  • Quote: I've only ever had one cup each morning, so quantity is not my problem-it's quality! I like my coffee in the "light and sweet" category whether that's iced or hot coffee. I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners but can handle Splenda in small and infrequent amounts. I'm in Week 2 of Phase 1 and every morning I've had a cappucino drink pack mixed into 10 ounces of black iced coffee, with 1oz of milk and one Splenda. It's really good and I feel like it's my morning iced coffee, but I've recently had a few schedule changes where I'd like to "eat" a packet to be more full for longer, but that means no caffeine in the morning.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to doctor up coffee so that it tastes yummy but still Phase 1 friendly? My husband suggested hot coffee with a vanilla shake added to it for the creaminess and sweetness but I don't want to waste a whole shake on a cup of coffee (I guess I could do a pre-made for this?). The other reason is that the one shake in the morning really does not hold me very long...I am pretty hungry shortly after and on the days I'm working, it's a long time until lunch.

    All suggestions welcome!
I take my RTD and put it in the blender with ice and a starbucks VIA instant coffee, that way the coffee does not "water down" my shake. I found a vanilla instant coffee mixed with a choc RTD is very yummy!! I also buy the Healthsmart (buy them through Nashua) "hot drinks" and add a via to them, they sell some wonderful hot drinks for the cold days!
