First name: Melinda
Geographical location: Ohio, right outside of Cinnci.
Age: 25
Marital Status: Married
Children/Ages: None right now
Occupation: I work as a contractor in the pet care department of a pretty big corporation. I'm in the call center / administrative part of it. I call shelters to get pet care kits out to them for the new adoptee's so people are better informed on how to take care of their new animal, respond to e-mails with questions about our product, and will also be doing phone work like answering phones on a hotline we have for people who just lost their pet so they have someone to talk too.
Pets: None at the moment due to our apartment. But I love animals, which is needed at my job.
Hobbies/Interests: I play video games, watch movies, and read lots of books. I also love taking leisure walks in nature and take lots of pictures of things around me.
Height: 5'1"
Eye/Hair Color: Blue eyes and Brown hair.
Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: July 16, 2011 - the last time I will ever need to start a diet (well, that is the plan).
Starting Weight: 258.4.
Present Weight: 258.4 (I only had one weigh-in).
Goal Weight: Well, right now I'm putting it at 140. Possibly, 130. But I wanted to do a realistic goal and I have no idea what I'll feel like once I actually get close.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: My love of food. Oh, and I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so am stationary a lot due to unable to exercise hard.
Following any specific plan: Just calorie counting right now. I am up for changing it eventually, but can't afford to pay for any kind of plan / food thing right now.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: My husband and I plan to start a family, and I was told by my doctor that before I can realistically start one, I need to lose some weight. Plus, I want to be healthy for my husband and our future children.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I have an amazing support system in my husband, however 11 months ago when we got married I picked up a moved 12 hours away from my family and friends. It has put quite a bit of distance between me and a lot of people I miss greatly. It means that other than my husband, I really don't have much of a support system here. I do talk to my mom on the phone every single day though and keep in touch with a few good friends. However, we usually have more important things to discuss when we eventually get ahold of each other, so I'm not really discussing my weight loss with them. I am really going to be looking towards this forum for support in my weight loss journey.
