One meal at a time, Coco. Get on the gazelle....even for 5 minutes. That's what I'm doing. I'm also not going to look back at what's done. It's just not productive. It's over and done with and I'm looking forward.

I don't usually post here any more, but I thought I'd jump in and mention this weeks Topic....My decision to post was prompted by Coco, who seemed to not have had a good week for herself. Don't dwell on yesterday, it was what it was.
I know most go to the meetings but I just wanted to reiterate. It was such a great topic.....about Urges and Cravings....Coco there is a definete difference. Most of us have either one or the other at any given time.
So work through them. Cravings are "all about the food" Cravings stay with you...so the best thing to do is to have "A LITTLE" of what it is you are craving. Sometimes just a bite or 2 will do it. It's because we have cut this 'something or other food' out of our daily day.
It is suggested, we remain calm, think of the consequence, and what the the craving imply?? You can do this!!
Urges, are all about reaction to the smell of something, or what situation you're in (like the Mall Food Court, TV commercial) again remain calm eat something else, core friendly, keep busy. Urges will go away if you do something else.
Best of luck to you

Happy Sunday everyone. DH and I went out last night - our sitter is moving with my nephew to Colorado, he's there already and she is leaving next weekend. This was our last time to have her babysit Sarah. I'm going to miss them both. They both just graduated in December and my nephew is the new meterologist at KREX in Grand Junction Colorado. I'm excited for both of them, its the start of their "adult lives". Dinner last night was not so good - went to Ruby Tuesdays and we were both very dissapointed. Oh well.

Today its gloomy once again. Tiki, glad you enjoyed Wrentham. For me its about 20 minutes. When I go I try to be there at 10am on Tuesdays (my day off). That way its not crazy. You can spend alot of time and money at the outlets - I love it!

Sandra - contrats to you on your loss and to Curtis' amazing loss!!! WOO HOO. Guys always seem to lose so much more, especially in the first weeks. I hope his motivation keeps you on track - nothing like a bit of competition!!

Coco, hugs to you. Its a new week, the past is past. Try to just focus on now. Baby steps! Remember we are here when you need to lean on us!

Vickie - bravo on the exercising. Just keep it up!!

Well, need to get Sarah dressed, and ready for the day. The princess party isn't until 4:00 so we have time to do something. I may run over to BJ's -- I got a free 60 day trial membership. When Sarah was using formula and diapers I shopped there alot. Those were a big savings. But without those items, I can't justify the membership cost - I don't think there is that much of a savings overall compared to the grocery store. But I will use the free membership. The one thing they do have that I miss is a very large bag of frozen fruit. Yum.

L. J's post about urges and cravings is helpful: thank you.

The slogan "it works if you work it...." is a good one for all of us with desires to consume things that aren't always so good for us!! And we do deserve it!

I'm off to buy plants for the garden. I hardly slept last night so a nap is in my plans. Don't know whyI couldn't sleep; I was just awake. One of those things.

Have a great day all. Coco, one foot in front of the other. Eat less, move more

Thanks Rhonda and Linda about the reminders - I, like Coco, have a problem sometimes eating for what it seems it 'no reason' - but your'e right there always is a reason - we need to find out what it is - and I also have problems with urges/cravings so have to be mindful of that as well!

Got my pedicure yesterday - had fun chatting with the ladies (and watching the hockey game the ottawa senators are now in the finals for the Stanley Cup and the city goes wild!). Looking forward to wearing sandals this week and showing off my pretty hot pink toenails!

Weather was glorious yesterday but gloomy today and about to rain. Like Rhonda I was hoping to get plants and garden today but looks like that ain't happening today!

Shrek 3 has opened this weekend but all my 'big babies' want to see it so I need to wait til all kids are around - maybe tomorrow afternoon?

Eating still not great - finding it hard to focus on what's good for me!

Hi Everyone
Thanks for the talks girls. They helped. But I should have gotten on here sooner. Son took us out to eat. and I made a bad choice. had a steak sandwich and fries. I usually get a salad and baked potato at this resturant. But today. Thought I am tired of salad and bake potato. I want something different. I even fooled the waitress. She was surprised. This is just a little local resturant. So now I feel bad for the choice. In a way. But I also feel satisfied. Does that make sense.
Maybe I am getting in a rut of eating the same things all the time. That I need a change of some kind. I did get a new WW cookbook at the meeting Monday night. Its got comfort foods in it. Like macaroni and cheese. And they also have several core recipes in it. We are suppose to go to a coook out next Sunday. So am thinking of finding a new recipe to make and take. The place we are going. The lady is a lifetime WW memeber. So that will help.
Well I think my guys are taking their Sunday afternoon nap. (hubby and son). So will finish up here. And go get DR OZ out. He is suppose to be on Oprah on Monday I think. Will miss him though.
Well ladies I am thinking of all of you.
And THANK YOU so much for being here for me.

Hello Chicks! I did my 15 minutes on the treadmill today and then pushed myself to go 5 more minutes.

Frouf, Jim and I saw Shrek on Friday. I loved it but Jim didn't think it was as good as the first one. There are quite a few funny moments. I recommend it for great distraction if one can avoid the show popcorn!

hi there, chickies. i'm sitting downstairs in front of 2 puters. i have scrabble going on one and you all on the other. life is good.

we had the grands yesterday and today. that led to a few food challenges, but curtis and i managed to hang in there. he also went fishing with a bud yesterday. i packed him a core picnic to take. today we grilled burgers. used a few pts today but we had then to spend. so far so good.

rhonda, congratulations on getting the scales moving downward. my goal is still 1 lb per week. just think where we'll be in 3 months if we lose 1 per week. won't that be grand?

coco, do you go to ww meetings? that would probably help.

frouf, you and little ds had a wonderful outing. makes me smile. okay, now i'm going to kick you in the bunny tail. get back op right now. remember your cruise will soon be here. (i love you.)

vickie, i like what you said about looking forward. good thinking.

lj, that was a good meeting, wasn't it? curtis is still talking about it, too. he told me today he learned a lot at it. we'd both been craving a good burger. that's why we had ours today and counted the pts. i used to try to hoarde my pts. not good.

tiki, congrats on a good weightloss. you have to have done a lot of things right. i'm proud of you.

paula, he's being so cute trying to make excuses for why he lost so much the first week (ate a lot right before joining, etc.....) i told him to stop trying to belittle his loss and to enjoy it. he earned it. i was worred about his fishing/picnicking with a buddy trip yesterday but he came home logging in his veggies, pts, etc..... he's still focused. thank goodness.

okay, coco, consider your butt kicked. (i love you.) i kicked you so you don't have to keep kicking yourself. you know what to do. you're like i am and know the program backwards and forwards. just decide what you want and go for it.

here's a quote that i got from ww back in the late 1960's. (yes, chickies, i'm old. i know some of you weren't born yet.)

"a minute on the lip; forever on the hip."

here's another:

"a sliver--a slice-a slab---a slob."

ww used to be tough on us, didn't they? those are not positive statements. ww is much more positive in the way they speak to us today. honestly, i don't know which is the better approach. i lost and gained with both methods.

last night the grands and i were going through some old jewelry i had here in my armoir. we found a letter written to me from my 5th grade teacher. she'd written it to me about 25 years ago and passed it to me with some of her antique jewelry. (i was her pet. i was in her class back in 1959.)

in the letter she told me how special i had always been to her and she gave me some advice about how to dress properly. she even encouraged me to watch oprah. she was the kind of teacher who always told us "like it was." i remember one time when i was sitting on row 3, she told a boy with a drippy nose to go to the bathroom and clean his face. she told our whole class, "i love all of you and i will tell you when i think you're beautiful, and i'll tell you when i think you need to blow your nose."

we all loved and respected our "simon cowell before his time." that woman impacted a lot of lives in a wonderful way.

(how did i get onto that?)

congratulations to each and every one of you (us). coming here and posting and helping each other is a HUGE way to helping ourselves. we're going to get to our goals. and just look at how many friends and how much fun we're having on the way!!!!!!

gotta run now. i'm off my soapbox. but before i go--will each of you kick my butt every time i need it?

Morning Everyone
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
ONTARGET Thanks for the butt kick. And the pep talk. Sure do appercitate it. I do go to the WW meetings. And when I leave there. Its like ok. I am with the program. But once I get home. And then on Tuesday. Its like Who cares. I do much better when I am not around the house so much. But with gas prices. Who can afford to run to town every day. And then once I step in the house. Its like ok. Wheres the food. And I start searching for whatever. So dont know what is going on. I guess I need to try and figure out what is going on. But not sure how to do that. Ok enough on this.
Does everyone have big plans for the weekend. I do know we are going to the cookout on Sunday. Then maybe a cookout at my parents.
We wont have WW next monday. So wont be weighing in. Maybe that is what I need.
Well will get off here for now.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Thinking of all of you.
