Kinda flying through these days! We've been very busy with planning the remodeling of the kitchen, yard work and today I am going to pick raspberries. Judging from the prices in th stores, the birds have eaten at least $25.00 worth.

Seeeee youuuu allll laterrrr!

Default Good morning Sue and Tippy and all to come.

Gonna be a hot one in the south today. We have had very cool weather for the most part this summer, but wouldn't you know when we plan to meet the humidity is back.

I need to really check my grazing, think I may be getting in too many carbs, which makes me all the more hungry. Water, water, water today.

An uneventful day planned, grocery store and library run today.

Have a wonderful day

Morning Everyone!! Wow, how did it get to be Monday already!!! Just got DS up for football practice. DH got the new washer and dryer up and running yesterday as I said before. Wow, I can't tell you great that is! So laundry is all caught up. Not much on the agenda here today. DS has football this a.m. and basketball this p.m. I am going to see how exercising goes with my knee today. It seems to feel better, but I still feel some twinges in it. Waiting to hear from my dad today-he has a Dr.'s appt. at 2:00. He has been having some health problems and was supposed to have an MRI last week, but is claustrophobic and couldn't go through with it. I don't know what they have planned now. I'm trying not to worry. Okay, that's it for me here.

Samsgrandma--here is that website address for the Atkins site. I posted it yesterday, but I'm not sure that you'll see it. They changed servers, so that might be why you had troubles getting to it.

Have a good day everyone!!

Morning everyone..... Sue, thanks so much for the coffee - I really needed it!!

Tip - we have a blackberry bush - and you're right! Those birds (AND the squirrels) have eaten most of the good berries!

Deb- it feels like the humidity is back with us here on LI this morning, too........ oh well, gonna be in (hopefully) a/c today - at 11 pm last night my phone range..... someone's kid is sick, so can I work today?!?!? Well, duuuuuh! Of CoURSE I can work!!! (after all, as a brand new grad, I simply cannot afford to ever turn down work - they might not call me again!)

Annie - thanks for the address..... I went over to the site... wow! it is really big..... lots of interesting-looking recipes, too! Hope you get good results from your dad.....

Have a good day everyone.........

Default Good Morning,

I think this computer move is working out great. I'm up early, gotta get my bike ride in as I didn't do it over the weekend. No excuse, just didn't do it.

Today's the big day, Alvin's appointment with the kidney specialist is this morning. Needless tosay I'm going with him.

Other than that today should be uneventful, except the fact that I weighed this morning, It is amazing how the pounds just keep falling off!!!

Good Morning,

Gee why do the weekends fly by ? I had a good weekend, walked about 2 miles yesterday in the park, boy oh boy was I tired LOL... and to think I used to power walk 5 - 6 miles a day, 6 days a week. Getting old sucks Had some potatoes and hotdogs on the grill yesterday mmmmmm. Eating wise, I think I did pretty good, well better than usual for a weekend so I'm happy. Small changes at a time is what I'm aiming for. I have my bagel this morning (thats my favorite if you couldn't tell lol) and for lunch nothing. They are having a huge party this afternoon for this lady who has been here for 20 years so my lunch will be at 2:00 pm...I'm aiming at the fruit, but I know I will take a sliver of cake (just a sliver ) so I will count that as my lunch. Dinner is Catfish ( ick ) I told Jim he has to soak it in milk to get that fishy funk out of it but he said oh I'll try it without the milk....ICK ICK. Anyway so I think I'm having a burger but he doens't know it .

Good Morning Chicks,

Well, it is rainy here in Texas and humid. I dropped my husband off for his deployment. So this week is going to be a computer week for me. LOL

I will also be checking on some baby birds that just hatched above my door. This will be the second batch of birds that hatched. They are so cute. I think they are wrens. Dont know really. LOL

Okay gotta run

Oh I wish I could stay and catch up. I have been so busy this weekend. DH came home for Saturday, left yesterday and is gone until 27th. Seems to be away more now than ever before. Oh, well -- one year, right?

Staying op. That darn book has me seriously thinking about becoming a vegetarian. Or, at least no beef (especially hamburger), chicken or pork. Or lunch meats; which are my absolute favorites.

I hope you all are having a grand day. I will come back later and catch up.

Talking Happy Moan Day!

We are having an extremely soggy morning again in Houston! Had me a bit worried as they're talking flight delays and changes due to the bad weather! Just checked with the airlines online and so far I'm still good to go!

Deb~you're starting to concern me with this grazing. Could you keep some precooked chicken tenders we were talking about-hard boiled eggs, simple things for those grazing moments that are pure protein? Jif, help out here. Would that help?

Annie~glad your knee is feeling some better! Thoughts and prayers going your way! Keep us posted!

Leens~You got my brain going too early this morning with your other thread! Make Jim soak that fish! It's good for you! And better than that burger unless you're tossing out the bun!

Tippy~Yummm, raspberries! I hear cobbler calling my name! Are you sharing? lol

sinnrah~are you getting as much rain as we are? I know that absent dh feeling. It's the only time I get to play on the puter without guilt feelings! Is your dh coast guard?

ageoldie~positive thoughts going your way! Let us know how Alvins doc visit turns out! Are you and scooby meeting this week?

samsgrandma~enjoy your day at work!

Sue~are you starting your new job today? Good luck girl!

Ok-for me, lots of typing for dh-the reality hit him yesterday how dependent he is on me for his office work! Gee honey, what're you going to do without me? Alot of errands to finish up. Sure dread doing them in all this rain but I am out of time!

Have a great one chicks!

Janice

Hi jenniwookie~we were posting at the same time! I couldn't handle reading that book. I'm know to have an overactive imagination and sensitive stomach when it comes to certain food issues! I don't want to know! lol Have a great day!

Default I Feel SooooooMuch better..

I think Alvin's doc appt went really well. He basically said that his kidney problem was not lifethreatening, and it might or might not be caused by the surgery. (As I'd mentioned earlier, he's been to the kidney specialist berfore) The said it might just be the natural deteriation that would have happended without the surgery.

But basically he feels it's just because he was getting dehydrated. He said for him to be sure to keep drinking all the time. Also he empathised that it's important for for him to eat PROTEIN to keep from loosing muscle. He actually said "So what if you have Protein in your urine? " That was what his PCP was so worried about.

So he took some blood and some urine and wants to see him in three months, but in the meantime, he said just to keep following the surgeons plan and to keep drinking.

Default Since I'll be hanging around..

Let me introduce myself.
My name is Sil. I'm new to this forum but not to 3FC's. Some of you are familiar to me but i will have to spend some time reading past posts to get caught up on ya'll.

I have done Atkins and Body for Life in the past. Right now I am doing my own thing. Basically low fat and lower carbs (my protein intake has always been OK). I am weight lifting 3 times/week and cardio 2/week (plus ALOT of yard work).

Sue~~I am also an RN (cardiac). There is such a great need for experienced nurses now so hang in there!!!

Debkay~~~I've talked to you along time ago. I live nextdoor to you in Auburn (between Dacula and Winder). Saw you guys were getting together at Stone MT recently. How did it go? I'll look up past threads to find out.

Sinnrah~~Speaking of birds, I had a wren fly in my house this morning when DH was on his way to work~quite a wake-up call!!!
I also have a birds box with wrens and one with Bluebirds that about to fledge. It is fun to watch!

Gotta go for now~errands to run.
~~~Sil
Sil, yes I remember now! We haven't met yet, it's this weekend, why don't you join us. Jiff, peachie, Janice, her friend from Houston, Sherrie and her MIL will be staying at the Evergreen at Stone Mountain, me I'll flutter in and out, my house is only 5 miles from the park. Everyone is coming in Friday. If you can't join us for the whole weekend, how about joining us on Saturday. Would love to meet you.
Janice, I do graze but it is usually on higher protein items, cheese.......things like that. Not always good things, but don't worry about me, I'll be okay.
Barb glad Alvin is doing well, and you, your just melting away!!! Good for you!
Liz glad you enjoyed your 20th reunion. I have never been to one of mine, my 25th is coming up. I started to go to my 5th, but I was very PG, had my son the next day, I went so far as to drive to the place the reunion was being held, watched some of the people walking in, turned to my husband and said, "let's go to Red Lobster." And that's just what we did.
