Good morning! Just a short fly by to let you all know I am not going to be here until Thursday. We are taking a short trip for our anniversary, which is today. (30 years!) The surprise party for Erik went really well yesterday. He was surprised...and there were a lot of people here. I actually got some help, which was great. I even made Justin cut up vegetable! I tried to avoid bad stuff, but did have a smallish piece of cake late last night. My blood sugars are terrible this morning because of that, and because I did not take my evening shot of Byetta. When I remembered it, I had already eaten some veggies and fruit and you HAVE to take it before you eat or you can seriously crash into hypoglycemia.
We head out as soon as we can get packed to a cabin up in North Georgia in the mountains. I plan to spend LOTS of time in the jacuzzi and hot tub.
I will ask the other mods to check in and make sure everything is ok. Don't miss me too much!
Good Monday morning. I'm up early today for a change.... Hope Monet is off having a great time. We went out of town shopping yesterday. Just a trip to Lowe's and Wal Mart. Stopped at our favorite Mexican place for lunch. I didn't do to well. Anyway I lost 1 lb. this week and I'll take that... Haven't walked on the treadmill yet this morning. Will be back later...
TONI: I'm around! Not doing much - it's my birthday today! I used to try to celebrate it for a week - now it goes by pretty much unnoticed!! HA! We are going to buy my bike today and going to have dinner at Outback! YUM! Well, I'll check back in later!
Just enjoying a extra day off. Haven't done a thing but rest and get ready to cook supper. Having homemade chicken strips and sweet potato curley Qs and boiled okra. And boiling the girls some corn on the cob. Haven't been OP this weekend at all I don't know what the deal is. I did so good up until the last 2 weeks have to get it together. Hubby will be home this coming friday...hes been on the road 5 weeks as of friday. I will not let him to that again we missed him way to much!
Fruit-Happy Birthday I loveeee Outback!!! Have fun with your new bike.
Toni-I here....lol. Will be running around like a chicken with it head cut off tomorrow tho.
Monet-Have a wonderful time and Happy Anniversary!!!!!
WIM: I was at 121.5#, so I'm yo-yoing a bit, but hope to be back down to 120# soon. My TOM hit, and I feel like eating anything that is not tied down.
The girls and I are making muffins today. Since Britt is allergic to so many foods, it is easier to make a lot of her stuff...then I know she's safe.
Monet: Happy Anniversary. Enjoy your trip away; it sounds like a fun little getaway. I hope the board stays hopping while you are away. We look forward to hearing about it when you get home (well, some of it anyway ).
Toni: Congrats on the loss!!
Fruit: Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy your dinner at Outback!
Thunder: Enjoy the quiet day off. It's kind of a lazy day here to. Altho, I did get to the gym this morning.
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I went to Outback and it was so good! I even ordered cheesecake for dessert - I never order dessert!! It was so yummy! I pretty much blew it this weekend so I need to get back on track tomorrow - I'm sure I'm up a couple of pounds now!! We didn't get to stop and get my bike - Alexis was too cranky so we'll get it this weekend!
Can't get over it not being Monday. Yesterday seemed like Sunday. We got all our windows washed yesterday. It is going to rain today, go figure. Oh well, at least they are clean.
Ballgame was a bummer. But I knew going into it, it would be. Eating was so-so at the game. I took subway, which only counted 5 points, but could not avoid the chicken wings, cheese puffs(my biggest problem and rice krispie treats). But right back on plan yesterday. The scale was up 4 lbs yesterday, but that was due to not taking my water pill in the afternoon. It is gone today thank goodness.
We did get a good 30 minutes at the gym yesterday. They were closing so we didn't have a lot of time, but I did the elliptical machine for 30 minutes. I have never made it that long before. Then last night, DD & I took a 45 minute walk. The MMM has me down 3lbs since last MMM.
DH has a ballgame tonight so we won't get to the gym, unless it is cancelled due to rain.
Hope Monet is having a relaxing time in the hot tub.
Toni, Mexican is hard. One of my favorites. I now count out my chips and push the basket away. Just get back on track and you will be fine.
Missy, Happy Belated Birthday. I knew it was this week but my computer at home is not hooked up. Hope you had a great day and wonderful dinner at Outback.
Thunder, We are sending the wagon for you. I know BOB is tuned up on Rocky Top. Jump on and get right back on track. You have been doing great. 5 weeks is a long time. How long will he be home this time?
Pancho, Can Britt eat any of the food at school or do you have to pack a lunch for her?
Susan, Hope you had a great day yesterday too.
I'm off to catch up on posts that I missed over the weekend. Be back later.
Wow, it is so quiet today. I hope the board picks up.
Britt just left for school with her best friend. They lost their dog last Thursday; she somehow got into the hot garage and died before anyone found her. She was a 3-yr old Golden Retriever and was such a sweet, beautiful dog....it is such a shame. We just found out last night and both of my girls were really upset!! I am sure this week will be difficult for the family. She was a part of their family!
Lane has her first day of school tomorrow; she seems excited. I know she is a little nervous since she has been a little clingy to me lately.
I went to the gym on Saturday and yesterday, and I will go tomorrow. I am going to have to miss Friday since I have that MRI. I hope to get at least 3-4 days in at the gym every week, unless I have a sick kid at home (like I did on Friday), or I'm volunteering at school, or on a field trip, or at a doctor appt....... O.K....maybe 3 is more realistic .
I did weigh myself this morning and was at 120#, but I don't know if it will stick or not; I'll wait awhile before changing my ticker.
It is so nice to see all the Fall stuff making it into the stores; I just wish our weather would cool off.
Fruit: Glad you enjoyed your birthday dinner. It only comes around once a year! Just make sure you are able to jump back on; it's often difficult once you fall off. I think you have the motivation this time to get back on track. Isn't it funny how "easy" things were before having a baby in tow? You could just run as many errands as needed and get everything done, even if it made you get home late. Not anymore.....you have a new little dictator around, and she will be the one to call the shots for awhile! Maybe you should get your bike the first stop this weekend .
Fillise: YES, Happy Birthday to you. How are you doing????
Solly: I'm horrible with Cheeto-type chips. I don't like the messy regular Cheeto brand....but I buy some at Trader Joes and Whole Foods that are so good, I can't put them down when I start. 30 minutes on the elliptical is AWESOME!!! You are doing so well. Sometimes having to count and be accountable makes all the difference. I do have to pack Britt's lunch everyday. She is allergic to over 160 foods. I have to try to eliminate gluten (which includes oats), wheat, corn, dairy, peanuts completely. AND, other foods, I have to try to rotate every 9 days. EX: If she had a hamburger patty last night, she shouldn't have beef for 9 more days....We have gotten creative....buffalo, ostrich, different kinds of fish. It is tough to feed her, but she does pretty well, and is such the trooper. If it were my youngest, she'd be sick all the time because she wouldn't follow the rules as well. She is a rebel (ha).
Yesterday was my daughter's birthday too! So, MMM was the same for me this week. I might have had a loss if it were not for the cake and Ruby Tuesday's burger that somehow appeared in front of me this weekend!
We started planning for our trip this weekend, and I am really getting excited! Craig's brother and his wife are going with us. The motel we stay at has kitchenettes so we will eat in most nights. It should be a lot of fun. We are planning to send the boys out to the grill while we do veggies some nights!
Well, gotta go! I have a "patient"!
Its almost noon. I can't believe my computer has been acting up so bad I've fought to get over here. Its soooo slow. I walked on the tm this morning. And made me a kind of zucchini pancake for breakfast. I felt I'm not getting enough vegetables in my diet. Not much going on today, I guess I'm still lazy from the week end.
Fruit- Glad you had a good time at Outback and enjoyed your birthday. I love there cheesecake with the chocolate sauce on it. Good thing the nearest one is 2 1/2 hours from here.
Pancho- How sad about the dog. I feel so bad for the family. Wow you do have to work hard on Britt's food. Is there a chance she'll out grow her allergies? Good job on losing the last lb. Hope it sticks.
Solly- Good job on the exercise. Know about those water pills. If I'm going out for the day I'm bad to skip mine so I don't have to run to the bathroom in every store. Good luck on your MRI.
Thunderwoman- How'd those chicken strips turn out?
Well guess I need to go find something for DH's lunch. Have a good OP day.
