  • Good morning all
I am ready for my new start .
Today I am going to clean and cook a few dishes and sides to be prepared.
I will ride my bike for 45 minutes.

    I have a game tonight . GO TWIZZLERS !!!!!!!
The girls anr 9 and 10 years old . The team we are playing tonight is the one I want to beat the pants off of . They were bad parents last year by yelling miss at my girls while battinmg and I just plain out dont like that . The game should always be fun and first and formost the kids should be happy and learning . I will update later but have to share a funny story..last night my 15 year old DD was helping my 10 year old DD practce her pitching. Lets just say oldest DD will want to wear a cupor protection from now on ! lol I looked out the window and she was down and holding het groin. My 10 year ols tells her : hey sorry but you should keep your legs closed " lol.......they are so silly !

Takisha love the babe helping you out on your plan ! ha she would have you down to gaol in a few weeks ....she will starve you lol

Niki I hope you are feeeling better too

I went to the DR yesterday because I am feeling drained and really tired all the time. I sem to crash at noon , so he upped my thyroid meds . I am sick of feeling sick . I keep pushing myself and stay active but somedays I just want to crawl in bed......well lets see how the meds work .
I will post after my game and let you all know how they do !

Have a great day ladies and do something just for you today
  • Gina - hope the meds help you get energized - altho frankly I'm sure all that you are doing might be adding to your tiredness - good luck to the Twizzlers (okay all I can think of now is red licorice! )

Tech - amazing loss - way to go - good try with the asparagus - I know what it's like when nothing prepared is 'acceptable' - very frustrating.

Sandra - have fun in the garden. I am hoping to 'expand' my little veggie plot (along the side of my house) this year - and so looking forward to being able to plant - probably a couple more weeks I think?

Paula - what a great walk - and you certainly earned some APs with that 'extra' load you were carrying

Have my dr appt today at 3:30 pm - guess she will want to see how I'm managing on the meds - I don't really want to up the dose yet - might try this dosage for a couple more weeks - altho I am feeling better - but not fantastic or really energized/improved???

And I am actually planning to attend this alumni wine and cheese thing tonight at a downtown hotel! Got an email from that MBA friend I bumped into last week (Lauren) encouraging me to attend - so I did rsvp - I am of course a bit embarrased about my weight (and luckily I was able to 'fix' up my roots this morning!) - but won't let that stop me. Will try not to indulge in too much wine and cheese of course!

Lunchtime- and we are watching some sort of webcast in the boardroom (hope someone brought the popcorn ha ha ha)

  • Afternoon chicks,,,it started off as such a beautiful morning,,,Im off today , so when I got up , I made my oatmeal, grabbed my water and a good book and headed tothe patio. I havnt done that since last summer......felt so good!! I was still in my jammies and housecoat. The neigbours think Im weird.
Its starting to cloud over now,,Im glad I got out there when I did. My bf and I are going for our weekly power walk today. Last time I took pictures. Turned out nice too.
The scales isnt being kind to me this week...Im up 2.5 ,,I do have two days to go so Im hoping it goes down a bit. I will get it back off again. Just a bump in the long road ahead of me.

Frouf I was thinkinf licorice too...love twizzlers!! haha
  • Tiki - On the herbs. The rosemary will have to come in for the winter it doesn't survive frost, so assuming your somewhere in Mass where it snows you won't want to plant that in the garden. As for trimming, except for parsley they pretty much grow back where you cut them. Most will divide just below the cut, so I try to get in close to the ground to keep them bushy all the way up. Parsley re-sprouts from the roots so they need to be cut as close to the ground as you can, what's left will die off and a new sprout will come up. Don't worry about asking questions, most of this I learned through trial and error (and some internet research by DH). And watch the dill seeds we let the flowers go to seed so we'd have more dill this year, and we have dill everywhere, I didn't think anything could grow in the mint.

Frouf - I was thinking red licorice too. DH's favorite candy.

  • Back from the wine and cheese and LOTS OF GOOD FOOD reception - yes I had 3 (baby) glasses of wine - turns out it was some sort of wine tasting event as well where you got tickets to sample like 5 or 6 wines (actually didn't finish the chardonnay cuz it tasted yucky).

Well it seems some very RICH alumnus (graduated in 73 or something) has donated $25 MILLION to the School of Management (where I got my MBA) at the University of Ottawa - they have now of course renamed the school for him - and building a new building, etc - WOW -

made sure to eat before I drank - didn't really keep track of what I ate - all non core of course - but I treated it as my 'dinner' so to speak: some spanakopita, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, quiche things, meatballs, more crackers and the wine! Had fun catching up with my mba friend Lauren (and we have promised to keep in touch!) and chatted with a couple of others but not many people there I recognized.

and my feet are killing me - hate wearing my fancy pumps - but I did dress to impress of course!

Dr appt went okay - had her laughing at the shenanigans that go on at our house (and I wasn't even trying to be funny). She wanted to increase dosage to 10 mg but I said I would prefer staying on the lower dosage for a least a couple more weeks - and she said that was fine - but I could increase if I felt like I needed to.

Told her I was a bit improved - she asked me how I felt on a scale of 1 to 10 - 10 being fantastic - I said 5 - she said I need to get up to an 8 (maybe 9) - so feel free to up dosage if I am not feeling better than a 5 - also to go back in 3 weeks to see how I'm doing.

Now time to RELAX, unwind, read (stopped off at the library on the way home and got some books even tho that involved more walking in the painful shoes).

  • For the discussion of herbs: my front yard is about 1/2 thyme. It comes back every year and is so fragrant. I also have a huge oregano plant. The thyme is very good, but the oregano is mostly ornamental. The thyme "carpet" gets a lot of attention from passersby, who can smell its fragrance.

I did OK with food today. I didn't get in, but I walked for about 40 minutes. So, feeling OK about that.

I hope everyone has a good night.

  • Hey ladies sorry it's been so long since I've been on. Haven't been able to get on the computer because my mom has needed it every day for the past two weeks. I've also been painting the house for my mom and dad so that's taking up a lot of my time. I haven't gone back and read everything think I'll just start from right here. Hope everyone is doing good! I haven't been following WW for the past couple weeks but I've managed to maintian my weight between 194-196 and I'm okay with that. It would also seem that I'm off work for 2-3 weeks. I have pulled my back and have to go and get physio before I can go back to work in 2-3 weeks, up to the physio to tell me if I'm able to go back or not. Other than that not much going on here. Don't know if any of you know what Cardio Core Boot Camp is but I'm going to be starting that on May 28th 3 nights a week for an hour. I can't wait to start either, I'm hoping that it will put me back into the frame of mind to get back to the gym. I have gone a couple of times but nothing major. All I can do right now is walk on the treadmill (due to my back I can't use the weights right now) and seeing as we are having such nice weather I would much rather go for a walk than go the gym and use the treadmill. Anyway I will pop on here tomorrow and check in with everyone.
  • hi there. i'm here for just a sec. i've been having puter problems tonight. earlier today i worked in the yard--after curtis and i went to the doctor.

curtis is going to join ww fri. our doctor is going to monitor us. we go back next month with our ww cards. no diet pills--just the accountability of going to the doctor.

frouf, i got your e but my puter hasn't let me see anything yet. i'll try again tomorrow. thank you for sending it to me.
  • Morning All:

Ooh, I'm envious Sandra! I think having your DH join the plan could be a great boost-- for the both of you.

Tink...sorry to hear that you hurt yourself. I hope that "bootcamp" doesn't aggravate your injury!

I'm looking forward to a sligtly slower pace today. That means that I'm booked solid until 5PM, but I don't start until 10AM. Whoopee! I might just take that extra hour and do absolutely NOTHING.

We had a roofer look at our roof yesterday. NOT a pretty sight I know that we need a totally new one, but I'm not looking forward to the estimate! I'm speculating it will at least $8,000. because the old one will have to be mostly removed, and I've got to shore up a skylight.

I hope everyone has a great day: one conscious bite at a time.

    Rhonda
  • rhonda, it certainly costs a lot to maintain a home, doesn't it? seems the $$$ keep going out the window--or over the roof. we are needing a new picture window. i don't have a clue what that will cost.

this am i saw a hummingbird feeding. she looked at me then kept on sipping. yesterday she buzzed over my shoulder while i was pruning the honeysuckle. life is good.

frouf, i saw your photos this am. awesome! i can tell you two had a wonderful trip. makes me smile.

curtis and i are joining ww in the am. well, he's joining. i'm just continuing. confession--we have both splurged the past 2 days. sort of more "final meals."

have a terrific thursday, all. i'll be back later if the puter permits.

Okay are you sure you got a good look at dd's cranky/pouty face? (okay there might have been one pic with a smile - but that is rare!)

Hi Tink- sorry to hear about your back! Hope the physio helps - I am also wondering about the boot camp given your back situation? You certainly would not want to re-injure it!

Rhonda - hope you had a nice quiet time to yourself this morning - and good luck with the roofing estimate!

    Vickie - where are you?

At work today - and it's going to be a hot one - up to 29C which is almost 90F - heat wave for sure and we are expecting rain then some more normal temps for the weekend!

Feeling tired - need to get to bed earlier!

    Frouf
  • Afternoon ladies

Thanks for the help with the herbs
I'm so tired I will make this brief.I am soo tired today.I can barely sit here.I took a pain killer for my tooth which I think I need a root canal on.And instead of this narcotic making me pass out I was up till about midnight. So I am really dragging today for sure.I laid down on the couch with the baby and had Jim call me in case I fell sleep and didnt get dd at preschool, that would have been bad.
I'm not even going to kid myself into saying I'm exercising today. There is no way.I am so mad at my scale. Its not moving very much and I dont even know if its accurate half the time.Usually its about 2.1 higher than WW but last week it was 1.1 higher than WW So can't really depend on it.I have been so good its sick and I'm wondering if maybe I'm not eating enough calories.I eat my APs so I dont know what gives.
Anyways I'm going to see if I can talk everyone into laying down with me.Don't think I can get them both asleep at the same time though lol
I will respond more when I get some rest.Everyone have a great day!
  • Happy Thursday everyone! The field trip yesterday was fun -- ok, when was the last time you were on a yellow school bus!!! Sarah and all her friends had a ball both on the Bus and at the zoo. It was short though - we got to the zoo at 10:30 and needed to get back on by 12:30. I know that 2 hours is alot for 4 year olds, but it did not leave alot of time to see everything. I wasn't as impressed with this zoo as the one we went to last summer. I think I would go back to that one first.

Food wise, I did great. The one point wraps are very good. Used lean/ff deli turkey, mustard and lettuce. I also made core pumpkin bread which I have been snacking on a few times a day. I need to make sure I have core snacks on hand as that is my down fall!!!

Gina, hope the new meds work out. I'm hypothyroid as well (I'm assuming you are since the symptoms are the same ). I need to have my bloodwork done this month. My meds were updated last fall and it took a few months to get it right. I think they are OK as I'm feeling good.

Tiki - don't stress over your scale. Believe me, BTDT. Just stick to plan and what will be will be!

After listening to the quotes on roofing and repairs, I'm so glad DH is a carpenter. We just have to pay materials. Things are so expensive. We have about 14 windows that have to be replaced this year. That alone will cost enough, can't imagine if we had to pay labor!

Well, need to get to a meeting. BBL.
  • Good Evening All -

I can talk to you because it doesn't actually involve talking we had 3000+ kids in today not to mention the regular non school group visitors, so I'm about talked out. I always joke that DH loves days like this because I get home and leave him alone. Guys usually think that's pretty funny.

Anyway, had a poor day yesterday was feeling stressed and ate my way out of it. And I didn't choose core foods. Oh well today is a new day and so far so good.

Vicki - I've got your tamale pie in the oven I hope it tastes as good as it smells. I'm pretty hungry. Hope you're having a good day.

Ticki - hope your feeling better. It is so hard to exercise when you're really really tired. Sometimes sleep is better so we don't injure ourselves.

Paula - glad you had fun at the zoo. I'm always amazed at the short amount of time they give the kids most get there between 10 and 11 and then leave between 1:30 and 2:30. Doesn't leave much time, but hopefully they still enjoy themselves.

Frouf - Hot here too, I think we went from winter to summer and missed spring. This weekend is supposed to be nice though.

Sandra - Tsk Tsk, but then again we all do it. I went out Tuesday after WW for what I called a free meal, 'cause I was done for the week. Good luck starting over.

Rhonda - don't talk about roof prices, dh said we need to start a fund sooner rather than later when he was up there cleaning out the gutters. Scary.

Tink - Welcome back. sorry about your back that's a bummer.

Gina - How did the Twizzlers do???

Well, dinner should be beeping any second, so I've gotta go. Have a great night everyone.

    -Tech
  • Well, the roofer didn't show up with his estimate. He probably had to go out and buy a bigger pad of paper to write it all down!

I actually worked at a reasonable pace today, for a welcome change..but, excuse me, Tech, did you say 3000, as in thousand, kids!? Oh my. I hope you meant only 300.

My eating was not too bad. I had shashimi (raw fish) and cooked chicken at a Japanese place for lunch. I didn't eat much of the rice and just had Miso soup and a tiny bit of salad. For dinner I at a homemade hamburger, with only 1/2 of a bun.

Did not exercise, but did walk a bit. And, so it goes.

    Have a good night all.

    Rhonda

ps: Sandra, I had a great dream once in which a hummingbird laid its head on my shoulder. I now have about 3 or 4 hummingbird brooches that I wear often.
