TFL- Week of July 28th

  • Hi ladies,
    Better late than never, eh?

I hope everyone is having a good start to the week. It is amazing as I look at the weather maps how hot the US and I assume, Canada are right now.

    Stay inside and air conditioned.

Did everyone have a nice weekend? We puttered, took care of another basset, did chores and ate too much - got lots of exercise, but no where as much as I shoveled in. Bad lala.

Other than that, in DC for the rest of the week. I am soo not excited to get on that plane, but one small g&twithlime, nolemonin should knock me out for the rest of the flight.

I'll try and log in from DC as I'll be working. Have a great week ladies!

  • Hi lala: Sunday was my day to shovel it in. I sang in a concert and after that I was so famished, we went out to dinner. I took in an art show, but it was very small and not that great. DH and I saw a play that was really good. I'm trying not to eat cookies--latest red light food. Have fun in DC. It's actually an interesting city if you get out and about. Where are you staying?

Hello to Susan, Melissa and anyone else I've missed.

  • Hi lala, Domina. It's actually quite pleasant on this coast. The humidity is finally gone and temps are in the mid 20s C, just where I like 'em.

The weekend was busy but not too bad food-wise. I visited briefly with the in-laws before heading home to see my parents. My Dad was a bit under the weather - no appetite and a little weak - but I guess that's to be expected. On a brighter note, I read an encouraging article in the newspaper this morning about the medication he is taking.

Our departure date is fast approaching and I feel totally unprepared. The good news is that I'll have most of the weekend to pull it together; we leave late Sunday afternoon. I'll need every second of that time since I appear to have left everything until the last minute.

    Hope you're enjoying DC lala.
  • Hi everyone,

Susan -- glad you saw the folks. As for your upcoming adventure, remember you are going to a 1st world country, short of some special Canadian hiking things or your best hiking boots, they have everything in Austria. In fact, scarily enough, everywhere has everything. Sad fact of globalization.

Domina -- Cookies, um, yes. As I stare at a plate of cookies (not very good) that were sent up by the hotel yesterday. I did order them, but they were better than some of the other offers and don't need refrigeration.

I'm staying in Georgetown, but thank goodness its closer to Dupont Circle. Things must be slow, because I'm in a pretty big suite.

Other than that, I'm here for work and gosh darnit, I have to run!

I am officially going back to WW and dealing with this marginally toned fat person that I screamed at in the mirror this morning.

    Yikes.

Take care ladies! I'll be baaaack.

  • Yeah, it's Friday and I'm outta here just after lunch until September!!

We've spent the week trying to get the house in order - inside and out - in preparation for our trip. It's been hard to stay focused with the beautiful weather but I'm just about to the end of my list. Packing remains but that shouldn't take too long.

I weighed myself this morning and the earlier loss appears to be holding. Now if I can just concentrate on maintaining until I get back, I might be in a good position in September to go for the last 7 lbs. I wonder how many times I've said that in the last three years

Hope you all have a terrific August, whatever you're up to. I'll try to check in from Austria from time to time.

(I'd like to sign off in German, but can't even do that. It's gonna be an adventure..)
  • Safe travels Susan!

    Enjoy a glorious month off!
