Morning all.......I'm way behind on the daily, so I don't know what is going on with everyone. I'll just say, hugs to those who need it, a boot planted square on the butt for those that need that and a to everyone else.

Ruth I had a dream about you last night. I dreamed that I met you, and I saw Lucy, but not Hershey. Lucy was outside on the front porch, Hershey was inside with Harry.

I promise I won't tell you what our weather is today...........but, I hope to spend at least part of the day outside.

Went yesterday and had my hair chopped off and colored........cover the gray. It's really short!!

Well, I finally fixed my kitchen wallpaper that Lucy ripped away last year! I can't believe it took me so long to get to a job that took me only three hours! I had to do it because Kevin was ready to put on the baseboard. Don't ask about the bathroom - I'm still stripping! It definitely will be painted with a premade border - forget the stencilling idea! I am running out of steam.

I think some of the DHs, BFs and SHs we talk about need a good wake-up call. Let's tape them to chairs and hose them! Note that I said SOME. There are good men out there...and I don't mean Raoul and Sven! I've even met a few.

Healing thoughts to all the folks battling sickies and strength to the chickie warriors dealing with other crap! I've no words of advice except hang in there until you know what to do.

Off to soak and scrape - walls, not my body, although I might be able to scrape off some cellulite. Hmmmm.

Debkay, why the heck just on the porch? You could have frozen to death out there! Next time we'll go inside and meet Harry and Hersh and SCRAPE wallpaper. ROFLOL!

Good Morning everyone!

I have been productive today and it's just 10 am! I went to buy some potting soil and some wallpaper remover (you and I are doing the same thing Ruth!) and then got brekkie for everyone. Won myself a free donut from Timmy's (like I can eat it! ) and now I'm resting up for the wallpaper removal extravaganza in my bedroom. here it is March and I've done ZIP. Not good when my inlaws will be here in a scant 6 months.

Linda, Miss's post was not unnoticed, I honestly believe it's genetic in men. They want what they can't have and when they get it they realize that they didn't want it that much after all. How about my "going back to work" fiasco? Same thing, just a different version of what Miss is going through. I chalk it up to them being insecure and quite frankly, that makes me more powerful! LOL

I didnt respond because I used to be [note: USED to be] married to a man like that, and I didnt think Miss would want to hear me rant about him, and them tell her to leave the bum So....like my mom always taught me, if you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all!

Pooky, I wonder if its genetic, or men from that generation? Ive always loved the older men my hubby treats me like a queen .....I have never in my life loved someone as much as I love him. (he's much older).......when I get some pictures of the store scanned in I'll send them to you if you like.

I agree with Robin on the MissD SH subject - I just didn't have anything to say in the way of constructive advice. My experience is that a leopard can't change his spots and so you just have to look at the pros and cons and figure out what list is longer. Sometimes that is a very painful thing to do.

Hello everyone!

Call it a blond moment, but when I first saw "SHDH", I thought it meant "sweetheart", but now I understand!! I also have a SHDH (not always, but enough to call him that), who has grown out of it SOME, but still has a few moments. Money is always an issue, as I don't work "outside" the home. I'd like to know what the **** you call what I do in the house. If it wasn't for me, the boys wouldn't go to school, the dentist, any appointments, sports practices, etc. I've run "experiments" in the past to see how long it would take for a chore to get done if I didn't do it. It's amazing how someone can walk past a sink full of dishes or a full trashbag like it's not even there. Trust me, I could go on and on and on.......... Sometimes it is best to just let things slide.


On a more upbeat note: my parents should be arriving from Michigan sometime this afternoon. The house is clean, the kids are clean, and I'm about to get into the shower. AND, it is a beautiful, sunny warm day. Perfect.

If kicks in the pants are still being given out, I'll take one! I've decided to just wait until Monday, and start over. Hopefully I will still be down a couple of pounds, at least.

Linda: Thank-you so much for adressing my problem! I was beginning to think I was pouring my heart out, and no-one was gonna acknowledge! I'm not sure what to yet, just ride it out a while and see what happens, we are both so strong-willed and neither will give an inch--I am one who will go down fighting, and I'm not sure that helps sometimes. Thank-you thank-you thank-you though!!

Went to a party last night with a few girlfreinds--well, it wasn't really a party, but a gathering of sorts--Ok, OK, there was a PSYCHIC there--we paid 20 bucks for 15 minutes--Not sure I really belive in all that--but she did hit some things perfectly! Especially about SHDH and I!!!!! I went for entertainment reasons only, and I was entertained for sure! She told me I would be gaining employemnt within the next 2 months, and I would start making MONEY!!! WHOO__WHOO!! We'll see about that!

Well, I am waaaaaayyyyy off plan--so my only hope is that I don't gain any this weekend!!

Mis - I'm sorry I neglected to respond to your post. I was feeling so hyper over my good news that I completely fogot friends who saw me thru the bad news lately. I'm not sure I have anything constructive to offer, we're childfree and I've always worked, so I haven't been where you are, but it seems to me he's trampling all over the golden rule. The one about treat each other the way you'd want to be treated, not the one about "he who makes the gold makes the rules." Have you tired writing down your expectations and his? We did that and it did make a difference. DH and I definately don't split the chores 50/50, but he does take out the trash and put the toilet seat down, so I have to give him some points. He knows what I expect and now I have a better understanding of how clean he thinks the house should be to be considered "clean enough".

Off topic - the psychic sounds cool. I've always wanted to do that.

I hope your situation gets better, and if you need us we are here, even if we don't answer at first, cause we don't know what to say, you are in our thoughts.

If you're going to be off plan this weekend - go to Brighton's and have a pineapple shake for me, okay? There's no calories or carbs if you eat it for a friend, I promise.

Oh, those darned men. They sure can ruin a nice day, can't they (and in some cases, a nice life ) One little trick I have learned over the years of dealing with a perfectionist is that if the floor is clean, it seems to make up for a lot of other shortcomings. When the kids were little and had their toys scattered around the house, I'd do a quick pick-up when dh was expected home, greet him with a smile instead of a list of complaints, and hope he didn't notice the sticky fingermarks on the furniture. I guess I found enough good in him to keep me hanging in and I believe it's paid off, even though he can still get my goat without even trying. Nowadays our fights are mostly about the business. Trying to take care of paperwork after 10 pm isn't a good idea, especially when he's exhausted after a long day and I'm pooped from being "leisure queen".

Anyhow, I had a fairly busy morning. I vacuumed through the whole house and washed all washable floors. Then I kinda ran out of steam and ran some errands instead. I have a lot to do to get ready for my women's club Spring Workshop on Monday. As usual I have procrastinated and now have a long list of things that need doing before then. Ihave to bake something for our bake auction. I have to get my craft demonstration ready to demonstrate and I should have a quilt square made for our regional quilt but, of course, it's more important that I visit 3FC first.
