Hallllllooooooo, everybody.....we're in the midst, here, of some serious monsoons. Flooding all over the place, roads closed, people having to evacuate their homes...the worst of it is mostly closer to the coast, and I had to drive through about 8" of water getting out of the parking lot at work. It got better as I drove west, and at home the rain is coming down fast and furiously, but where we live isn't flooded out, thank goodness. Ooops. DH just informed me that it's SNOWING, out now. This is ridiculous. I guess it's too warm and wet for the snow to stick, though. At least I hope that's the case.
Ack!!!
Still plodding along with Wendie, doing okay, may consider weighing myself this coming weekend. I splurged some on my high calorie day (yep, had corn bread right out of the oven...yummmmm) but kept to my calorie allowances all week and ate a little more than I should have on the weekend - like maybe a couple of hundred calories more than I should've. Oh, well.
When I was in high school, I had a job in the kitchen of the local hospital (my mother was a nurse there). The dietician was this slim and elegant older woman (probably in her forties; that seemed like an "older woman" to me, then. Shows how much I knew, eh?) and I remember asking her about her diet. She swore by apple cider vinegar - drank it in a glass of water twice or three times a day. She added sweet n' low or whatever the artificial sweetener was back then, and she said it wasn't any different from drinking lemonade when you sweetened it. I guess it worked, because she stayed slim for all the time I knew her.
I've got veggies roasting for supper seasoned with balsamic dressing. I'll add shrimp (Presently marinating in the rest of the balsamic) for the last ten minutes or so. Having it over brown rice. I'm starving. It was a long day, with an abominable drive both to and from work.
Hi PT...Omigawd. I LOVE Chinese food! It's one of my downfalls! I used to get egg foo yung with pork...couldn't get enough of it, especially while I was on Atkins all that time. Now, of course, I've developed an allergy to eggs, which is sooo annoying, considering how much I always loved quiche, egg salad, scrambled eggs, egg foo yung (of course) and just about any kind of omelet anybody cared to make. Guess I overdid it when I was eating so many of 'em. But wait....boneless spare ribs, pu pu platters, egg rolls, spring rolls......yikes!
Oh, and I love Middle Eastern foods..hummus, taboule, falafel, shish kabob....and Italian food...and OH, OKAY. I just LOVE food, period.
Have a good night, y'all !!!! Stay dry!!!!
