Default Hormone Balancing Cream

Has anyone tried this? My center has been really talking this up lately as a way to get rid of belly fat. I am really considering it, but wanted to see if anyone has any feedback on it. Thanks!

Melissa, I know the girls working at my center were trying it in the last few months, but I haven't really heard anything about it. I'd be interested to see what info people have been given.

I have the informational brochure and what they have been telling me is that as women age, we become estrogen-dominant and this decrease in pregesterone can cause us to hold onto belly fat. The product is bio-identical and natural (not like synthetic hormone replacement therapy) I can scan in the info I have and send it to anyone that would like to read more.

I am thinking about trying it - I have 20 pounds to go and I have been at a plateau for the last couple of weeks with staying the same or losing 1.5#. I do know that there are comparable products available at about half the cost of the MRC cream, so if I do I will probably go that route and save myself $20

I have taken the MRC cream and perhaps haven't been on long enough...not noticing a lot of belly fat change....but then again past month has been holidays, etc.....going on and off program.....

Am interested in knowing about the comparable products.

Thanks for the reply! I really appreciate hearing from others who have tried the products, not just taking the word of the counselors trying to sell me something else!

The cream I found is available online but I found it at Vitamins Plus inside Drug Emporium. The brand is LifeFlo and it is called Progesta-Care
Natural Progesterone. It is Bioidentical and made from Wild Yam extract just like the MRC cream. It was $24.95.

I read online that it may take up to 3 months to get results, although my center did not tell me that - they made it sound as if it would start working immediately. I also read that if you are not truly estrogen-dominant, it may make your symptoms worse.

I am going to start it this month, once I am on day 12 of my cycle. If it helps with my migraines, I will be happy - and if it helps with belly fat I will consider it a big plus. I would love to hear updates as you continue on the cream!

I have the cream and when I use it the right way there is a difference in my moodiness during the month. I don't notice it while I am on it but when I haven't used it I can see a difference. One woman at my center said she hasen't had migranes since starting it. Another said it stopped her hot flashes. I don't have those problems but it does help my pms. It is tricky to use depending on your age and other medical considerations. I am on birth control so I use one pump am and pm all the days I am not on my cycle. Hope this helps!

I've used a comparable cream that I bought at whole foods for $21.95 (on sale, it's usually 34.95), you use it once a day for 21 days, then off for 7, then back on. I'm post-menopausal and it truly did help with the numer of hot flashes I have. Haven't noticed a thing with belly fat (that's not where I carry my fat), but that's not why I was taking it. Now if only they made a cream for thighs and butt ...

Call me cynical, but I'm always interested in proof, i.e., data from studies showing that a treatment works - especially one that messes with my hormones.

I don't think that's cynical .... I think it's smart.

I use the cream because my doctor prescribed it (one the pharmacy compounded) for menopause issues. I told him I didn't want the prescription any more, just the OTC one, so the one I use, she recommended. I would not use anything the center people told me to in regards to my medical issues. (I don't go to the center anymore -- didn't want to pay the cost to renew, so I just do it on my own). I always found that the center people gave "questionable" advice.

For instance -- not putting lemon in your water -- now seriously, the second you drink that water it goes to your stomach and mixes with all of the acids in your own body -- so don't tell me all of the chemical nonsense they tell you about lemon changing the chemical compound of the water. The consultants are not scientists, they just tell you what they learn in training. So, I always felt you need to use your common sense -- if they tell you something that's suspect or too go to be true -- than it probably is. Now, I'm not bashing the center (but remember, they are in a business whose goal it is, is to make a profit) by any means, I got a lot of good support there -- just saying that people shouldn't doubt their own knowledge and common sense. If you question anything, ask your personal physician or a trusted source (the supplements would be a good example of something I would ask your doctor about -- I don't use any of them, and never will because really -- if there was a magic bullet for weight loss, everyone in the world who has a weight issue would use it).

So, I personally think an inquisitive mind is a really good thing when it comes to your own personal health. (and everything else for that matter)
