New too...tried Fri, but where am I?

  • Hello, I tried this Fri, but I don't think it worked. I was disappointed today not seeing my post..........and to think I went to the store just to purchase a new beach umbrella and cool shades so I could hang out with the chicks on the beach in style....to gab and let the pounds melt away!!!!!

My hubby and I started the SBD on Feb 2nd....so I'm anxious to see how we did for the first week of Phase 2.

As I had written on Fri..the recipies here are GREAT....have tried many,
President's Chicken, Crockpot chili, Almond and Parmesan Crusted Chicken,
Dijon Fish, just to mention a few! This weekend I fixed the White Chicken Chili and the peanut butter cookies.....both a great hit with my hubby!!!!

For me the splenda seems to leave an aftertaste....it just might be a bad combo with the meds I take....but has anyone had any luck with cooking/baking with Equal or Sugar Twin? All suggestions welcome!

Gotta get the home laptop fixed cause I don't have much time here at work...gotta scoot. Hello to ALL...

    Patty
  • You really did make it on Friday! You posted in The Daily which is in the other forum called Fat Chicks On A Diet. Would you like me to move this post onto today's Daily?
Perhaps you could do an introductory post over there too or I can change this one to make it an intro.

    Cool shades and cool name!
  • Welcome, Patty! Try posting in the "Fat Chicks on the Beach" forum so more people will see your post, okay?

As for baking, Equal and Sugar Twin don't hold up to the heat of baking. You might try a combo of Splenda and sugar-free syrups (like DaVinci or Torani, used in coffee, usually) to cut the aftertaste. This website has an interesting theory on that (even though we aren't doing a low carb diet, this still has a lot of application for SBD baking): http://www.fabulousfoods.com/fitfab/.../artsweet.html
