Joanne - glad you daughter is doing well. Now, if the headaches would just go away. Is it caused fromt he anesthetic? That stuff always makes me sick to my stomach and I get a raging headache to top it off.

Mima - I guess if you never get the money back from this person, it would be well to have her gone. Does she seem to consider herself part of the family as she was in attendance? You might do better on Atkins with your allergies. I did the Carb. Addicts diet once, long ago, when it first came out. I did lose 15 pounds, but it sure came back as well. Atkins is just easy. No fuzzy cooking, but really good food.

Well, I still have to have this cast on for 3 more weeks. It is a real pain in the snow I have had it on for 5 weeks already. All my blood work came back as normal, so I guess I am normal. Normal with a few odd quirks

I've never had a cast-that must be the pits. I lost 2.5 lbs already-I've never had a weight loss like that and I really look forward to my reward meal-The Atkins part is hard because I'm allergic to egg whites and dairy- but I'm doing better-when the weight came back, Anne, did you start eating carbs\ again-I think I can live with this diet but I might addd som elow carbs later-I'm actually losing too fast-suppossed to be 1.5 a week-and I'm 2.5 in 5 days-My grandaughter won the spelling bee at her school for the second year in a row!!!What a kid. Now she goes to the county. It's so cold here-Brda got his new truck today-Happy-happy- and he's trying to get the ice off the roof because it is melting into the hall-it's a regular skating rink down there-going to chop=worked an hour on the taxes. I am home and got to get myself into a good routine. I haven't been on the scale in about 2 wks. Tomorrow will do for reality. Came home and now I can doctor my son. He has a upper respiratory and has lost his voice. My sister has it too. Sure do hope we don't get it.

HI everyone i'm new here ,I have been reading your posts to see what we have in common,and it is EVERYTHING.. I also have Fm and started a low carb eating plan 3 weeks ago. I have lost about 7 pounds,but as you all know it is hard.This will not be the first time,I have lost 40 lbs 3 times in the last 20 years and gained it back plus more! as for headaches ,I used to get migraines all my young life but at20 years of age,I discovered on my own that I was allergic to MUSK oil. It is in so many perfumes. Now I stay away from them and warn people that come to my house not to wear it ,it was like a miracle,my headaches are totally gone! I know it is not always so simple,but you never know.Well thanks for listening ,I really enjoy reading about you.

Where do you live? I live in Western Canada, where we have been having a little taste of winter Oh, well, starting to warm up and by tomorrow it will be in the 30's, so I have nothing to complain about.

Joanne - so glad you got back home, but too bad everyone is sick. I hope you can escape it. I know the scale will be good to you tomorrow.

Mima - It is only for the first two weeks that he wants your carbs limited to 20 carbs a day. Then you start adding 5 carbs a week until you stop losing. I have been bad, lately. I need to get back at this seriously. I have not gained back anything, just maintaining. I think if I could walk more it would help, but that isn't really all the possible at the moment. In three more weeks, I will give it my best shot.

I would imagine that not exercising would restrict weight loss but maintaining is great!!!I have lost 20 lbs twice but this time I am happy to lose 12. I am following Heller's, not Atkins, and now I am psyched. Still hurting like crazy!!Probably from stuff I'm allergic too. I think I am going to swim today. It is so much warmer here-Yeah!!!Welcome back Joannne-I had some stupid cough thing most of the time I was in FL but I took zinc lozenges-I really think it takes the bite out of respitory illnesses. I live in Toronto, Ontario and today it is warm -10C windchill. I do get some walking in everyday back and forth to the school and the store with a carriage, about 1.5 hours total.But I have to be carefull about stretching or running,I'm always pulling muscles...even sneezing can do it,and i have sprained one ankle at least 10 times over the years..so theres no jumping around for me.haha.

Way past 40- Welcome ..I don't do too much jumping around either. I have osteoarthritis in both knee and evey other joint in my body. I do enjoy walking. I haven't done too much in the last few months. Pain has a way of stopping a person. I am going to try and get back to my routine. I need some motivation!!!
Happy I gained 3 lbs. I guess that isn't the end of the world but I want to lose another 15 or so. I think I am going to look up the WW number when I close here. I don't think Atkins is for me.
Mima- I hadn't thought of Zinc.. I will pass that on to my sick ones. Right now I am making the home remedy. Greek Chicken soup. (Made with eggs and lemon).

I am back from New York where I went to my cousin's funeral. When we hit New Jersey (on the way back home), it started snowing. I fell asleep in the back seat and my sister and her husband drove all night until we hit her house. I slept there for a few hours and then got up and drove my car home.

I am really having trouble with my computer. Took me an hour to get here.By here, I mean the 3fatchicks site. I think the only thing I can do on this computer now is my email.

Welcome to waypast 40...is there another name we can call you by? I live in TN and it has been really cold here...and lots of snow, too. It is supposed to warm up and rain now... all causes pain for me! I have Fibro, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis and migraines.

Ally...I went to the new Neurologist Monday. He took me off Neurontin and put me on Nortriptyline before bed at night and also told me to take a WHOLE flexeril before bed and another half during the day...PLUS increasing my Buspar. If I do ALL that...I'll be a Zombie! I'm starting out with 100 mg. of the Nortriptyline and every 5 days I increase 100 until I get to 500! I slept for 11 hrs. last night!!! Well...he told me I HAD to start getting more sleep if I wanted to get rid of the headaches...and...I don't have a headache today! Problem is...if I keep this up...I won't have a LIFE either!

We are in the middle of redecoration my bathroom. We got the base coat of paint on and now ALL I have to do is "sponge" paint it with a darker color of gray. I've never done any sponge painting before... Hubby got the paneling up around the whilrpool and is going to build the matching "box" thingie that goes in front of the tub. The one he tore out was too big...stuck out in floor too far and had carpeting on it. He's making the new one smaller and using paneling on it like what's around the tub. Then, Sat. he's putting down new Formica flooring. When I get new curtains up and the stuff back on the wall, I'll make a picture to show you all (that is...IF I do a good job on the sponge painting!!!) Gotta get all this done before next Tuesday...I'm afraid the Dr. is going to put a cast on my right ankle and then I won't be able to finish it and get this mess all put back! I also have to clean out my walk in closet this weekend sometime. It is now officially a "reach" in closet because you CAN'T walk in it!!!

Meme-sounds like your bathroom will be pretty-we have a whirlpool but it is broken but it's on the list. We do not have a hole in the roof-the ice builds up and pushes down on the roof. We have a heater but I threw it up on the roof and we did not install it before we left and then.... the rest is hstory. Getting the roof fixed this spring-we are inheriting a small amt from selling Brda's mother's house but I think we have to pay back medicaid from when his father was in the nursing home-once I inherited some money and 18 months later the state came after it-Luckily I had it in the bank but my brother had spent his. I have big sinus problems today-at my reward meal I have been eating wheat-bad!!!!Was back up a lb yesterday but that's ok cuz I know it's coming off. I wish I could send some of this wet stuff somewhere!!! I'm about ready for some sun and spring!

Luckily the money my mother left was in both our names. When I went to the bank to see what I had to do they said, "NOTHING". They said when money was in two people's names like that it belonged to both of them and when one died the other one didn't have to do anything except have the deceased's name taken off the account. So I didn't even have to pay any death taxes on it. The mobile home she lived in was also in both our names and since I'm just renting it, I left it that way. They said at the County Court Clerk's office that I could even sell it with her name on it if I wanted to...I'd just have to bring in a death certificate when I did. I wish hubby's parents would do something like that. They have quite a bit of money and land and they haven't made any arrangements or wills! If they go into a nursing home, medicare & medicaid will take everything they have! Sometimes, I think when you get over 70, you're better off if you don't have much! (I won't have to worry then, will I!)

Mima...if I were you...I'd hunt the girlfriend down and drag her into court and MAKE her pay back what she owes...then I'd get a restraining order and tell her to stay away from me and my family!!! If she was an exwife it MIGHT be a little different (and then, maybe not!...I have very little patience with people like that! I love kids, animals & old people but run out of patience with incompetent, middle age adults!)
