Default Tuesday Thread

Sorry I did not get a chance to write yesterday...everything is crazy!

Yesterday I was soooooo stressed out. I think it was because I felt like I only had one day off this weekend with babysitting on Saturday. *sigh* oh well, you do what you must!

Jess - You must have done something at that workshop to help you lose 3 lbs...congrats

Laura - I am sure you will lose that gain from last week! Those Firm videos should definitely help

Kier - I will support you in any decision you make...it is your body and you know it best. Good luck!

Belle - Congrats on the condo! And the chicken burger hahahha

KT - Good luck with nursing school. I haven't taken my GRE exams yet becuase it costs about $100 and I don't have the money. And I really want to start working on my Masters soon....

Angie - did you post the pizza recipe? If not, please please please do! It sounds fab

Kim - You have to do what is right for you in your heart. I truly believe that. I say, get the job, have the kid, who cares what they think? If they fire you because you got pregnant then sue then and collect sexual harrassment money or something.

Rina - Happy Early Birthday (in case I forget!)

And hi to anyone else I missed. Off to work now, I must have spent about 15 minutes reading yesterdays posts and then trying to write this novel

I am dog tired this morning! My 2 year old was up ALL night vomitting. She also has 2 ear infections (as does my dh) so I have a house full of sickies.

I WILL post that recipe in a few minutes. I am just going to be copy and pasteing from another weight loss board...can't take credit for it. But it is awesome, and you don't need a bread maker to make it (I think someone asked this yesterday)

Belle...Congrats on your condo!!! Who HOOOO!!

I don't have a lot of time this morning....everyone is sleeping right now...but that won't last. I probably won't be on much today...but have a great OP day!

Angie

Talking Haaaalllooo!

Hi everyone!

I've been so busy at work because we are downsizing and that means I'm picking up the load. Hopefully, that will mean a RAISE in my future ... performance improvement.

I read through yesterday's thread VERY quickly last night. You all were CHATTY!

Kier - You need to make the best decision that is right for YOU. Do your homework, and of course find a reputable doctor - I'm sure it will be a success! We're here to support you!

Belle - Oh you lucky duck! Congratulations!! As I've said MANY times - real estate here on LI is tough! I'm glad you found the condo of your dreams!

Jess - You'll get those pounds down. It's not easy. Amazing how easy it is to put them on, but take FOREVER to get off!

Rhina - Happy upcoming Birthday!

Angie - I don't remember if we've met or not - but, hello!
I have a sick household too. My son woke up with the croup last night, and his father has pink eye. I'm avoiding them both like the plague. Hope everyone is better SOON!

Hi Kim - I know what you mean about not having a weekend. I worked all week, worked Saturday, and then had to take my Mom to a wedding on Sunday. Not a day to enjoy for myself ... ho-hum. I'm looking forward to next Monday - MLK Day - as we get the day off!

SOOOO ... did I tell everyone I found a COTTAGE to rent!! I'm so excited! I get to move in 3/1 ... and it's HUGE, OLD and JUST WHAT I LIKE! Woo-hoo! Making the rent will be tough w/ out a tenant (it's 3 bedrooms), but I'm going to try to do that before I start looking for a roomie. My job (NYIT - a college) was built on old hospital grounds so they have houses & cottages there that were used for the doctors & interns, etc. They rent these out to staff & faculty at SUBSIDIZED rent rates! And it includes utilities but a phone. I'm soo happy. But I've still got to tell Jeffrey that I found a place. I think he doesn't think I'm really moving out ... last night we had a spat, but other than that things have been OK.
So for the month of Feb I'll stay w/ my parents (I've got to get out of here soon - it's just not good to stay here for either of us) and then move in on 3/1. This is going to be so good for me & Jeremy.

Well, this has turned into a novel!
Sorry if I've missed anyone ... I'll try to read & post throughout the day.

I decided last night that despite work, I need to try and pop in here more frequently. I've had a lot more trouble with eating within points since I quit hanging around this board. So I'm going to try to stop in once or twice a week.

KT - I LOVE "The Firm". Jayne is right - those tapes kick your butt. I've been doing them for a year now (renting from the library) and yesterday's tape still left me a little sore today. Good luck getting into nursing school.

Kier - we just want you to be happy and healthy. Do what is necessary to accomplish that.

Jayne - does Aaron get cranky when he's cutting teeth? One of my nieces did but the other is so placid about it.

Belle - congrats on the condo!

Kim - tough decisions re: job and baby. Think of it this way - it may seem unfair to take a job and get pregnant within a year but no company would think twice about hiring you and then firing you within that year if it made financial sense.

Rina - buy a new scale!! It's not worth the agony of stepping on such an inaccurate one.

Tonya - glad you are enjoying the house and settling in.

Lori - I know what you mean about 1 day off on the weekends making it seem as though you hardly got a break. I've got a FT job and a PT and only get Sunday's off. Some weeks it's hard but I just keep thinking about the patio I want to build with the extra $$$.

Angie - hope your 2 yr old and DH are feeling better.

Deb - the cottage sounds great - a new start for you and Jeremy.

My company is providing a free personal pan pizza for lunch today. My first instinct was to not have any but the truth is that I LOVE pizza and if I "just say no" I usually over-indulge because I hate to feel deprived. So I'm going to throw two pieces in the garbage as soon as I get it and then eat two with the salad I brought from home. I can work that into my points easy!

Must work.

Little D Hi! It is nice to meet you. I used to post here...and have sparatically for the past couple of years. I decided in Oct'02 that I was going to get serious about losing the weight and decided that I was going to get back onto this board, because it is totally supportive, and I really missed it when I wasn't posting. Your new cottage sounds like it rocks!!
Good luck with that raise! I hope you get it!!

WinterGirl I think you have a great plan! I would definatly eat the pizza, because like you said if you don't...you'll feel deprived...and then WW becomes the same as any other diet. Eat the pizza, count the points...and ENJOY IT!

Mod I posted the pizza recipe on the recipe thread. It is KILLER! You have to try it!

Dh and dd are actually feeling pretty good...and while I thought I was going to have to cater to them.....it is the opposite...they are hanging together...and I have ME time! Who Hoo!!!

Question for all......What is your goal size?

I think mine is 12....and yet if I EVER manage to fit into a 10 I will be SOOOOOO pschyed!! Right now I am in a tight 16 comfy 18...down from a tight 18 comfy 20. I hope that by summer I will be comfortably in a 14....and estatic if I am in a 12

Morning!

How are you all today? Well I took an average of all the weights I got fromt hat damn scale & it worked out to a 3lb loss. I hope that right! Yep definately getting a new scale even if I have to put it on my credit card!

Laura, great plan with the pizza! You've gotta hav real committment to toss half of it! Go for it!

Angie, hope your day isn't too crazy busy.

Deb, that's great that youfound a place! It sounds fab! Good luck telling Jeffery.

Lori, I like long posts! I worked the whole weekend so I know how you feel. I can't wait until Friday when I finally get a day off

Hi to everyone else. I'll probably be by later before I head off to work.

Rina Definatly go get a better scale!! I SO know the frustration of standing on it...getting off...then standing on it again only for it to tell me a gain (or lost) 2-3 pounds in 3 seconds! VERY frustrating! My suggestion is get a Tanita! They are awesome...pricey but acurate! A big Congratulations on your 3 pounds loss. WHO HOOOO!!!

Default Hello!

Hi everyone!! Wow, we really were a chatty bunch yesterday! I love when the threads are like that!

Not much to report here. I was OP yesterday and journaled and walked, so I'm feeling pretty good about myself. Today, I've already got my short walk in (it is SO cold out) and my plan for tonight is to stay home, which I'm already looking forward to. So, hopefully today should be easy to stay OP.

A guy from here at work asked me to go to dinner/lunch at Red Robin with him one day this week. We just got one in Omaha. I looked at Dottie's nutritional info and I'm thinking I better start banking points now. We're going on Saturday for lunch. I'm also going out with my sister on Friday night, which means there will probably be some drinking. Yep, definitely better start banking.

Rina--You asked yesterday about my lovelife. Sadly, there's really not much going on with it. Aaron and I still talk and see each other once in awhile, but I'm as single as they come, which is just fine with me.

Lori--Don't you just hate the weekends where you can't really enjoy yourself for both days? When I have weekends like that, I don't feel like doing a darn thing when I get back to work.

Angie--Yikes, your house doesn't sound like a fun place to be with two sick people in it. It's times like these that I'm glad I live alone. You asked about my goal size. Right now I'm in a 12 (that didn't used to be quite so snug) and I like where I am. I started as a snug 16 and never thought I'd reach a size 12. I thought 12 was my goal size, but I think that by the time I reach my goal weight, I'll be in a 10. I don't remember ever being anything smaller than a 14 in my whole life. I think I was born a size 14. My poor mom...

Deb--Hello! That's awesome that you found a cottage to rent! I'm glad that the situation will be better for both you and Jeremy, that's very important. I'm so happy for you!

Belle--YAY on the condo, too! Gosh, there's all this moving going on, I almost feel like I should start looking for a new place to live.

Laura--Hey you! It sounds like you have a good plan for the pizza. It's important that we treat ourselves sometimes, otherwise it does end up leading to overindulgence later on. And I have to say, I am most jealous of your personal pan pizza. I'm stuck with a lousy Healthy Choice meal and SmartPop.

Rina--Your scale fiasco sounds really frustrating! But, the 3 lb loss is WONDERFUL!!

OK, I haven't done any work since I got here 3 hours ago. I really better get something done. I'm sure I'll stop back in later!

Hey girls! I just went to a communications seminar thing and now I am all inspired. It wasn't any new info, but a refresher and it was nice to hear it all again and the speaker was very funny (he said the dumbest people he knows have PhD's) hee hee. lol

Anyway, I missed WI today b/c of htis course - I totally forgot it was today. So I'll have to go tomorrow!

I am going to do cardo interval today (step class interval) at 1pm - woo hoo , so inspired!

Lori - I know how you feel - I feel like my weekends are gone from cleaning mom's house, packing, househunting - literally b/f and I don't remember the last time we just relaxed! I think xmas holidays...but we are going to forget about condos this weekend and just go to a movie and hang out and maybe go skiing or something. You should do that too!!!

Angie - I hope its not contagious online!! Yikes - hope everyone gets better soon and you get some rest!

D- Yay on your cottage and on your possible raise!! things are going your way now!!

Laura - I am the opposite of you - if I say - I won't deprive, I'll just have a bit, I end up binging - its weird how different people are - good luck and enjoy your pizza!!

Kim - yeah, I know your pain about babies - b/f and I have been talking about it and we think around 30 but the truth is there is never really a "good time" there will always be something. Plus, there is no guarantee you'll get preggo right away. My sister has been trying for over a year.....let us know if you are moving!

Rina - I need a new scale too - mine is totally unreliable!! congrats on your 3# you rock!!

Jess - is it a date with the guy from work? Or just friend???

OK I should really go now - must get info to my lawyer this morning...

Have a good OP day girls! BBL!!

Hey... it's me the PG lady checking in. Actually that isn't totally true. I check in everyday and read, but haven't posted in weeks. I have been dealing with some bad work issues and it is quite stressful. I just keep saying, it has to get better!

As for the getting PG talk. Belle is right... you don't always get PG that first month you try. No matter how hard you try. With Emma it took me 3-4 months... this time it took 6-7 months. I am healthy and no medical problems that I know of, counted fertile days and everything. So don't expect that magic day to happen exactly when you want it to! Hope that doesn't bring anyone down, I just want to be truthful.

I feel guilty listening to you all talk about eating. I eat a LOT! But I am also like 6 months PG and know that it is normal. So far my weight is ok, the first couple of months I gained a LOT, but now it is tapering off. Went to the Doc last week and only gained 4 pounds. She was impressed since that was over the holidays.

That's it for me now...

Hi Jen!! Glad to see you post again!

On the size issue - I am in agreement - a size 12 would make me happy. 10 would be even better. But a 12 is still success to me. For my "first goal" I am aiming for a size 12/165 lbs-ish. Then if I am happy and maintain well I might go for less. But we'll see!!

Where is everyone lately??

BBL!

What a day so far!
I was in a training meeting for 2 hours. UGH!
And there's still so much to do ...

Anyhoo ...

The pizza sounds yummy! I love wheat crust pizza ... I've got to try it! Thanks Angie.

Jayne - Hope Aaron is feeling better. They say that cutting teeth for babies is so painful that we as adults couldn't stand it. I remember what getting my wisdom teeth felt like ... you've never seen someone so happy to opt for an extraction.

Jen - 6 months along! Wow ... time flies! Hope you are feeling good and having a healthy pregnancy.
My good friend is about the same in her pregnancy and they found out she's having a boy - first baby for them. She had a little fainting spell, but so far (knock on wood) a good pregnancy. And she's a tiny little thing so the pounds look good on her!

My ideal size you ask? Ideally an 8/10 ... right now I'd like to not be squeezin' my 12's ... so my short term goal is 12.

Rhina - I have a Tanita and it was WORTH the money! It's digital and does the body fat % (which I'm sure isn't THAT accurate) but the scale itself is not far off from my weigh-in scale @ WW. Way to go (no pun intended) on loosing the 3 #'s!

Belle - Packing 101 ... where to begin! I have to throw out so much CRAP! Which is a good thing. I'm a firm believer in less is more.

Thanks everyone for you good wishes for my upcoming move! I need all the help I can get! You guys are great! Things will fall into place ... I know it.

Hi everyone. Had a busy morning so I haven't been able to post huntil now.
Rina - I am an occupational First Aid attendant (level 3) - it's the highest level in BC without being in the Health care field or a paramedic. It's also the minimum training for BC paramedics. I can be camp first aid attendant for the lumber camps or in big office buildings or construction sites but I use it for concerts and the fair that I work at each summer. I also have my CPR C and will get difibrilator training in the summer.
My lunch relief just got here so I'll have to come back later to respond properly.
