vickie, i'd love to get both slaw recipes. i'm looking forward to reading any other recipes you post, too.

kathy, congratulations on rejoining ww. you'll have a good loss this week no matter which plan you follow.

melissa, mexican food sounds good to me. i've actually been having polenta cakes made with jalapenos and chopped onion and some cayenne. do they count? dh is burned out on them.

we finished the tournament. i came in about middle of the pack. that's fantastic!!! i was the only female shooting. i kept up with the boys!!!!!

Vickie, what a great idea! I never go to the library anymore; I buy books, get what I want out of them, then sell them on ebay. I'm sure I waste a lot of money like that, but every once in a while I get some I want to keep anyway.

What is my problem??? Why can't I figure out what to do??? This is ridiculous!

I think one problem is that I'm not hungry, so I have no idea how to get 22 points in a day. I mean, sure if I ate at Schlotzskys and then had a few cokes and then some ice cream, and then some chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes with gravy ... I could get there. I guess the low-fat mentality is so entrenched in my brain, and nothing sounds good, and I have no clue as to what to take for work.

The silliest thing is that I've done this for more than 2 years! I should KNOW what I'm doing, but I feel "new" all over again! Whatever!!!

Sandra, woohoo! Keeping up with the boys is always a major accomplishment! Way to go!

I might try more polenta tomorrow, this time adding onion and jalapenos and probably Splenda too. It sure would be a great addition to a big pot of pinto beans!

Kathy-glad you rejoined, but I sooooo understand how you feel. I can give you all sorts of suggestions but like me, know the drill. We just have to work it. If The Core list better suits your way of eating and lifestyle, then use the 35 WPA for the 'treats' you like. Then you dont have to even worry about the 22 pts target range.
You'll do great!! Only room for one resident nut on this board and that would be ME
Will you have your mind made up by tomorrow.....just remember what ever you do you can do for a week and switch, so that's a thought too.
Good Luck on the decision.

Sandra, I've never tried the creamy one. I thought is sounded good so I printed it to try. The sweet and sour one is our old family recipe made into Core. I have to type that one in so it'll be a few minutes. Here is the creamy one.

Classic Creamy Slaw
Serves 6 (1/2 cup)

1/2 cup fat-free mayonnaise
2 tbsps white distilled vinegar
2 tbsps Splenda Granular
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or 1 tsp dried parsley flakes
3 cups purchased coleslaw mix

In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, vinegar, Splenda, and parsley. Add
coleslaw mix. Mix well to combine.Cover and refrigerate for at least 30
minutes. Gently stir again just before serving.

Sandra, Congratulations on your day. It's not easy to keep up with the boys! It also sounds from your menu like you had a great Core day. Bravo!

vickie, thank you for the recipe. i also printed some of the recipes you've just added to the recipe board. thank you for those, too.

i am very pleased at how today went both shooting and eating. tomorrow will be a test. we're going to dinner at a friend's. it's going to be ww (flex) friendly. i'm taking the ww dreamcicle cake. it's 3 pts per serving. i started to make your chocolate eclairs, but i think i've made them before and taken them to this friend's. i've never made the dreamcicle cake. i'm just hoping i can handle eating only 1 serving--and that this meal won't trigger a binge. i'll definitely let ya'll know how tomorrow goes. this is going to be a big test for me.

Vickie's Family Sweet and Sour Coleslaw

32 oz Slaw Mix (about 10 cups)
1 and 1/2 cups white distilled vinegar
1 cup canola oil
1 cup Splenda
1 medium yellow onion chopped fine
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons black pepper

Makes 20, 1/2 cup servings. If you ate every bit of the "juice" evenly divided, you'd get 2.4 teaspoons of oil in each serving. I never eat the juice, just what sticks to the coleslaw so I don't see it as a problem if you eat more than 1/2 cup a day. It is a fun way to get your veggies and healthy oil in. I tried reducing the oil even more (my family recipe called for MUCH more oil) but it didn't work. Hope you enjoy!

We like our coleslaw fine, so I buy the bag blends and then put the coleslaw and the onion into my food processor to make them very fine. After that, all you have to do is pour on the other ingredients and stir. I usually make the slaw at least 24 hours in advance of the first serving so it has time to marinate. It's very good for up to a week. I usually eat it until the date on the bag of the coleslaw mix.

Sandra go on with your bad self!!!!!! Congrats!

Kathy, it will be ok.. you have had a lot to worry about with your cute little pooch! Do you have your weight loss journals from flex and core to compare which one you lost more on? I have to be in a certain state of mind(what I call my health kick) to get restarted OP. It took me 18pounds of regaining to get back on... You have already started by going back since you know that helps you. Cheer up!!!!!

Vickie thanks for the cole slaw recipie, Im going to try it for our BBQ! I think I will have to take a tour of the library when I take the kids to story time.

My bestfriend came in to town today and a few of us went to TGI Fridays for drinks and all I had was some diet coke. That was a hard temptation to not get any food or drinks.

Does anyone know if all cocktail sauces are core?

Anna, all brands of cocktail sauce were checked as Core in my CFC so I think you're good to go! I've had a couple of shrimp cocktails since I've been on Core. It helped me through some "appetizer moments". Congratulations on not eating at TGIF's. They really don't have a lot of healthy choices right now if you aren't on Atkins. This was a big NSV for you!

I am going to have shrimp cocktail for dinner tonight. So, Im glad I dont have to count points for the cocktail sauce. I think this has been the first time I have not cheated the entire time I have done WW. I feel like i'm eating healthier foods than I ever ate using the flex. I have so much more energy right now, Do you think its because of the low sugars and no greese.

I hope you are having a great day today. The apple recipie sounds really good.

anna, i'm very impressed, girl. that took a lot of will power not to eat or drink non-core goodies. sounds like you've heard the proverbial "click."

vickie, thank you for the recipe. i printed it. it looks good. what does "nsv" mean? i feel sort of stupid here not knowing.

Non-scale victory....you know, any weight related accomplishment that doesn't involve losing weight on the scale. It could be looser clothes, passing on bad food, planning meals, etc.

Don't feel stupid. I just had to ask Terry last week what LO meant in her daily menu. I should have been able to figure out that it meant leftover but for the life of me, I didn't know what it was!
