The ultimate exercise goal - I need accountability!
Okay, I have this gym membership to this wonderful and beautiful gym. I also have a package at the yoga/pilates boutique in my building. And, I maybe work out once or twice a week.
It's pathetic.
So, I'm told that in ~ 30 days a person can form new habits. I MUST make a habit of working out. I'm 27. NOW is the time to start making this life change and this habit.
I'm creating a calendar where I check off each day I work out. I WILL work out every day for the next 30 days. Now, I'm reasonable. . . it only has to be 30 minutes of SOMETHING. Thirty minutes of my day is hardly anything. If the weather is bad, I have the yoga boutique in my building. If I'm sick, I have some hand weights in my apartment. And, if I'm busy like I'll be on the day of my best friend's wedding, I'll go running at 7:00 am prior to our hair appointments, haha.
I will check in EVERY day in this thread to confirm I did my exercise for the day. It starts TODAY. I will work out tonight as my day ONE of thirty.
I read this and, in my mind, I am right there with you. But... and... then I have to... you know... because... its just... In case you haven't noticed, I don't just *make* excuses...I AM THE EXCUSE. There, I said it. (starts to tear up a bit). I told my husband, that with or without him, I will get up early on Monday (4:45 so that I can be at work by 7) to work out. Thanks for the boost.
Hi! I'm new here, but I was totally in the same position about a year ago.... I decided to keep an exercise journal (like a food journal) every day... on the days that I worked out, I put a sticker next to the date. I know it sounds really silly, but I was SO motivated to get my Tinkerbell sticker every day Maybe this could be helpful to you, too...
(it's kinda similar to how I really wanted to join 3FC so that I could have the little weight tracker thingy at the bottom of my posts... I'm motivated by funny things, I guess, but whatever works!)
motivation is an odd thing. It took psyhologists nearly 100 years to disover as much as tehy have about it, and i dont even think they have arrive yet. there's still so much that could be gleaned from what motivates us. Humans are so complex. It's beautiful. Hang in there girls!
This is an AWESOME thing you're doing Amberelise!!! I commend you and applaud you all the way. Before you know it you'll become addicted to working out. Seriously, it's addictiveeeeee!!!
Way to go! I scrubbed my floors on my hands and knees this morning...that had to count for at least *light* exercise...right? My arms and back are saying yes.
Amberelise -- can I join on the accountability train?? I'm a waitress with a crazy schedule, so I'm saying, and I'm committing NOW...that I will work out EVERY SINGLE DAY that I don't have a double shift. A double is a workout in itself because I walk non-stop for about 12 hours!!
TODAY (1): one hour of samba.
I am an actress and it's tough to get jobs the way I am now. I have a friend who is TINY TINY -- about 5'2" and a size 0. She is known at her conservatory as "the girl with the body" because it's PERFECT for casting...and she just talked to me about going to the drugstore to get diet pills because she's been a little stressed lately and has gained a little weight (one of her teachers noticed). Thankfully, I talked her out of it...but if SHE is thinking she has to lose weight...goodness knows how much I have to lose :-\
HEY CONGRATS AMBERLISE, i guess 30 minutes doesn't sound too scarey. I know you can do it, let us know how the ticker changes from day 1 to 30 i bet it's great good luck girl.
