  • Today is what feels like my new year. Classes start today! New term and I'm rarin' to go.

I hopped on the scale this morning and wasn't happy with what I saw (though not surprised). I think I have now planned for success for the week. Cooked a great soup I'll be eating for dinner this week. And have my other food all set.

What are you doing to ensure success today?
  • Morning ladies,

Heather, you beat me to the new thread. I was just headed here to do that. And procrastinating getting ready for work.

I got my exercise room cleaned up yesterday and decluttered. Time to get back at it.

Food was pretty good this weekend. I even drank water which is something I don't do when I'm at home.

Not much on my mind this morning. to all!
  • Morning Ladies!

Back to work today. Back into a routine. I'm actually happy about it. I am going to be successful today!! I packed my lunch/snack bag with healthy options for the day. I have logged my calories and I'm hitting the gym right after work. I will NOT give into any late night snacking, which has been my big downfall lately!

I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL TODAY! I am commited and determined!

    Let's do it!

Have a happy & healthy day!!!

  • Feels like my new year too! Today will be a POP day for me also and I'll be hitting the gym tonight!

Heather - tell me about your soup.
  • Carol -- It's sort of a minestrone, but with no meat, but using chicken stock.

I basically took onions and carrots and zuchini and peppers and get them soft over low heat in 1-2 tsp olive oil, then turn up heat and add garlic and red pepper flakes. Then I added 2 cups tomato puree, one can diced tomatoes, one can chick peas and one can kidney beans and some pasta (about 100 g). Then 4 cups chicken stock. Throw in some italian spices and a splash of balsamic before serving. Voila!

It makes 8 servings for us. Yummy and nutritious!
  • Heather - the soup sounds great - I'm always on the lookout for a great pot of soup.

I did it! A POP day and exercise to make it even better - that's 1.

Schools are already all cancelled for tomorrow due to the cold - hope that doesn't wreak havoc with the gym schedule - I'll be there!
  • Me Too!!! A great day! I felt in control of all my actions. Food was great, got in a good workout. I'm going to bed feeling very proud of myself!

Heather...the soup sounds yum! DH bought WAY too many veggies with his juicer craze so I'm going to have to make a big pot. He doesn't seem to realize that veggies don't say fresh forever.
  • I think we all love our routines. Makes everything much easier.
  • I cant seem to get into the groove. I do great one day and blow it the next...
Today is the day. I am also going to call my dr about a med I take for IBS. It causes weight gain and being tired is a side effect. I was able to go almost 2 yrs without taking it. Going to try eating right and talk to my dr and see what he thinks about me weaning off it ..
  • Good Morning Gals!

Is everyone ready for a great day! Remember...you have the control to make it great!

DG - My pattern has been the same lately...a streak of one great day. Well...today is a new day. Let's do it! One day at a time, one after another....we can get back in the groove!!!

    Time for work.
  • Knock, Knock...anyone home?
  • Me. I'm home and getting ready for bed. Day was fantastic. Can't say the same for tonight. Damage control tomorrow. YUCK!
  • I am limiting my computer time . I get on in the mornings and that has been it.I am finding my step totals are alot higher when I dont sit here for hours reading and playing.
I am starting to feel in control with food again. Had a POP day yesterday and got my walk dvd done. Scales are going down.
We are cold are going to get even colder over the weekend. We are suppost to get our 1st snow of the season tonight. I am ready for one good snow and then bring on spring!!
Hope everyone has a good day!!
  • Hi ladies,

The weather this week has been kicking my butt. Last night I had sort of a mini-meltdown. Either than or it was a hormone rush and a hot flash. Trying to take care of the animals was just miserable last night. It didn't help that I had a hair appointment that took way too long and it was late when I got home. I was pretty much done with winter. Not that winter cares if I'm done or not. We're getting another beating today.

The Medifast program is going well. The scale is down and that is a relief. I'm actually kind of liking having the food this way so that I don't have to plan everything out. Just grab and go. That shows me that as I transition back, I will need to develop a plan where the food is balanced out and all I have to do is grab it and go.

Take care ladies. We're all getting hit pretty hard with the weather so be warm and be safe. Got to get my rear-end moving and off to work.
