Today is my Mom's birthday and we had her a little party. She was sure surprised when all of us {around 20} piled in on her. She is such a sweetheart and still so young at heart to be 70th.
But the really, really good news is....No cake for Debbie!!!
I haven't been home very long and there still is tons of stuff to do to get ready for tomorrow. I'll post to everyone tomorrow.
Debbie: Big congrats to you! No cake at your mom's birthday party and you had a great time. That's all about changing the focus of social events from food to fun. It can be challenging but feels great when it happens.
Titan Card Fan Dee and Gayle: I haven't watched the Bachelorette. For some reason, Joe Millionaire caught my attention and with all the hoopla, I just wanted to find out who he picked. The morning dj's on my local radio station were so mad about Monday's episode that they are going to dedicate tomorrow's show to divulging the secrets of this Monday's show. They figure that there have to be a few listeners that have the inside scoop who will call in. I'll post what they say tomorrow, unless you don't want me to. I've also heard that the butler is rich and that they give Joe/Evan $1 million at the end of the show (so he is a millionaire after all). I think Zora is the right choice because she is more down to earth like Evan although Sarah definitely puts out...We'll see what matters most to Evan!
Donna: I'm sorry to hear all that you are going through with fertility issues. I think that whatever choice you make will be the right one. It is such a personal decision. It sounds like you and your husband are really on the same wavelength which makes all the difference. I also wanted to tell you that a child with a disability can be a blessing. My son was diagnosed with autism when he was 3-1/2 (he is now almost 10). I couldn't imagine life without him. He is a very sweet loving and happy boy. Good luck to you on this difficult period.
I only had time last night to start a new thread. I didn't have time to post because I was working on the kids at School "Val-A-Grams." I always help the PTO get them ready. It takes forever!! (but fun!)
Tonight is our chili dinner at School. After School today, I have to get in the kitchen and start making it. Last year we ran out of chili so this year I'm making lots more.I have another lady helping me make it. If it's not too late when I get home, I'll post again to each of you.
Donna,
If you are meant to have a baby, I believe it will happen! Most of the girls here probably remember about our PRINCIPAL at School.Ready for a shocker?! She met her hubby in a chat room on the internet, married him 6 months later and had her FIRST child 3 days BEFORE her 44th birthday!!!! They are all well and so happy!! Never give up hope! She never thought her life would turn out so wonderful. Good luck to you and your hubby. Also, if you never have children, please be happy and content with one another. But MIRACLES do happen!!
Gotta leave for work......have a great OP day!!
Love & Hugs,
Sherry (Sher-Bear)
Donna: I agree with Sher. I never wanted kids when I was younger, the good lord blessed me with two. I can't imagine life without them now, but I also know if I never had them, life would of still been great.
Jeanne, I'd love to hear what the gossip is about Joe Millionaire. Who knows at this point if they are right or not? Last night's Bachelorette was as boring as Millionaire was Monday, except you knew from the beginning they weren't going to tell you anything until next week.
Well, gals, I am off and running this morning. I need to run a couple of errands and think I'm going to pick up myself one of those little park benches that I saw yesterday at Big Lots. Somehow I think it's going to take me the rest of the day you get it put together, but it is so cute. I'm going to use it down in my family room at least temporarily.
Oh, if you think kids are great, wait until you have grandchildren.
Hi all, just checking in. Thank you for asking about the boys. So far, so good....no word yet about deployment. I talked to Ben last night. They are getting ready to go to Delta alert at his base. That is the highest there is. He is on a SAC(strategic air command) base where the nuclear warheads are stored underground. When they go to Delta, he will have to sleep at the Kennels with the K-9's. They work 24/7......on call at all times.
Dan's unit is still on standby for Korea....still just taking it one day at a time.
I'll try to post to everyone individually this afternoon. To put it bluntly, I have been a real b***h this week. I'm trying to work on my attitude, but I'm not doing a very good job! LOL
Ohhhhhhhhhhh Ramona I had to laugh at your statement about being a B**** and having to work on your atitude! I have a little saying that goes, "You call me a B**** like it's a BAD thing!" Trust me, there's no one in this world that's all sunshine and light. If you're having a rough go of it then so be it. Things will get better.
Speaking of attitude, I was informed by the city's prosecuting attorney that I HAVE to be to court tonight at 5:00 tonight. 'Course I have to be at class at 6:00 for a test and in this class you don't dare be late! So I told him, "OK I'll be there but if you want to make your case this bad, then you best have me on the stand first thing at 5:00 and work your other cases around me. Otherwise you're up the proverbial creek without the proverbial paddle." He told he would do just that. So, see sometimes attitude works. I once got our hotel room refunded because I had complaints and took them to manager. My husband calls me the Queen of you know what's LOL!
Well I will be back in to post tomorrow. Happy V-Day to all!!!! Yay, Survivor starts tonight! I'll be taping it so I can watch it after I get home and watch ER.
I'm back. What started out to just go down to Big Lots and get the park bench really ended up as an all day project. First, we stopped at Wal-mart (my bank is there) and then decided to see if they had something I might like better... bad bad move. First of all they had this super cute patio swing but that wouldn't work where I wanted it -- too tall. Remember this is for the family room. But then I found this 2 person glider. Now we're getting somewhere. However, the glider didn't have the table in the middle like the swing did. So we went to every store we could think of that might have patio furniture. I finally found one that I really liked at K's Merchandise. It didn't have the table in the middle, but they did have matching end tables. They also didn't have the cushions yet, but have promised they will be coming in soon. I'm also going to try to get glass tops for the end tables and use them as a 2-piece coffee table.
We're suppose to get freezing rain tonight. If so, you'll find me on my glider with a tall glass of, probably flavored water, or a cup of flavored coffee in front of my fireplace. Isn't retirement great?
