Default Help!!!!

Oh my dear calorie counting friends, I am in need of major assistance. I do not know what has come over me. I did so good for the first 22 pounds, now it seems I can’t do anything right. When I started out, I was walking outside every morning and packing all my food for the day. My dear Hubby didn’t want me walking outside in the dark (after my girls started back to school, I didn’t have enough time to wait for daylight), so he bought me a treadmill...and I stopped walking..WTH??? It’s sitting right there in my room, and I’ve only been on it 4 times. I also don’t have enough time anymore (or should I say I don’t make enough time) to pack all my food, and I end up trying to find something good for me for lunch and snacks. I ate 2500 calories yesterday, and have already had 800 today I know what I have to do, I know what works, why can’t I make myself do it!! I could have lost 20 more pounds already if I had been diligent with this!! However, I got a great motivator in the mail this morning...the new Bama stuff catalog came, and has many delicious new Roll Tide shirts I would love to wear...alas, there are no “plus” sizes...so there’s my motivation..hope my willpower catches on soon!

I have been there. Sometimes it is not so easy to do what we know we should be doing. I have had to learn to put myself first, which isn't so easy to do sometimes. And, from the sounds of it, you know that is what you need to do, too. Cutting back on non-essentials is what helped me to "find" more time to take care of myself. I had to decide that getting my exercise in was more important than whatever t.v. show I used to "have" to watch. Sounds like you are on the right track, recognizing and using the motivation to get yourself re-focused. Continue to do that, and find even more motivations, and I'm sure you'll re-gain your focus. We all have to "re-motivate" sometimes. Just don't give up!

When you fall off the wagon you have to get back on. The longer you stay off the harder it is to get back on. You're on your weight loss journey for a reason. Try to keep that reason in focus. I know it's not easy but push through it. Why choose failure when success is an option? You can do it. We all know you can.

There is no such thing as willpower. There are choices. We choose to do the things necessary to lose weight or we don't. I have to plan my meals at least one day in advance or I don't have a successful day. I schedule my exercise on my calendar just like any other appointment and then I do it, whether I feel like it or not at the time. I joined the Y and work out 6 days a week for at least one hour. I find the exercise keeps my appetite at bay. I'm 69 and only work part time 2 days a week now, but those days I pack my lunch before bed. After awhile, it becomes easier.
