Sure needed that coffee this morning! Thanks, Sue, and I hope you have a wonderful first day on the job!

Worked more than just the morning yesterday but that was OK. The Office has AC and the AC here at home is no longer blowing cold air - just air! I rolled the last of the coins and made the final bank deposit. It was just amazing to see the Fairground completely empty after a week of midway! I will go in for a bit this morning to do attendance stats and that will be IT for a while. :

This afternoon I intend to start rehab on my poor neglected dogs! Hershey's fur looks OK until you realize it is matted close to her skin! Rubirose sent me the name of a de-tangler - The Stuff - but I have not bought it yet. In the meantime I just comb out one section at a time. Lucy thinks grooming is a game! She is still a nutcase and chomps at the comb when I'm using it. We'll just do it a bit at a time. The wading pool is a great idea for these sweltering days but it is hard on fur coats!

I hope everyone has a great summer day!

Morning everyone......

Sue..... good luck on your first day -- I know you'll be great - after all, they hired you on the spot, didn't they? Shows how smart they are!!!

Ruth, glad you're finally going to get some R&R, if one can call it that with your furry girls needing attention! I'm still looking, btw, haven't yet found a portie to call my own (or rather, to own me!! - which, as we all know, would probably be lots closer to the truth! ) I hope your weather is at least cooperating, since your A/C isn't working. I just read our newspaper, where it said that yesterday was a record-breaking day for heat on Long Island!! More of the same today........ shdh decided that we didn't need the a/c in EVERY room, so he shut the bedroom a/c AND shut the door! (of course, also left the windows shut!! duuuuh!) Well, about 1 hr later I had to go in there -- thought I would die! What did he care? He shut the a/c and went to work, leaving me here!! 'Sokay tho, I turned it right back on, and colder, too Sheesh.... men!!!

Well Sue, Ruth and all to come....... have a great day......I'm working at home today, so I'll be back!

I'm getting ready for my big audit...with thanks to Sam'sGrandma for a few comforting words! I do this all the time, and usually without notice, so I don't know why I am particularly worried about this gal...

I woke up and my headache is finally gone, at last! Weighed again and still no loss. I did lose what I managed to gain after that 6 pound loss, but I am back to the original 6 pounds. Did I confuse you yet?

Off to the showers, have a wonderful day everybody!

Morning Ladies!! Going to be another scorcher here today too. Wow this has certainly turned out to be a HOT summer! Hope it cools down before DS starts 2aDay practices for football AND before school starts. Nothing like sitting in a hot classroom with lots of hot, sweaty bodies to get kids in the mood to learn. Anyway, let's see, yesterday after doing the regular grunt work around here and getting in my exercise I cleaned out DS's closet. It is a yearly thing and I have been putting it off cuz it is a job! Bagged up stuff that doesn't fit anymore for the center and then tried to put the rest back in a somewhat orderly fashion. It won't last of course, but it looks good now. Now I just need to get up the ooomp to do MY walkin closet--it looks like a BOMB went off in it! Today's agenda includes taking DS out to the clinic for his sports physical. I of course slept through the $10.00 ones the school sponsored earlier this summer so that I could pay full price now for the same guy to do it. Duh! Eating was good yesterday and as I said I got in the workout--still not weighing--maybe Monday.

Sue, have an absolutely terrific day today!!

Jennifer, good luck with the audit. I am glad that your headache is gone!

Ruth, hope you get your AC fixed so that you and the girls can just sit around and enjoy each others company.

Samsgram, I ditto your "MEN" just on basic principal alone. My DH seems to qualify for that expression more and more lately.

L, enjoy your coffe with friends and have a great visit with your family this week.

Have a good day everyone!!

Jennifer, you and I must have the same headache, I've had a humdinger for the last couple of days.

Not much going on here, went to drop in this moring with the wee one and lo and behold my friend is also having marital troubles due to shdh. I swear it's the 5 year mark, gets you every time.
Other than that, holing up in the house. Been very tired recently so I think when dd wakes up we're off to the lake for a dip. maybe that will wake me up. We have no A/C here, just a cool basement for when it gets a little out of control.

Have a good one everyone!

Default Okay.I'm home... now what?

I awoke about 4:00 and tried to go back to sleep, but the pain was too great. So I hobbled to the kitchen and got a carton of yogurt and a glass of water, hobbled back to the bedroom, took a pain pill and woke about 9:00 Alvin left about 10:00 and my Mom got here about the time he was leaving and helped me get cleaned up and my "exercise" done. It's now about 1:30 and I'm waiting for Alvin & Mark (my son) to pick me up to sign the papers on our new building. We've borrowed a wheechair to get me to the room. Not being able to walk is the pitts. But once this month is over, I'll be a new woman!!! Mark say's I'm doing much better than I did the last time. I'm just glas I only have 2 knees!!!

Maybe tomorrow I won't be so grippey! (is thaat a real word?)

Oh yeah maybe the 8 pounds that showed on the scales this morning will have disappeared by then. That'll help my attitiude too!!!

Hello all you wonderful ladies! Propping myself up here to read about what's new and exciting! The gyno today acted like he had some sense, doesn't want to do any kind of surgery except as a last resort. Will go the pill route for now, with strict instructions to call him if it gets out of hand again. Oh, and by the way, he told me all about what's happening, and it's classic PCOS. So I asked him, have you ever heard of PCOS? No!!!!!!!! I promised to print him some info off and bring it back with me. What is with these doctors?????? Anyway, still feeling like crap, last night and this morning the hemo dropped to 5.7 but after the transfusion tomorrow I will be a new woman! So I will be able to tell you all the gory details then! Ya'll have a good day, I'm off for (yet another!) nap!

Hi everyone,

Barb, I can't believe you are out and about, even with a wheelchair. That's awesome. Hope all goes well.

It is definitely hot here, not that I have been outside, but the cooler can't keep up with the heat when it gets over 100, and it's at least 105 out there. Hot, hot,hot!

I'm getting to the cranky stage of recovery, but I won't bore you with the details. Suffice it to say that the big issues are waning, and the small ones are driving me insane, but this too shall pass.

My daughter is feeling better, thankfully.

I would love to live near a lake. Sounds lovely!

I'm off to walk the house again.

See y'all later!

Dawna

WOW, Sherrie~~5.7 is very low. Hurry up and get that blood. You will feel so much better by Friday.

Sue~~I hope your 1st day on your new job wasn't too hectic and crazy.

Barb~~~One of my mottos is "Better living through drugs", so take your pain pills and rest. You'll be up and about in no time

I've been reading about the Fat Flush Plan lately (there's a thread on it under "Diet Plans"). I've been wanting to cut out my caffeine and aspartamine along with increasing my fluid intake. This diet seems to have some very good aspects to it. So I would like to try it in conjunction with decreasing my carbs. This week I am eating and/or getting rid of the unacceptable foods (such as cottage cheese) from my kitchen. And I'm cutting back on my morning coffee and drinking the cranberry-water and hot water with lemon juice instead. If I can make some of the changes this week, then I can start next week and it shouldn't be too difficult to try it for 2 weeks. We'll see!!!!!!!

I got the book today and will have to do some reading to be ready for next week.
~~~Sil
sorry i didn't stop in for my morning coffee... had to go to the pulmonologist for a check up and my computer needed some scandisk stuff because it wouldn't boot. i have to start looking for a new one..
but, the doc visit: FABULOUS!!!!! my lung capacity has increased from 43 % last november to 73%. still not good enough, but what an improvement! and he's very impressed with my progress. in fact, he said that he wants me to come back in 3 months, not because i really need to but because he loves to see me.
and the best news: i've lost another 10 pounds since the visit with the surgeon on july 17.
new totals: 230 overall. 133 since the surgery on january 29. and finally LESS THAN 100 TO GO!!!!!!
now sherrie... is betty helping you? do you need anything??
and dawna.. so glad to see you again. and can't wait to see pics of the new you!!! maybe your wonderful daughter would enjoy a day of pampering? or a weekend somewhere fun? a bed and breakfast? camping? her choice...
and, along the same lines, adoannie.. nyc isn't so hard to navigate, once you figure out how it's organized. and there are several of us who would LOVE to play tour guide... right samnrosies grandma?????
[was that enough of a hint for you???]
and sue, did you REALLY mean to type that you were watching b videos at work????? made me smile... and you're getting PAID for this.. i'm so happy for you!!!! can't wait to read all the details.
[[[[[[barb]]]]]]] you're doing well. and you'll be fine and traveling soon. i promise...
mom and the relatives have headed to the joisy shore for a couple of days, so i have the dog and the two cats... we'll be fine. the dog is hanging out with me right now.
and not much else is happening.
Hey Jiff, those numbers are so great! That is a huge difference with your lung capacity, too. I bet it feels so much better! Congrats on having the house to yourself. Isn't solitude so great sometimes? I haven't had any myself in almost 2 years.
Sherrie, I can't believe your doc hasn't heard of PCOS. When you print out the info, be sure and print a bunch on how Glucophage helps! Maybe he will listen to you then.
To all of you that posted your menus, thanks!! It gives me ideas and helps to see if others are staying on track or swaying...I tell you, I am much more inclined to follow if I have to tell about it. I have to be honest because if I lied you all would find out when I didn't lose weight!
BTW, for all of you that have kids, Sunday is Kid's Day. It is a real day now like Fathers Day and Mothers Day. We have had one in my house since Cody was 4...he asked me when kid's day was after he had shopped for Mother and Father. I found out last year there was a real day. It is always the first Sunday in August. Cody is looking forward to breakfast in bed like he helps make for us. Gee, only nine and food is already the focal points of his holidays, just like his mom!
