How is Everyone doing? I just update my weigh in's on my first post so I haven't commented much on this thread. I'm 1.8 LBS from being half-way to my Goal Weight. Warm weather will be here soon. Good Luck, Everyone!

Hi Sweetpoison. Welcome back to 3FatChicks. I agree that this thread is slow moving, but there is another year long challenge that is more active if you're interested.

https://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chi...thers-day.html

It is being broken down into shorter segments from holiday to holiday. Feel free to jump on in if you're interested.

I am in a similar position as a older woman struggling to lose weight and get healthier while dealing with some medical issues, and it can be trying.

I finally updated my weigh-in. Somehow I am weighing in on a different day here than on other challenges so starting next week I am going to switch over to Friday to be consistent all around.

So far I have maintained all but 1 lb of the loss I had from the hospital. It is helping to keep me on the straight and narrow since I really, really, want to maintain this and continue on down. It would feel so wonderful to see the 180s again!!!! I feel that God gave me that loss to give me a boost, and the least I can do it work to continue on. It does take work, but it is so worth it to feel better and be healthier.

I just realized I hadn't posted an end-of-the-month update on this thread since FEBRUARY! So, here's my recap for May...and, it's the first month that I actually hit my monthly goal since January, so I'm hoping that means I will do better in June, as well. We shall see! How is everyone else doing so far??

5/13: 179.0 (-3.8 lbs)
5/20: 177.8 (-1.2 lbs)
5/27: 175.4 (-2.4 lbs)

End of Month: 175.4
Total Loss: 8.0 lbs.

How is everyone doing? I still struggling to get half way to my goal weight. I have been maintaining but could still reach goal weigh if I stay on my food plan. I have been getting to the gym some but not doing enough cardio. Good Luck, Everyone!

I really truly thought I was going to have to post a gain this week for the first time. I don't think I've ever been so happy to post a 0.8 pound loss. Way behind schedule for this month's goal, but I have 19 days left in the month to get back on track.

How is everyone doing? I have been doing awful this year. I'm changing my GW to 169 LBS. I won't be able to reach my original goal weight.

Good Luck, Everyone!

This week, I lost the most weight I've ever lost in a week (4.0 pounds). Even more than I did the very first week, when all the water weight falls off. Not sure why or how, but this was a GREAT week. I've been doing some reading online, and for people with PCOS, it appears that cutting a substantial amount of sugar out of the diet can help fix insulin resistance (basically reset the body's ability to process sugar correctly, like normal people do), but it can take a few months to get there, so for some people, weight loss can actually accelerate once you reach that point.. I didn't know that when I started, but coincidentally, that's the biggest change I've made, is cutting out all of the snacky foods, and thus, a lot of the sugar. I'm also eating a lot less bread and drinking a lot less milk, both of which have sugar. And it's been 5 months. So maybe that is what is happening. I really hope so. I'd love to be able to keep this rate of weight loss for a while.
