Post Tuesday Thread

Good morning everyone....

First - welcome Jessy

Well I sure blew it last night....4 slices of Pizza Hut...and we got "The Big New Yorker" which is an extra-large pizza, so the slices were probably 10-11 points EACH. But I felt a lot better after I ate it hahahha

Hope everyone did better than me. I'll be back to post again later.

Wink Morning!

Good morning, Lori (look at that, I remembered your name!)...

Don't feel bad about blowing it last night, I did too. I was hungry when I got home from work so I had a bowl of chili, which wasn't too bad. Then, I met friends for dinner at 8, and had a salad with regular dressing, a gyro and Greek potatoes. Plus, I bought a box of Andes mints and ate half of that on the way home...

It's been like that a lot lately. I just need to get my a** back on track, but I keep using every excuse in the book--the Holidays, boy stress, being newly single, etc... It'll get easier after New Year's, but I had a couple of goals that I wanted to reach before the end of the year that I don't think I'm going to reach. But what can ya do?

I met a guy on saturday, which helps me not feel so rejected by Workboy. His name is Josh and he's hot. He called me last night, but I was out, so I'll be calling him tonight. I really didn't expect him to call, because I felt like he was way out of my league, so I was happy when he did. I have to admit, though, that I was a little disappointed that it wasn't WorkBoy calling to apologize, because I actually liked him.

Well, ladies, that's all I know right now. I'll stop back in later, I'm sure!

Hey all... Same old with me. My meeting was cancelled tonight, so I get to stay home with Emma while Hubby goes to his. Normally we have to either find a babysitter, or one of us takes her, so this is good. Next year we won't have the 2nd Tuesday of the month problem because I am dropping my organization.

Jess... yah on the hot man! Your options are wide open, so take advantage!!! And yes you blew it, but today is a new day. Start with mini-steps, one thing at a time to get back on track.

Lori... same goes for you!

I bought a box of oranges and they taste wonderful. Emma even ate one. She likes her fruits and veggies. If you are going to binge, might as well be on good for you food!!!

Hey girls,

Sorry I haven't been around. Life has been extremely busy. We've had two sets of company in the past week & a half. DH is in the middle of finals so I've been entertaining. Plus a million other things that have kept me from popping in here. Last week was crap eating wise. I never counted points at all. We were really u8norganized in the food department & ended eating out a bunch. We ended up hosting a Christmas party Saturday night & so we have all kinds of leftover goodies hanging around. I sent a whole bunch home with people but not enough. Anyway this week I am back on track & am going to make it work. I spent a ton on groceries on Friday so there's no excuse. I am in a soup mood of late. I made this really tasty corn chowder on Saturday. Tomorrow I am going to make something else. Yum! Its unseasonably warm here this week but I still want soup. I hope it will help me lose more than the 11 lbs I've lost.

I read all of the posts I missed while I've been busy. I have to say I was really really cringing when you girls were talking about sleeping on your stomachs! As a massage therapist I see so many people with problems all due to sleeping on thier stomachs. It is so hard on your neck. Also Belle with your back prob have your gotten any treatments? The longer you leave something to get better & it doesn't, the longer it will take to get it back to normal again.

Christmas is always a hectic time for us. Before DH came along it was busy enough b/c my parents have been divorced a long log time & both sets of grandparents live only 45 minutes apart. Before my Dad's wife was in the picture our parents would do Christmas Eve together with us then Christmas Day we would either go with one parent or the other to our grandparents. Then Boxing Day we'd switch. As we got older though our families stopped doing anything on boxing day b/c everyone had long drives home (besides us) so they start their journey that day. By then my brother & I could drive so we would hit both grandparents inone day. Very hectic & there were years when we misssed the main meal at both places & got onl;y leftovers. When Dh came in the picture it just made things way more complicated. His one set of grandparents live within driving distance from our childhood homes too so we always have to go there too plus his parents place. I feel like we miss out a lot trying to see everyone a little bit. One day when we own our own house I want to have Christmas at home & whomever wants to come can come. THis year we decided that the first night we are back home we're going to go glow bowling & both of our families can come. That way we can see everyone all at once. Even so Christmas is going to be incredibly hectic. Oh well....

Anyway enough babbling on.

Jess sorry to hear things aren't the best right now. Let us know if anything happens with Josh.

Lori, don't beat yourself up too much about the pizza. Today is a new day & a new start.

Hi to everyone else!

Morning everyone.

Jessy - join us on the daily thread - we'll all be your buddies.
Lori - again, another day starts, don't worry about the pizza, we all have off nights.
Jess - See how much better you can do than WB? - even if nothing happens with Josh, there's a lot more out there - enjoy the hunt!
Jen - I eat about 3 oranges a day at this time of year - I love them!
Rina - nice to have you back. I'll take your advice about sleeping on my tummy. I actually sleep 3/4 and usually use a body pillow for one leg but I find myself waking up flat on my back - is that a better position? Maybe my body just knows.

I went to a potluck with my SIL and Niece last night. It was the 1 year anniversary of my niece's Kidney transplant (no sign of rejection - YAY) of course, that neice was sick and stayed at home. There wasn't any really good food there so I kept my intake down. Of course, all of the veggies were smothered in something and the potatoes were those instant herbed ones with lots of sodium. But I had fun playing with the little one.
Well, time to do some work. I'll check back in later.

KT

Default Good news!

Hello everyone-I have been lurking but haven't posted. I just found out that I have the best reason in the world to go off of WW-I am PG!!! It is our first and we are excited. It was sort of planned-we didn't think it would happen this quickly or easily.

Needless to say, jenL and I are turning this site into the WW/PG group! Ha ha! I am really really early so we've only told close family and 1 or 2 friends.

Am starting to get 'morning sickness'-I put that in qotes b/c it is lasting all day long, off and on. Oh well-the bright side is i can't eat a lot. I started out way above where I wanted to be for pre preg weight, so i have to be really careful about what I gain. I have already been to the gym a few times since finding out, although I imagine this will get harder to do as I get further along.

Jess-workboy is a great big jerk!!!! Go out and find someone who deserves you.

Rina-I'm sure you will get back on track-this is such a hard time of year for dieting. What is Boxing Day?

Hi to everyone else!

Congrats Lori!!! You'll get to find out how it feels on the other side of the strecher. Boxing day (in canada) is a statutory holiday. I'm sure it has signifigance as some sort of day to give to charities. But we all use it to recover from Christmas day.

I was just quickly reading through and I wanted to say hello to everyone!

And CONGRATS Lori! Best wishes to you.

Things are going good. I'm actually happier than I've been in a while, and can't wait for finals and school to be over and done with! I SHOULD be working on a paper right now.

Hope everyone isn't overly consumed w/ the holidays! Try your best to stay OP!

Hi All,

I'm new here but congrats Lori, hopefully I'll get to know you all soon. I am pretty new to WW, 3rd week closes tommorow. I have been pretty good so far but as the holidays approach I am a bit worried. I am begenning to crave treats so I had better find a few alternates that will fill the gap when temptation strikes. I have lost 7lbs in the first two weigh-ins. I am hoping that I'll be 2 less tommorow and that I'll be at my 10% goal by the second week of Jan...we'll see.

Talk to you all soon
Smiles,
Sarah

Nice to meet you Sarah. Sounds like you're doing well. My early tip for you is to go to your meetings. Your leader and the other members will have some great beat the holiday cravings ideas. And the people on this board are great for that kind of stuff too. Good luck!

Lori, congrats on your pg!! That's so exciting! Do you know when you're due? BTw Boxing Day is the day after Christmas & yes in Canada it is a stat. It also is the best sales of the year. Kind of like yor day after thanksgiving.

KT on your back is a better position but its reccommended that you then put a pillow under your knees to ease pressure on your lumbar spine (low back). BTW did you watch the Flames beat your Canucks last night?? I thought the reffing was crap though. Thanks goodness we won!

Sarah, nice to meet you! This place is awesome-the people are so great & so supportive. Looking forward to getting to know you

Deb, good luck with your finals. DH is int he middle of his too. He has his last one tomorrow. YAY!

I don't enjoy this time of year at work b/c everyone is always bringing treat & our patients are the worst. THe thought is nice but I really don't like having those treats around! Today one of our patients brought us Pot Of Gold. I ate three of them through out the day Oh well I just have to adjust my eating elsewhere today. BTW what do you think three pot of gold chocolates is worth in pointsland? I'm going to see if Dottie has it. Hopefully...

Anyway I'm going to go make some supper. Talk to you gals later

Rina - I thought of you last night when I was listening to the game. I didn't watch it so I only heard the commentators talk about the officials. Our poor boys need a day or two off.
