Default Fibromyalgia #134

Welcome Iwillbe . Sorry the Dr. reacts that way, but that is exactly how my feet feel and it sure is hard to do anything physical when they are hurting like that. This started about 6 months ago, and doesn't seem to be going away. They say FM doesn't get worse, but I sure don't agree with them on that one.

I also have Osteoarthritis in my lower back and hip, so life can be really fun some days. I do notice that sugar causes me more pain. I also can't go on the South Beach Diet because the was it works, my heart starts an unhealthy arrythmia (I do have Atrial Fibrillation as it is). The heart specialist told me the most sound diet is WW, so I have to try it again, but the loss is soooooo slow for me, but I will just keep plugging away.

So many new people. That is so great. It will just take us a bit to get your names down pat. Tammy we know as she was the only new one for a long time , but don't worry we will get to know you too.

Not much going on here, other the weather is fabulous for us in Western Canada. Up in the 40's after being almost 40 below for a couple of weeks. Feels like summer here

Bye for now.

So happy Canuk - you're not the one I should complain to when it gets in the 30's are you? It was beautiful here today - but I think you were close to our temp!! How did that happen

Day was good. I don't do more than 4 massages a day because my body can't handle it yet. Today I did 5. BUT I had a massage tonight and my chiropractor will adjust me tomorrow.

I went today and got my pain meds filled - just in case i need them on vacaton. Nothing like being away from home and in that kind of pain! I have not needed them for a bit now - AS LONG as I don't cheat AT ALL and I take my vitamins. I have to be perfect - which I won't be on vacaton...so I'm taking the meds.

Today I had a wonderful thing happen. I have not seen my massage therapist for 3 weeks - she is a class mate. Her husband and my Bf are also friends so we usually eat dinner out each week..anyway, long story short - I walked in tonight and her husband yelled "oh my god, look at how skinny you are!" Then he followed with the ever so popular "not that you were fat before......" He starts guessing how much weight I've lost and guessed 12 pounds (it's 20) and my massage therapist goes "no way, she had all that fat on her back!" ug - that was the low part but otherwise it was a great comment He wanted my food list (boy is he in for a shock ) and just kept telling me how great I looked. It made my whole month

No one ever comments on how I look. - good or bad. They just don't comment. He is the first person to comment like that without me asking flat out if they can tell I've lost. I was thrilled!!!!

LG, isn't it wonderful to get compliments? I know I'm still getting used to it when I run into someone that I haven't seen for a while.

There is a massage ther. where I get my hair cut. Maybe I'll should call and just make an appointment. I'm afraid that she'll hurt me though. I'm a chicken.

LG, it is a good thing you are taking pain meds with you, for insurance. If you DON'T have them, then you will need them. That's Murphy's Law, isn't it I hope you have a great time. That was a great compliment and from a male, yet!!! All I can say, is you must look great. They don't notice much most of the time

Tammy - I hope your hand is coming along well. Must be unpleasant. My GF had both her hands done, one in Nov. and the other in Dec. She is a secretary and will be off for another couple weeks still. Her left hand was the last and it isn't healing right.

Well, I am off to bed, and looking forward to another beautiful day tomorrow. No cold front in sight for the next week, anyway!!!

Daughter came through the surgery good. Hernia wasn't as big as they originally thought ... so that was good news. Dr. said he did some 'poking around' in there (his words not mine) just to make sure everything else looked ok and didn't find anything else wrong. She's in quite a bit of pain but she's a woman so ... she'll survive. I'm going to bed ... I'm pooped and I'm sure they'll find more for me to do as the week progresses!

Thank you for the welcome Happy Canuk, Oh my gosh, you have been in pain for six months??? I thought it was bad that I have been disabled since Christmas. I blamed it on all of the work I did making dinner for 20 people. It could be that it was the sweets I ate around that time. I do believe that sugar brings on pain for me. It seems I have noticed it before, but this is the worst case I have had in a long time. I just want it to go away. I am sure you do too.

I want to increase my activity level anyway I can, so this morning I am using my weights and hope I don't make things worse. Because of the way I have been trying to walk, I have got my hip hurting now also. It just never ends, does it?

I am glad I found this site and this thread. All of you can understand how frustrating it gets to try to lose weight when you can't do all of the intense exercise that others can. I am going to hang in there and give it my best shot though. I really need to get some weight off my feet and legs. Ouch!

Have the very best day that you can manage. Iwillbe

Default Hey There

Now all you good people are going to say AAGGGHHH!!!It is supposed to hit the 70's here today. Mima is probably warmer.. I must go tell hubby to turn off the heat...In about a week we will be cool again..
Iwillbe-" I Can "is a slogan I use.. I see you have a lot to lose,.OK take it a pound at a time.Don't look at the big picture. It makes you want to say,"I Can't". If you have a Tops group in your area try to go .. It is not only a weight loss group but a support group.. WW is good but they cost more. You can use any food plan you want at Tops.. Start with passive exercise that doesn't cause pain. If you hurt when you exercise you won't keep it up.I do both..
Meme- Glad your daughter did well. Tell her not to do what I did. I did too much after surgery and had to do it all over again..She is lucky to have you..
Grasshopper - Good for you on your weight loss. Keep up the good work.. Have fun on your vacation but don't blow your eating plan too much..
Happy- I can't imagine 40 below. I can take 40 above for a few days. I just worry about my plants. We have to cover everything when it gets colder. Then in a couple days uncover it all. WW really is a good food plan. It takes longer but it if you change your way of eating after awhile it will just seem normal. My son used to complain that we had nothing that wasn't Fat Free in the house. Now he is getting married to a girl that lives a healthy lifestyle. He will change his ways and she has him jogging..and going to church..
Tammy- Hope the hand isn't hurting quite as much..Pamper yourself while you can..
All you guys I missed.. I got to wash the breakfast cups.Back later...Joanne

Good morning. I still have a little pain from the cystoscopy but I guess that's normal. I am still decorating-bought some borders to put up. One to go for the guest room-I have turned into my mother-all she did was decorate. We ahve to study for our FL license test because we registered the car here-glad we don;t have to take a road test. Just taking a break-imagine -pasting wallpaper outdoors-this is as good as wrapping the presents outside. Sorry guys-I shouldn't make you jealous. I don't think there's any more room for people to live here-it's so crowded. Bye Mima

Got some Dufus asking me Bible Questions via email. Hurting my brain here! I'm in so much pain my skin hurts ... don't need my BRAIN to hurt, too!

I'm STILL cold - I think my blood must've dropped another notch.

No decorating for me. I'd be really happy if my cleaning was done. Wish it would STAY done once it was done!

Somebody asked for exercise without having to exercise ... once again I say Oxycise. http://www.oxycise.com 15 minutes a day will do it. And as for what do I eat? I drink ... a Boost for breakfast and a high energy drink ... such as an Atkins yogurt drink or Nourishe or something ... during the day along with a couple cups of Yerba Mate tea and maybe some green tea and then I eat my dinner and whatever else I want whenever I feel hungry. And lots of water, too. It's better to drink the Yerba Mate tea about 30 minutes before you eat if possible, but not necessary if you can't. If you do that, you'll lose weight. (My blood is low, hence the vitamin and protein drinks ... I also chew vitaball gum ... all that with the tea and the Oxycise tapes will give you a lot more energy.)

Feel better everybody and stay warm.

Good morning! Congrats to weight losses. I need to slow down today-I think I am bleeding still. I put some wallpaper borders in the guest room-not perfect. We have those blinds with cornice tops so I papered on the cornices. Going to the Gaithers tonight.
meme-the answers you give may be important to that person's beliefs but I do understand your impatience. I would be happy if my kids asked me questions. Or anyone else. But you put yourself out there with your website. Feel better. Mima

Mima ... if it were like that I wouldn't mind answering their questions all day long. As a matter of fact, I have corresponded with people who have had several SINCERE bible questions and never gotten impatient with them. It's just that this man is a college professer and is 'picking' at things on my bible study site trying to find something ... so I'm having to 'defend' - and I don't like that. I was about ready yesterday (after his THIRD email) to tell him to take a hike when my 'Christianity' kicked in! I was just having a bad day (fibro wise) yesterday and didn't feel like fooling with explaining anything ... let alone the way the High Priest dressed when he went into the Holy of Holies on the Day of Atonement and why he wore bells on the bottom of his robe. He FINALLY apologized last night ... said he "didn't mean to be disrespectful." I get quite a bit of mail like that and my family always tells me to ignore it ... but I can't do that. Like you say, I put myself out there so I almost always answer my mail, but it takes up a lot of my time.

I still think my thyroid is too low ... I'm STILL freezing today. And to make matters worse, I just had a customer ... an older man who evidently didn't have anything else to do today ... so he stood outside and TALKED me to death. I was a popcycle when I got back inside. I don't think I'll ever be warm again!!!

I got the stitches out today! I am soooooooooooo glad that I won't be going back to school until Feb. 7. My hand is definitely not ready for grading papers yet. I'll be getting the left hand done sometime, but I'm not sure when.

Meme, good news for your daughter. Hope she is feeling better soon. I'm glad people don't ask me Bible questions. I don't feel confident enough to answer most questions.

Iwillbe, just keep hanging in there!!! As the weight comes off, you'll feel better. Take it one day and one pound at a time. Slow but steady is the way to go.

Mima, I'm SURE that you could find room for all of us!!!! I agree that you do need to slow down!! The Gaithers will be wonderful!! Enjoy and tell us all about it.

Mary, good for you on the 2 pounds!!! I lost 2 of the pounds that I gained over the holidays.

I did a weight loss thingy for in my signature, but it isn't coming up. I had one in the WW forum here, tried to update it, and now it's gone. I've redone it about 5 times and I'm finally giving up. Maybe later I'll have some patience again.

I'm trying to figure out why the signatures won't work ... if anyone wonders why my posts keep coming and going here!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK ... I finally got it! Tammy ... your signature didn't work because 3fc is giving you TOO MUCH code. I took your code you have posted in your message above and went to my signature and put it in and it did the same thing. Then I took away the action hyper reference code (a href) and left only the URL and voila ... I have your tracker in MY signature below. OK ... in language you can understand ... (in case you are wondering, I'm a web designer) just copy and paste the code below into your signature but you have to do it a certain way. Here's what you do. Go up to the top and click on User CP. Then from the list, click on Signature. When the box pops up, at the top will be a little box that looks like a postcard. Click on that box and a long box will pop up. Paste the URL code below into that box and click OK ... it will paste it into your signature box and your picture will show up in ever one of your messages. When your weight drops, you can go back and change it and it should automatically change in the picture.
I will have to break the URL line in two ... if I don't it will show up as a hyper link with dots but you'll have to copy them and make sure there are no spaces after you paste them.
Meme, I was using the wrong address in my signature. A friend in the WW forum wondered if that's what I was doing, and she was right. Duh to me! Thanks for helping me out though!!
Well, we'll see if it shows up in my signature since it is showing up in yours. lol
