I tried WW once many many years ago, through a WW At Work program. I lost about 40 pounds. Then I thought I could do it on my own and save the fees. But for me, it was the group support that was the key at that time in my life. The diet itself is ordinary, but like any other diet, it only works if you stick to it. As the weeks went on, I was less motivated to stick to the plan, and regained the weight.
These days, however, we have online support groups, whether through this site or official sites, so that helps people stay motivated

You may try without the meetings and do just fine, though. Just remember that you can always change course if you need to
