Default How many carbs?

Hi everyone! Just a quick question regarding the BFL plan. I have the book but I lent it to my cousin so I can't look this up. I am seriously thinking about doing the meal plan but am just curious how many grams of carbs are you allowed in a day? I know you are allowed 6 meals a day with a fist sized portion but what is that in grams of carbs? I am sort of following The Schwarzbein Principle which is all about balanced eating and not a high protein low carb diet but allows carbs at every meal so between the two programs I will like to incorporate them both. Any clue??

BFL does not count carb grams or calories.

But.... many people who have done BFL use an approximation for both carbs and protein .

Total bodyweight in pounds = grams of protein per day required (this is a fairly standard minimum ofr bodybuilding).

Carbs= same number. Add some healthy fat like olive oil, flax oil, etc.

If you are severely overweight this formula may not work well, in which case it should be adjusted down somewhat.

And it also didn't work for me; I'm small but maintain at about 20 calories per pound so that wasn't *enough* food for me. But for most people, it works great.

Schwartzie: I have read that book so I understand what you are getting at. If you are going to eat 6 meals a day then shoot for about 15-25 gms a meal, if you are eating 5 meals then go for about 20-30 gms a day.

Use the lower figures if you are carb sensitive (like me) and the higher figures if you are not (like Laura). I hope that that helps!

Thanks!!! I was thinking I would shoot for 100 - 120 grams of carbs per day thought that sounded realistic and do-able!!
