HOpe everyone has a wonderful weekend. OH i did great at our fall festival last night..I ate a 1/2 of a hot dog and 1 mini candybar.I was proud...When i got home we had pizza for dinner but i was to tired to eat more than 1 peice. We had over 350 people come thru the festival. It was a great mission project.

Great job dgramie!
And good for you, hosing an outreach on Halloween to keep kids safe. I've always thought those were great.

Hi everyone,

dgramie, it is so hard to be satisfied with our success. I always want more. No matter how well I do. I'll be happy with my success for last month, if you will be too!

Talking

Hi Everyone,

Would you all mind if I started chatting with you. It sounds like everyone is doing great to me. I have been counting calories for awhile now. I have only had a 12# loss since starting a few months ago, and part of that is water loss, but what I have lost is staying off. I am going to start going for a little lower calorie range starting today. I also am and going to try to get more exericise in.

I look forward to chatting with everyone. I am very determined to get this weight off before I turn 50 so I really have to keep pushing, as my 50th is August 31st.

Lets hope for a great month for everyone.

Wilma

Hey y'all. I'll jump in the Nov. chat thread. My calories have been pretty steady between 1200 and 1400. I'm really thinking I should do more than that since I work out 6 days a week. But I've just been SOOOO busy. I work about 50 hours a week. I go to grad school seminars 15 hours a week. And I've been doing some volunteering too.

Anyway, it seems if I'm at work with co-workers and we're busy, and need to get something to eat quick, it's "ok lets go through the McD's drive through or stop for a slice of pizza." I just say I'm not hungry because I can't eat that stuff. By the time I get home at night, which 3 nights a week is midnight, I have a slice of fat free Kraft cheese between two pieces of low cal whole wheat bread with mustard and a cup of chicken soup before going to bed. A whopping what? 500 calories?

(Ok I realize I'm just venting now) But it seems like everyday I get two choices: eat a load of crap because that's what is available, or come home and eat a nibble and go to sleep. GRRRRR....

But in any event, today is Saturday and after the chores are done (which requires me to get my butt off the internet) I will go to the grocery store. I will buy a pile of mixed greens and about 12 different vegetables. I will buy some chicken and lemon and grill it together. I will buy some eggs, hard boil them and remove the yolks. And I will mix it all together and have the meal of a lifetime! WOOT!

Hi Wilma. Welcome to Calorie Counters. You have already made wonderful progress. It will be great to get to know you.

Nods, if fast food is on the agenda, rather than Mickey D's or other burger or taco type spots, how about Subway? You can get a yummy, filling, nutritious sandwich for under or right around 300 calories. And you won't have to sit, tummy growling, while everyone else is chowing down. And you wouldn't have to get home and eat at midnight before you fall into bed. Just a thought.

Good November 1st morning, everyone. This is my favourite month of the year. I love the weather, the leaves falling, the shortening days, the anticipation of the holidays.

I am hoping for a better November than October. I had some not so great days, last month. And, this month contains Thanksgiving. I am not planning to do a big all out turkey dinner, this year. Instead, I think we are going to do family taco night. One meal of yumminess, no huge mess and no leftovers for me to munch on all weekend.

Have a great on track day, everyone.

I know it's still early, but is anyone as excited about Christmas as I am?? As soon as Halloween's over, I always get really psyched up. I mean, what, four weeks till Thanksgiving, then put up the decorations for a month of Christmas. I love it. This is the time of the year I've been waiting for.

Anyway, I figure that I've gotten through a birthday party, vacation, and Halloween so far without cheating on my goal range of calories, so I feel strong enough to handle the next two months that are normally spent on food, food, food.

Hi everyone. I just finished dinner (lunch) and I'm feeling drowsy and satisfied. Ha, ha. Hello to the new folks joining in on the chat.

Wilma, 12 pounds is really a good weight loss. Don't you ever put the word "only" in front of that again.

Nods, are you able to take along a few snacks to munch on at work? A piece of fruit, cut up vegetables, cheese sticks, etc. That would certainly cut down on the hunger at night. BTW, vent all you like if it helps.

Kelly, I'm always excited about Christmas. It starts sometime around January and continues until December. We don't do an extra big Christmas but I usually have a house party and sing in the church choir and participate in all the stuff Christmas brings.

I'm aiming at losing about 5 pounds this month but only time will tell if I do or not. I lost 5.5 in October so that's just about where I'm supposed to be in my schedule. I've got lots of Halloween candy left over because DH wouldn't give out the Hershey treat bars until there was nothing left to give. They're his favorites and I'd bought a box of 70. I'm so glad chocolate isn't a trigger food for me or I'd have to get rid of them quick. We also have some mini tootsie roll pops but one of those is only about 17 calories. I don't mind having one of those every now and then.

I've started wearing my winter coat on some chilly days. I hate wearing the winter things but I'd rather be warm. Funny thing, though, I was shopping on Thursday which was a nice mild day and there were people in sandals and tank tops going around the mall. It wasn't that warm. By the time the sun set it was more than chilly.

Time to go read to mom. Have a good one.

Happy November!

I'd like to join in this thread as well. I've been here (3FC) and counting calories for the past month. Some days better than others but mostly good ones.

I need to re-read the threads at the top of this forum because I think I might have my calories too high or low - I'm not sure. I was losing just fine the first 10 days or so and completely stalled for the next 10. A review is in order to be sure I'm doing this right.

All the best to us calorie counters looking to lose/maintain in November. WE CAN DO IT!

Hi guys, mind if I join?

I have previously counted calories in the past and had great success. When I stopped, I ballooned back up, mainly because I went out of control with eating late at night, etc. (I am a college student, after all!) So I am back for the long run. I need accountability!

Nice to meet you all, and I'll see you tomorrow!

Can I jump in too? I started my weight loss journey on September 22nd, but just started actually counting and recording my calories on October 21st. So far so good, I have only been going for 6 weeks and have lost 15 pounds. The weight loss seems to be slowing a bit but i know I could lose nothing one week and 2 the next so I'm not stressing it. I just wanna get it off no matter how long it takes. I like to ask a lot of questions as well so i hope it doesnt get aggravating. Good luck to everyone and a GREAT November to us.

I had soup for supper but I was longing to have a big slice of whole wheat bread and butter with it. I could have had the bread without the butter but it's not the same so I ate just the soup. I always had bread and butter with soup. Some memories are hard to lose...sigh...

Well, I went for a long walk yesterdy, and I did 20 minutes of the 10 minute solutions, blast the belly fat DVD. WOW is that an intense workout. I wasn't able to do all the moves, but I tried the best I could, and think I did OK. I bought the DVD thinking that I could at least work in 10 minutes at a time. I am enjoying reading everyones post.

Retiredone I know what you mean about the bread, I also love bread with soup. It is really good that you were able to not give in and eat it.

Mmm... I hear you. I love big chunks of fresh bread with butter with soup. My thing now, tho is soup and toast. Two slices of toasted whole grain light bread with buttery spray is ninety calories and gives me something to dunk and chew on.

Hi to our new CC members and welcome!

I am having a pretty good day, today. I am light on calories, tho. So a snack is in order to get me over 1200. It is rapidly cooling off, here and what I really, really want is a huge mug of piping hot, rich cocoa. With a couple of big marshmallows or some freshly whipped cream. I think I need to pick up some herb tea for having hot drinks at night. Has anyone tried the flavoured Celestial Seasonings teas? They have candy cane and sugar cookie flavours.
