  • Hope you all stay safe and inside through the snowstorm. It will give you more time to get on those treadmills and do some walking or exercises indoors.

Sharmenu-I had to laugh when I saw your jog-send-jog routine. That's great! A 5 pound loss is terrific! Keep it up.
  • Hi all...We didn't get hit very hard with the snow...only about 5 inches. Weighed in this morning and am down 4.4 lbs.
  • LOL Corrina...glad you got a kick out of my routine....I am aiming for an hour today on the treadmill....yes, same routine...I have done 40 minutes so far today....My goal today is 1 hour. I am now at 3.5 speed...up from 2.5-2.8.
Yeah Renaee!!!! GREAT weight loss!!! I don't dare weigh today....usually I weigh on Sunday but I am also one of those people that once I get going I weigh daily....trying not to do that until I can start jogging outdoors....and we rure ain't doing that this weekend. One of our major cities has an all time record breaking snowfall for that city....29.3 inches this am recorded....I am sure it is well over that now!!! Waiting for my boyfriend to get home....we are going 4 wheeling.....he likes it.....I would rather stay in by the fire but I would never tell him that!!! LOL!!!
  • Sharmenu...I would rather sit by the fire also....I only weigh once a week, on Saturdays. I think I would drive myself crazy if I weighed everyday.
  • Hi I am Tracy and I'd like to join your challenge. I started dieting last Monday and will weigh myself on Monday. I want to lose 25 lbs because it will mean I will be 1/3 of the way to my goal or that I will have lost a 1/3 of the weight. I've done well this week, I haven't cheated. Yeah!
  • Good morning, everyone! I'm Liz and I'd like to join, too! (And this is my first post...pretty exciting, huh?) I'll post an intro within a day or two. My problem with doing online community things is that I can get totally sucked in with my free time and whoa...a day happened with not much exercise.

Anyway--I want to get 25 pounds off by spring. That would put me out of obese and well into overweight. Into a comfy size 14. And it's what I think of as my sassy fat weight.

I'm tracking every bite I eat (myfitnesspal) and every move I make (fitbit). Planning on burning 1,000 calories more than I eat every day.

What else about me in a nutshell? I'm 52. (Eeeeeeeeek! I just said that out loud. Can you not tell anyone?) I have a daughter that's about to turn nine. I live in rural New York in the Hudson Valley--a couple hours north of the city. I like everything craftsy, and I just promised my daughter that we could make cupcakes together this afternoon so I'm looking for a small batch recipe so it doesn't turn into a cupcake eating extravaganza for ME!

Hi, everybody! Looking forward to meeting you all!
  • WELCOME Tracey & Liz!!!! Looking forward to
loosing 25# with you both by Spring!!!
I am looking at 3' of snow this am....have some light shoveling to do....lol!
I just had my eggs and bacon.....South Beach....my goal today is more water and an hour of exercise....will talk with you all later!
  • SharMenu-your doing great staying motivated and keeping all of us motivated too. Keep the momentum going!

Renee-great job on that weight loss. What an inspiration!

Welcome Tracy and Lizzie!! It is great to have you join in on the group. We look forward to sharing our weight loss tips, struggles, and successes together with you.

Rob-how are you doing on your diet? How are you doing in all that snow that hit your area? Are you digging your way out of the house?

I am still sticking to my diet, (since my M&M setback). The weight is still dropping but at a much slower rate now. I am glad it is still dropping though. There are so many cheerful and invigorating members in this group. It is great to hear about everyone's goals and activities.
  • Good morning everyone.....getting freezing rain here today. I hope Rob is ok. He's in Mass. and they had lots of snow with this last storm. I am so ready for Spring! Staying really focused on my portion size and eating a more balanced diet. I seem to have more energy and feel less bloated.
  • Hello everyone, and welcome Lizzie and Tracy. What a brutal weekend! I think that I've had enough snow this year already. When is spring? Lol! I'm stuck at 215/216. I knew that I'd hit a wall eventually, and I'm now stuck on a plateau. I've been through this before and sometimes it takes a while, then the weight loss with start again.

I hope everyone is doing well!

    Rob
  • Glad to hear you survived the storm
  • I am Human and I am cheating.....hehe....
or should I say.....I am humanly cheating!
Well I don't care.....and it is on an item I would never cheat on!
Homemade Beef Stew....my elderly neighbor made it and it is to die for!!
    It's like eating M&M's Corinna....and I love M&M's!! LOL!!!
I flopped....but it will not set me back......I will continue! I bought a new Adelle CD....well should say bought it again....I wore out the last one!....now it will be my treadmill music! I love Adelle!
  • Hi everyone...stayed focused yesterday and did not succumb to temptation I need to go the store today and pick up some healthy snacks. What do you all snack on when you need something to hold you over between meals?
  • Hey Rob, glad to hear your doing okay.

Sharmenu-sounds like your back on track, and with something good to listen to that will keep you motivated. That's terrific. Sure beats humming a tune.

I need to find a few more good recipes to make to have a bit more variety. Are there any vegetarians in this group?
  • Renee that is the hardest part for me too....
I have to snack on protein.....so I make an egg white omelet and add a few veggies and a little shredded cheese to it. I also have been snacking on air popped popcorn even though that is not a South Beach phase 1 item...The first part of this diet is the hardest! Once I get going though the extra cravings do go away.
