Smile New here :)

I'm Kristy. I'm new to this site, and I'm pretty excited about finding it.
I've always been heavy, since I was maybe 4 or 5 years old. By the time I hit middle school (age 11) I was wearing a womans size 22 in clothes. Sadly, because of that I've never thought much of my weight. However, recently I realized that something needed to change. So 3 weeks ago today I decided to start a jouney towards a healthier me.

When I began, I weighed 365lbs. I didn't exercise (although, I'm a semi-active person - a class of four year olds will do that for you!). I was a soda-addict & I never paid attention to what I was eating. I'm happy to say I have not had a single sip of soda in 3 weeks, I keep my calorie intake about 1700 calroies per day, and I'm eating healthier foods in general. Because of this I've lost 12 pounds (without exercising). Yay

The thing I seemed to be having the hardest time with was actual exercising, but last week I fixed that problem. I never knew a video game system could actually be good for you, but I love my Wii & the game "Walk It Out." It's made exercise a breeze for me!

I came to this site to find support & accountability. I figured if I met some people in the same boat as me then maybe it would be a little easier

Welcome and congrats on the not drinking soda anymore. I was a pepsi fanatic and about 1 year ago I stopped drinking pepsi as a need. So once in awhile I treat myself to a pepsi and it tastes so much better as a treat and not an every day thing. Keep up the good work with the exercising and being positive.

Thanks everyone!! The soda thing was a HUGE step for me & I'm really glad it wasn't nearly as difficult as I had anticipated. I think that was in part because I was finally ready, and determined, to start losing weight.

Thanks! I was honestly surprised at how easy it was to actually give up the soda. I've tried so many times before, and always failed, so it was really great that I was able to give it up this time around! Good luck to you!!!!

I know it's been a while (I completely forgot about my own post, ), but I recently had the first drink of soda in the past 8 weeks, and it was disgusting! Lol.

YAYYY!!!! Great job staying away from the soda pop! I only drink diet when I do drink it but am trying to stick to water and crystal light only.

Thanks!!

I traded unsweet iced tea for soda. I tried diet soda and crystal light, but didn't care for either. They're both better (calorie/sugar-wise) than soda, so yay!
