Hi, femgineer! I'm starting again too. 2010 is going to be our year!
I just had to reply to you because your story sounds so much like mine. I did WW faithfully and exercised every day. I dropped 15 lbs in the first 3 weeks and then held at that weight for 3 weeks. I was so discouraged. For me I think it might have been that although I stayed well within my points it wasn't all chicken and vegetables. I look back and see that there were a lot of hidden calories and empty calories. I also think that I was putting on muscle which add weight, even though I was losing fat. But most of all I think science is just clueless about weight and weight loss. Plateaus are a part of weight loss but different for everyone.
I journal ALL of my food at FitDay.com. I plan all my meals and do one really big shopping trip. I automate my breakfast and lunches (Dr Oz) and weigh everything.
I know that I will have a big drop in weight and then a long plateau. I am trying to prepare myself for it. The biggest thing I tell myself is that this is a lifestyle, no matter what the outcome. I need to live healthy because I deserve it.
I know it's frustrating. Hang in there. You deserve to live healthy, no matter what the outcome. We can do this if we all do it together!
