First name: Lilly

Geographical location: Technically Jacksonville, NC but in Sacramento, CA while my husband is deployed

Age: 24 (2 months shy of turning 25)

Marital Status: Incredibly happily married

Children/Ages: none

Occupation: Financial Aid clerk

Pets: no pets just yet

Hobbies/Interests: Museums, art galleries, traveling and anything outdoorsy. Love exploring new cities

Height: 5'4

Eye/Hair Color: Eyes are hazel, hair is brown for now

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Technically began again in June of 2009...been losing slowly but surely

Starting Weight: 187

Present Weight: 152

Goal Weight: reassessing to 130, but 140 for now

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Exercising when I feel lazy and overeating on weekends. During the week I seem to do fine because Im at work but on the weekends Im pretty much alone so I dont have anything else to do besides eat it seems.

Following any specific plan: 30 day shred DVD workout and keeping a food journal/calorie counting

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Well I always used weight as a crutch and kept it on because i wanted a guy to love me for me and to see past the exterior, I made a promise to myself years ago that when I finally found that guy I'd let go of my security blanket. My husband proved to be that guy and well now I have no reason to hold on to this weight. Plus I want to lose weight before I have a baby.

Anything else you would like to share with us: Im really trying to work through these discouraging plateaus

Height: 5'1"

First name: Melinda

Geographical location: Ohio, right outside of Cinnci.

Age: 25

Marital Status: Married

Children/Ages: None right now

Occupation: I work as a contractor in the pet care department of a pretty big corporation. I'm in the call center / administrative part of it. I call shelters to get pet care kits out to them for the new adoptee's so people are better informed on how to take care of their new animal, respond to e-mails with questions about our product, and will also be doing phone work like answering phones on a hotline we have for people who just lost their pet so they have someone to talk too.

Pets: None at the moment due to our apartment. But I love animals, which is needed at my job.

Hobbies/Interests: I play video games, watch movies, and read lots of books. I also love taking leisure walks in nature and take lots of pictures of things around me.

Height: 5'1"

Eye/Hair Color: Blue eyes and Brown hair.

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: July 16, 2011 - the last time I will ever need to start a diet (well, that is the plan).

Starting Weight: 258.4.

Present Weight: 258.4 (I only had one weigh-in).

Goal Weight: Well, right now I'm putting it at 140. Possibly, 130. But I wanted to do a realistic goal and I have no idea what I'll feel like once I actually get close.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: My love of food. Oh, and I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so am stationary a lot due to unable to exercise hard.

Following any specific plan: Just calorie counting right now. I am up for changing it eventually, but can't afford to pay for any kind of plan / food thing right now.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: My husband and I plan to start a family, and I was told by my doctor that before I can realistically start one, I need to lose some weight. Plus, I want to be healthy for my husband and our future children.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I have an amazing support system in my husband, however 11 months ago when we got married I picked up a moved 12 hours away from my family and friends. It has put quite a bit of distance between me and a lot of people I miss greatly. It means that other than my husband, I really don't have much of a support system here. I do talk to my mom on the phone every single day though and keep in touch with a few good friends. However, we usually have more important things to discuss when we eventually get ahold of each other, so I'm not really discussing my weight loss with them. I am really going to be looking towards this forum for support in my weight loss journey.

Age: 23

Marital Status: In a relationship

Children/Ages: None yet

Occupation: currently unemployed, but am a licensed RN, BSN and soon-to-be Certified Massage Therapist

Pets: none

Starting Weight: 151

Present Weight: 149

Goal Weight: short-term - 137, long-term - 123 or less

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weight loss: finding exercise that I'll enjoy doing regularly, staying away from temptation in the form of dessert and white rice (a staple in my family's diet)

Following any specific plan: Dukan diet for now, may switch to Slow Carb or Atkins later on if I feel extremely deprived

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I feel as though the literal weight I'm carrying represents all the metaphorical weight that's been with me most of my life, and this time I'm determined to get rid of it once and for all.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I graduated from college last spring and am still struggling to establish my footing in the real world. I know losing weight isn't going to work miracles, but I hope that achieving my weight loss goals will motivate me to make other changes in my life that I've been putting off for a while.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I struggle with my self esteem partially because of my weight, and feel alone a lot of the time. I live in a different state then my boyfriend 75% of the year, when I'm at school. We aren't that far and I see him almost every weekend. But food fills the void when he isn't around, and that has to change.
