Talking snacks

I have been doing low-carb(moderately,compared to some) and have done okay. Problem is I am really getting bored and frustrated trying to figure out tasty snacks-snacks i have done are usually an ounce of cheese or lean meat , fruit, nuts, veggies with dressing,... Anyone have some fantastic snack ideas out there? Nothing expensive-my husband is unemployed and so I'm not only on a food budget but on a money budget . T hanx for your input

I know the meaning of tight budget!! Like what Budget?? is more like it for me!! I have 4 kids and a starving DH that does not accept there is no food in the house and they do not eat low carb!!

For me what I do is generally vegies!! fresh and uncoked. lettuce, cabage Slice the head in slivers and peel of a few leaves to munch. this can be used with dip. any fresh vegie is great peppers, broccli cauliflour green beans. theses are coming in plentiful and great fresh!!

on craving sweet days check out the miscl section for several recipies. there should be some p-bar recipies that was posted if not let me know. I can dig them up. fresh shakes. there is some shake that if i can find the recipe i can send it off. but it goes like this somehow

1c frozen strawberries and bluberries and rasberries each scoop of van protein shake mix and water.

use the frozen for thickness or you can make with fresh i guess

the shake is called the paleo shake and is supposed to be delishious . I have not tried it but can imangine it is.

the great part of it is yes you do use crbs with this but not that much as these fruits are the higest in fiber so half the carbs are not counted, and it is super high in anti ooxidents which helps totally the enie body as well as being full of nutrients. ]

one thing is when i used to feel hunger i would have a shake (use powder as theya re cheeper) and wiat half hour if I was stillhungry after that the i would eat some thing (never happened)

how about a big cheff salad?/ use eggs and some ham with dressing MMM that always filled me up!!! with very litttle carbs.
