a tiring week at work and have not met our :exercise: challenge. But, tomorrow morning I'm waking up with new motivation! Maybe I'll do the video twice each day and be only one session behind :woohoo: Right now, I'm going to bed! Night all, Rhonda |
Rhonda, you do sound tired. I haven't met the challenge either, but tomorrow we're shooting another 3D tournament. We'll be doing a lot of walking. I'mgoing to count that as oneday of exercise.

Good Morning Ladies:)
Its nice to be back posting again, going to take it one week at a time I haven't read any of yesterdays post, I lost 2.5 pounds in the month of June, and I'm hoping for some more losses in the month of July. Don't feel hungry and the foods that you follow are healthy nutritious things to eat. NOUSSA-Wow!!! What a different life the woman in Saudi live, I couldn't imagine me living like that after living here in America. We are so blessed. Glad that you live on the compound.Try to get back on the core,I can't believe what a wonderful plan it is,at least for me, I never feel hungry eating this way. Happy that your activity is keeping you accountable. VICKIE-Enjoy your pool days, don't have a pool ,not allowed to have one in our community. You'll get back OP especially with the core being so easy to follow. SLOANIE-Thanks, I feel like I'm going to lose this week,as I been kept strictly to the Core with maybe 1 or 2 points allowed for the the days snacking. TRACIE-Have an enjoyable weekend, getting away for the weekend is a plus. We're do, keep coring. PAULA-Your in our prayers & thoughts. Have a good time with your DD on the beach. SANDRA-I have to start a exercising regiment during the day instead of night time,as I think the late night activity is breaking up my sleep patterns. I heard exercising in the morning before breakfast is the best time. Have to go,will look in later hugs :) BB |
Morning all:
Well, I did wake up with new motivation. It's going to help having 4 days off. And, thank goodness, the next two months will be busy but not full of the non-stop meetings and receptions I've been going to recently. I haven't told you the continuing story of our car. We got it back from the dealer a few weeks ago and almost immediately the brakes seized! So, back to the shop for new brake lines. The parts have taken forever to arrive, then the mechanic took a few days off...out of the last 2 months, we have had this car about 5 days without some problem :tantrum: Thank goodness there is good public transport here or we would be out the expense of having to rent a car I suppose. RIDICULOUS! :yikes: Rhonda |
