Congrats Tinky! Another pound is great! I am in the 150s but I know what you mean because I can not wait to be in the 140s again. Its been years so that will be huge for me. I will even take 149.9 as my victory~!

Shannon go to "quick links" at the top and down to edit signature. I believe there are directions there on how to create your signature and then it will come up each time you post.

Staying on track today!

just curious- for those of you in the 1400-1600 range how do you break it up between your meals & snacks?

I haven't quite figured what works for me yet and I either have too many calories left at night or not enough for a good dinner.

Thanks!

Planning ahead is the key. I plan my menu for the day incuding meals and snacks. Staying within my calorie allotment.

I can't plan ahead. I am a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants sort of girl and I just can't make it work. I have a pretty good idea of the calories in different foods and combinations. And since I am on a tight budget, I don't have a huge food inventory from which to pull. I am eating a lot of the same stuff day in and day out, so I am able to keep things pretty evenly distributed throughout the day. Some days I end up light a couple or three hundred calories. But not too often.

Yeah... Like that was a lot of help...

So, on track, today. Had a good one yesterday, too. I am still unable to exercise. But I have upped my water intake a bit. I want to see if it makes a difference for me. If nothing else, I should burn calories high-tailing it to the loo all the time.

Another pound! WTG, Tinky!!

I usually try to plan for the next day the night before, but I don't always make it, so then I plan threw lunch, and wing the rest of the day, that is when I work the early shift 5am - 1pm. When I work the late shift 9:30 am - 5:30 pm I plan my day out in the morning, and when I work a double shift well lets just say it takes some creative planning but I usually make it. I usually eat several small low cal meals aday. Like rain I don't have alot of money in my food budget so I usually have alot of the same stuff over and over, but I like what I'm eating so that is not a problem, and I usually buy myself one treat to last me 2 weeks until payday, that I divy out slowly, and stay within my calorie range. This week I bought Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds alittle pricey, but very healthy, and will be like having a treat every once in a while.

Thank you, thank you for the encouragement!! It does help me. I will put in my totals on Monday. At this point I am taking whatever loss I can.

Shannon- Yeah I was 152 before I left for CA in September, I came back from vacation and let it all slide from there. Then I was plagued with a bad bad cold. So now I am undoing all the gain. I am about where you started at 171. It's pretty scary how much you can gain in 2 -3 months time if you don't really watch yourself! I plan on not spending my birthday being chubby. LOL
You have to copy and paste the link from your weight tracker (where you made it) and then put it on the edit signature area, like Grammy said.

Carcar- If you are basing this off a 1600 calorie diet, I would break down the 3 main meals into 300-400 calorie range each, then the two snacks into 100-200 each. Providing you are eating 5 meals a day.
I always make breakfast the bigger meal because I use up more energy to kick start my day. So if I go over the 400 mark, I adjust accordingly. I hope I didn't confuse you, but this is what I did when I first started. Now I kinda go with the flow like Rain.

Rain- LOL I am running to loo all the time too. I've even sparked talk from my friends about being preggers, but then they realize I am back on track and constantly drinking water. LOL

Slim- We both work early! Yeah I know what you mean with trying to be creative, I need to get back into the routine of preparing things in advance and cooking in batches. That used to really help me.

Ok gals, goin to get ready to work out. Not sure what I am going to do, since I am sore.

You all crack me up running to the loo. I have done it for so many years I don't even really notice anymore. It gives me a break from the computer and no one follows me their. LOL!

I used to break mine up like what Tinky suggested. Worked out best that way for me. That is also where the lower calorie SmartOnes or some other frozen meal came into play for lunch and dinner. I knew I could keep myself under control that way.

I figured out what my problem has been, my eyes are as big as my tummy. LOL! I stopped measuring for a while and because I decided to measure some things out yesterday I realized my portions were getting out of control again. What I thought was 2 oz was 4 and what I thought was a 1/2 c was a cup. So that means some of my meals I was eating twice as much as I should be eating. Lets see, two meals in one. HMMM! Why wasn't I losing again? Thank goodness I figured that out.

Well I better get going for now, tad bit on the tired side so I am glad it is Friday. Talk to you all Monday and have a great weekend.

grammy- I have been doing the same thing. Isnt is amazing how fast we adjust to eating more of this and that. I am back at measuring as well and also trying to exercise daily. I so want to be in a size 16 dress for my daughter wedding in 16 weeks. I will have to really exericse to make it. I was in a 26 for my sons wedding in dec last year and would love love to be in a 16...
holidays are coming fast and im really going to just not cook much during them. Hubbys sugar has been running higher again and i am going to keep sweets out of the house..sweets are not my problem food is....I love food!!
hugs to all

I know Nov. is almost over, but thought if I would join in instead of just reading it would help me get started again.

I also have a question. I tried the Calorie King dree trial and liked it, what other options are out there? What do some of you use?

Hi Southerngrl. Jump right in. I use fitday.com for my calories and exercise. I like it and have entered most of my own custom foods.

I'm feeling drained today. Don't have energy and don't want to exercise. Just sitting here like a lump on the couch. DH was up early and painted a few patches in the living room, did laundry and I think swept the floor. He even hung the towels up on the clothes line. I was in bed until after 10:30 this morning. I was up late working on the songs and carols for our church Christmas program and didn't realize it was so late until I looked up at the clock and it was heading for 3 am! Now, I'm paying for my indiscretions of late night riotous living.

Hope everyone is having a better weekend with a little more energy than I have. We'll see what the afternoon brings. Must go drink water.
