Default Fibromyalgia #25

Hi guys...(gals).

Hope you are all doing better than me! I spent 1/2 day in the park with my daughter-in-law and 4 grandchildren in 90+ degree weather...not a very pleasant experience!!! Then we went to Burger King to eat and the kids played there, too. Then home and gave Ross and Jenna both a bath and took a shower and crashed for the rest of the evening! It will take me the rest of the week to get over today!!! Don't you just hate that about the fibro? (I hate EVERYTHING about the fibro!)

I am hurting sooooo bad. Called the Rheumatologist today to set my app. up (not until last of Aug.) but they didn't call me back. Hope I can get it sooner. I need to see him (or...he needs to see me!) All I want to do is sit (or lay)...which ever one I can do comfortably...and sometimes that is neither! Been reading and watching a lot of movies the last couple of weeks.

Sorry I can't remember what everyone said on the last thread...I DID read it! Just can't remember!

I did remember Ally's boys fighting. Don't know what's worse...when the little ones fight or when they grow into teens and are STILL fighting!!!

I enjoyed all the flowers on the other thread but everything was getting to tedious to load...even with a cable modem! Candice you must have some green thumb on you! Better not get arthritis in it like I have in mine...might affect your flowers!

Have a good tomorrow everyone!

Default Hello

I can't go to water exercise because I have to let my muscles recover from my long walk yesterday. But we had a good time. I have a problem with my index finger 0n my right hand. Tried doing needlepoint with my left and it wasn't too bad. What a storm we had last night-hit the power lines across the street and startesd a fire in the ground. No electricity for a couple of hours but I found out one of the benefits of living in a condo. Not only are lights on in the hall from a generator but you can get together at someone's apt. to pass the time. One of the womwn said that you have to have something physically wrong with you to live here. I guess I can stay. The woman across the hall has aplastic anemia which is eventually fatal. She is in remission.I guess its true about trading fo someone else's burden. You wouldn't.
Waiting for my friend to call-she had her gallbladder out so I said I'd go over today. Stay cool.Mima

Mima...We are having storms in NY state too, but I won;t be going to any neighbors should the lights go out.
Thanks to my obnoxious kids, no on ein the neighborhood ever looks me in the eye!!
Meme....I'm achy too. And PMS. Someone sent me all the possible meanings of PMS today. My favorite was Pass My Sweatpants.
Ohhhh. I have my fat pants on today and my stomach feels like I am 9 months pregnant.
That couldn't be the Little Debbie Donuts already?????
My kids are being nice because they want something, and they aren't going to get it....but I will take the peace and quiet for as long as I can.

Default sun itch

Hey Meme-When I was in my 20's-a very long time ago=I got that rash from the sun and I would get an anti-histamine shot when I went to the beach but when it wore off-I went nuts!!!!Now I cannot go into the sun in the middle of the day .I wear sunscreen but that doesn't help totally. Also-medications can be a factor.
Hey-I was down 2 lbs. yesterday.Hope it stays off. Still feeling achy-can't eat what I'm allergic too for a while. It's gloomy here today.I'm going to wrap some things up because I'm going to WORK on Monday, for 8 days, coming home for the weekend in between.I don't know if I'll take my laptop-I don't think I will have a local access number.Have a great day everyone!!! Default Hello

Ally, it is going to be a loooooong summer for you. I am sure glad that I am over raising those young ones. Would really not want the job again, at least full time. I have never heard of Little Debbie Donuts, but I am sure they are like Tim Hortons as far as calories go. I swear donuts bloat me. I eat very few of them for that reason. I feel like I actually swell up. Donuts, beer and pancakes do that to me as well. Just put on your sweats and do what you have to do.

Meme - to bad you are having so much pain. So many people wish for money or more material things. People with chronic pain, wish to a painfree day. At least the money and material goods are attainable. It appears that the painfree day, isn't - for most of us. Just even a tolerable amount of pain would be acceptable.
I was just talking to a friend of mine who was diagnosed with FM a couple of years ago. Now the Dr., says it isn't FM, it is Lupus. She can't go out into the sun, or she breaks out in a rash. The type of Lupus she has, has to do with her skin. I don't understand it, but I guess it is painful as well, just like FM. The stiffness and soreness.

Mima -Congratulations on the weight loss. That is wonderful. My daughter told me last night, she has now lost 62.5 pounds. She is nearing the end of her weightloss journey and will be starting the harder journey or keeping it off. She has done so well, and she feels so good. Sorry to hear that you are having to much pain as well. Sure keeps you from enjoying what you want to do!

Tootie - Hello. If you see this, send me an e-mail. I will then know that you are able to read at least.

Well ladies, have a great day.

They thought I had Lupus at one time...But I'm sure the sun allergy is from the gold shots, that is one of the many side effects. They also thought I had polymyalgia rheumatica at one time...I don't think they still know for sure what all I have wrong with me. They say Carpal Tunnel, tendinitis, Fibro, Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis along with spastic colon, migraine and PAT (changes in the peripheral arterial tone). How can somebody have so much wrong with them yet not be about to die???

I'm getting my massage tomorrow at one...I'll probably be so sore Sunday I won't want to move! I called the Rheumatologist and got my app. set up from last of Aug. to July 9. I doubt it does any good though...he probably won't do anything to help...hasn't in several years now! At least maybe he will give me some more pain pills...I'm about out. I had my wrist brace on in the car today and baby granddaughter was up front with me. She took my hand and layed it over on her car seat and said "Meme hand hurt"? I said yes, Meme's hand hurts. She leaned down and said, "Me kiss Meme hand". Wasn't that sweet?

Default Hello

It was so great reading all the messages. Now I can't remember who wrote what to reply!!!!!!!!DUH!I went to my singles group last night and an old friend said he had been trying to get in touch with me.He disappeared last time I went out but everything is purely platonic. And that feels safe. And I disappear every once in a while because I keep traveling.
Last summer I sold my 8 room house because all my money was going into it and I couldn't keep up with it-I also had a pool. Now I live in a brick building that was converted into condos. I was able to pay cash and I am finally mortgage free. I have 4 rooms and I can clean the whole thing in an hour if I ever wanted to do that. Only when company comes.I do have a famly overhead with heavy footsteps but very nice.It was a good move. And my kids had to get their own place. And the dog left too.It is a real adjustment and I miss my flowers. Haven't had much luck with them on my balcony.Ally-someday you will look back on this and will not believe how you survived. I had good friends and a support group and now my son tuned out to be the best kid-this was after running away from home, getting arrested, dopping out of high school in hes senior year.He ended up getting his GEd and finally going to college. He now has a degree in engineering technology and has a great job.Don't give up but set boundaries.Boy,am I on a soapbox!!!hAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE. MIMA

Bless YOur Heart Mima. That is the stuff I need to hear. I post on one other site and when I say something about my kids fighting usually one of the other women report back with a story equally challenging. But a MAN posted that I should call the police. Now he is miffed because I told him that I was just venting, not really asking for him to tell me what to do.
MEN. I tell you. He is the only man on this site, and a woman left after stating that the goal of the site seems to be to soothe his ego. I think this is true of most men. Unless the site is there for their comfort, why would they be on it?
Maybe I'm wrong. I dont know about men on other sites. Happy, I haven't read Clouds lately. Are there men there? Maybe fibro men actually have some compassion.
ANd Little Debbie.......well, Anne. They are a cheaper version of Hostess and just full of cr-ap.
I am achy both cause of NY rain, and cause of too much sugar. But it is soooooooo addictive.
Next week, I am cleaning things up a bit although I am still doing the fiber. I just started sneaking sugar in there and that has to stop.

Default Hello all

Ally, I KNOW about the sneaking in stuff syndrome. It is like FM, has no real reason to happen, it just does. Isn't that what everyone tells us about FM?

The great news is, that since I started these Upper Cervical treatments, I am sleeping so much better. I took only one Elavil on Tuesday and have had none the rest of the week. Just one all week. It feels good to wake up naturally, and I have been having good quality sleep. Nice and deep. Never even heard the storm last night. That alone, is worth it's weight in gold - not to have to rely on meds to help. Also, the fibro pain is a lot less, no pain in my shoulders, neck or arms (after 1st treatment that went away). I am not saying I am completely pain free, because the arthritis in my back is still bugging my, but a whole lot less. The best it has been in the past 6 yrs. anyway. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT WE ARE EVEN HAVING RAIN TODAY, AND I SHOULD FEEL TERRIBLE!!!!!! Sure hope this continues - the Chiro says it takes 4-6 weeks to stabalize the top 2 vertebra, and I have only been going for 11/2 weeks, so I still have a ways to go. Anyway, I am so pleased with the results.

Now on to something else that sounds ridiculous, but it really works. To bad you can only buy it in Canada yet, and only in
Western Canada - only 15 miles from where I live. It is called Sprouting Health(Triticum Aestivum) Ingredients are Organic Wheat, 22% USP Grain Alcohol. It is a spray. You just mist it onto your skin, and within a few minutes the pain just disappears. I have been using it on my lower back, an on my neck after the chiro treatment, and I have not even had a headache. Usually, when someone fools around with my neck it causes me to have a headache, but this treatment, because there is not twisting, leaves my neck tender but not uncomfortable. I spray this on, and it actually works. Both my husband and I have had great results with this. You can go read about it at www.sproutinghealth.com Maybe you can get it in the US - It is certainly worth a try. I used it on my arms before I started going to the chiro and it takes away the pain. I guess since the skin is the biggest organ we have, it absorbs the nutrients and feeds the area and that is why it helps. Makes sense if you think about it.

Mima and Meme and Candice - sorry you gals are hurting so bad. Meme, it is wonderful what a baby can say to help with some of the pain, even for a few minutes. They are so very special.

Have a good weekend ladies.

Hi Joanne and Phyllis.

I got my massage...was wonderful!!! Came home and layed down and went to sleep and slept three whole hours...now I can't sleep tonight!!! It is 2:30 and I haven't even been to bed. Tomorrow will be a loooooong day!

I'm going to have my Rheumatolotist refer me to a Physical Therapist here that is a provider for my Insurance...that way they will pay all but $20 for me to go once a week and have some of the kinks worked out of my neck and shoulders. I used to go to this same Therapist years ago...3 times a week...and it helped. I finally stopped going because it only felt good as long as I was going...if I missed even one time I started back hurting again and I said then I couldn't continue going 3 times a week for the rest of my life. I think if I could just go once a week now that it would help a lot! I'm also going to try to get back in and get a massage at the place I went to today at least once or twice a month. She said my muscles were so tight and hard they were "breakable"!

Well...I'm going to at least lay down and see if I can doze a little before time to get up and start again! Hope everyone has a good Sunday!

I MISS PHYLLIS!!!

Default Good morning!!!

Hi everyone!Happy-I'm so glad that treatment is working. If I don't get relief soon,I'm going to explore finding a chiro near herethat does that.I think swimming helps me and I get a chance to do that for the next 2 weeks at the hotel where I work . What a job!!!I have the pain back in my ribs that goes from the front to the back on the left side. It doesn' feel like muscle. I'm going to ask about acupuncture tomorrow. I started that pain last year when I was moving and doing way too much physical work.
Gotta get ready for church. Have a great day everyone. Mima

Happy....That spray sounds interesting. Does it work on muscles, or just arthritic kinds of joint pain?
One more day of sugar....this is the last.
I went to the Freihoffer bread outlet and they had these brownies with big chunks of chocolate on them. I have eaten 2. Only six in a box.
I think I will end the whole sugar binge with a pint of Ben and Jerry's Phish Food.......(anybody know what that is???)
and I am so sorry for talking sugar.
'It really does get right down into your soul.
ANd I have to take some aspirin.
