1. Set realistic goals: Setting realistic and achievable goals is important for staying motivated. Start small and focus on making gradual, sustainable changes to your diet and exercise habits.
2. Find a supportive community: Having support from others can help keep you motivated. Join a weight loss support group or find a workout buddy to keep you accountable.
3. Celebrate small successes: Celebrate your progress along the way, no matter how small. Recognizing and celebrating your achievements can help boost your motivation to continue.
Staying motivated to lose weight involves setting realistic goals, celebrating small victories, finding enjoyable ways to exercise, eating balanced meals and seeking support from friends or a coach for accountability and encouragement.
When I was a college student in Boston I went from 240lbs to 170lbs in about a year in a half. I moved into my dorm by myself mother cheered me off to college but I had to go on my own after my family had just moved from Texas by way of California some years before. I stayed in a local hotel near the school before move in day and I went to the gym for the first time in a long time and didn't stop. College gym, Boston Sports club, jogging on the esplanade, I kept it moving. I took the stairs in the city instead of the elevator, and walked instead of taking car or public transportation if it was under two miles away. I ate healthier by replacing heavy greasy carbs with greens, like I would have a protein of choice with greens and a favorite simple dressing of oil, lemon, and herbs/spices. I stayed hydrated with water and I would juice my own fruits and veggies. 12 years later I've been able to keep the wight down. I've been vegan for 7 ot 8 years now, and I highly suggest participating in 21 day raw vegan cleanse. Right after graduating high school I remember having chest pains sitting on my grandparents couch, and I said to my self "that's not you with heart problems", I got up and ran around the hot Texas neighborhood, my aunt and her then boyfriend cheered me on saying "you go Christopher!!!", I'll never forget that moment when life cheers you on in a better direction. There's always hope in health!
