Default I need coffee help!

I've only ever had one cup each morning, so quantity is not my problem-it's quality! I like my coffee in the "light and sweet" category whether that's iced or hot coffee. I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners but can handle Splenda in small and infrequent amounts. I'm in Week 2 of Phase 1 and every morning I've had a cappucino drink pack mixed into 10 ounces of black iced coffee, with 1oz of milk and one Splenda. It's really good and I feel like it's my morning iced coffee, but I've recently had a few schedule changes where I'd like to "eat" a packet to be more full for longer, but that means no caffeine in the morning.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to doctor up coffee so that it tastes yummy but still Phase 1 friendly? My husband suggested hot coffee with a vanilla shake added to it for the creaminess and sweetness but I don't want to waste a whole shake on a cup of coffee (I guess I could do a pre-made for this?). The other reason is that the one shake in the morning really does not hold me very long...I am pretty hungry shortly after and on the days I'm working, it's a long time until lunch.

All suggestions welcome!

I adore my coffee breakfasts with the IP cappuccino too When I got on the program I had to let my tastes change - I was a "light and sweet" person too, but that contributed to getting me where I was! I actually went totally black coffee for the first couple of weeks to "break" that taste in my mouth. Now I'm good with just a little flavoring in my coffee and the cappuccinos feel like decadence.

Some have used the Vanilla Ready to Drink in their coffee, or made up one vanilla drink and used it over a few days in their coffee. When I need something other than black coffee I've been using a Tbsp of the Walden Farm caramel syrup. Sweetleaf also makes some really fun flavored Stevia drops that you may want to try.

Would I have to "count" the vanilla drink mixed in? I think I may try that and the caramel or marshmallow sauce. Mmmm.

I love iced coffee in the mornings too, so I just add my allotted 1oz. of skim milk and some sugar free Torani or Davinci syrup. Hazelnut and caramel are my favorites, and I plan on buying some other flavors soon to try. It tastes really good. When I first started doing IP, it wasn't quite as good as the sugar free Coffeemate creamer that I used to use, but now I'm so used to it that I look forward to it every morning.

I did try some of the RTD vanilla shake but didn't like it very much. My coach said don't worry about counting what you use in your coffee.

I bought the DaVinci Chai Tea syrup and put that with coffee and some of the vanilla RTD and it was pretty good. I have 2/3 of the vanilla left so plan to use that to make a smoothie for breakfast, or another coffee. I add ice to my smoothies, so if you wanted one shake to last for coffee creamer and a shake, it probably would when you add your ice, etc. Haven't tried vanilla shake and spinach yet though so maybe that would thicken it up, in a very green sort of way. I love my coffee too, but don't like sugar, just milk, so even adding the shake/milk is a bit too rich for me. I've also tried just adding the extra milk from my rice crisp cereal as I just drink it down anyway...may as well use it in the coffee! It's not too rich, but FREE

I was told by my coach that adding a bit of vtd to coffee did not need to be counted... This is a tasty addition and was heaven after the black coffee I'd been making myself drink... Since entering maintenance I primarily use Almond milk as it is low cal and low carb and gives coffee a 'nutty' taste that I quite like...

Spinach Smoothie! I had that every morning in Phase 1 with 1c spinach + 1c lettuce + 2c chilled coffee + WF Caramel Sauce + IP packet. it is VERY filling, I couldn't have my coffee black/without creaminess.

Preblend your greens for 2 minutes with chilled coffee & sweetener, then add your IP and blend ~15 seconds to mix through. cappuccino and vanilla work too, but I am a chocoholic, you cant taste the lettuce or spinach and it will definitely get you through the morning. You can also do all lettuce (since its free). I actually have the 'lettuce smoothie' in Phase 3 now for snack because I can't have it at breakfast Anymore!

Not that I am complaining about my P3 breakfasts! I am using almond milk & sweet leaf stevia now in the morning - but I do love that ugly looking chocolate carame coffee lettuce milkshake!

Torani and davinci have a lot of sugar free flavors to choose from.
The have a plain sweetener, if you are looking to copy a normal ice coffee, vanilla, English toffee, White chcolate, gingerbread....lots of possabilties.

Dulce de Leche Sugar free With decaf earl grey tea and your milk allocation or vanilla rtd creamer is an awesome treat.

You count 1/3 of a vanilla RTD as a Splenda. It tastes delicious! Also, consider sugar free syrups like vanilla, caramel and hazelnut.

Great suggestions! I have a lot of experimenting to do as I try to replace my morning shake with an actual coffee. Then I can have the shake midmorning and not be starving by lunch...it's too long of a stretch.

Thanks!

I blend a vanilla pudding with lots of ice, wf chocolate syrup, and instant coffee. Then I take it with me in one of those big reusable straw cups. It tastes like a mocha frappe, very delicious and filling.

I use a vanilla RTD...a fourth to a third of it. The rest I pour into a small bottle to save for other mornings. I also do the spinach smoothie (I don't use lettuce in mine...chanes the flavor)

I worked really hard over the last few years to reduce my cravings for sweet by gradually reducing the amt. of art. sweetener in my coffee/etc so I don't buy all the Toriani syrups anymore. I used to have a whole bunch! Right before starting IP, I started reducing the cream as well. Because of that, the RTD tastes like a treat.

As scorbett mentioned, this really is about changing our tastes if we want to keep it off!

I have been trying to find the thread that was out there about 3 weeks ago, there had to have been 15-20 ideas of what people are doing with their coffee.
I am a huge coffee drinker, I am going it black, but I used to only use skim milk as my creamer, so I am likely not missing things like you are. I know I could still use the skim milk, but i drink so much coffee it would not be worth it to only put it on the first cup.
getting flavored coffees could be good, my friend brewed me some delicious hazlenut coffee, it was really good! you could add some stevia.
i put coffee in my morning shake too....you can give that a whirl!
Anyway....hope you find a way to enjoy your java!

Definitely the RTD Vanilla drink. Sometimes I use the WF Maple/Pancake syrup or a few drops of the liquid stevia, vanilla creme flavor.
