    Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

Jerry was so confident. He knew he could lose weight if he would only knuckle down and try. But it seemed that no matter how determined he got, something came up to thwart him. Whenever friends tried to help him, he told them to leave him alone; he was going to make it on his own. How sad that some people try to do everything by themselves. It is good to believe in yourself, but not when that self-belief causes you to be less than you can be. Believe in God. Put your faith there. Whatever you find you cannot do, remember that God can do it.
Today's thought: Thank God for the gift of determination!

  • Hi Gang...
Just popping in for a moment to say Hi there!
    HI!

I walked 5 miles today (that 31miles for the month of May so far) and have been very busy in the home. Over the weekend: Joe & I bought a new Arbor (he is securing it right now before the huge storm due to hit here tonight) --- Michele... wait till I get a pic! You will love it! And we bought lots of flowers. The colors I have mostly are lavenders, pale yellows, pinks... beautiful! I cannot wait to take some pictures and show you all how much our gardens have changed and grown this year. I have allot of flowers for my pots to get planted - that's for sure. We had a wonderful weather day today Sunshine and 79* - just beautiful! The storm is just now moving in.

    Well, I must be going...
Joe is out grilling our steak and that never takes long.

I'll be back tomorrow to post to everyone after my Curves workout and T-Mill ~ I just wanted to check in today
    Luvs,

  • Hi! Just a quick post today. The snow is gone and DH came home safely. Now the grass is greener and it's gorgeous out. This week the plan is get out into the flower beds and get them ready for planting. Lots of bright yellow pansies and hot pink impatients plus the usual petunias for my pots. I also plant a little garden for fresh eating. Can hardly wait!!

    Talk soon!
  • Tuesday morning

    Good Morning CEers!!!!

I'm here sipping some hot coffee and waking up. Tried to sleep in but between the kids and the dog, I'm up. Well, I'm so tired this morning and feeling blah but have a very happy tune in my heart.

The Diamond Divas won last night 10-3!!!!

And we are now 2nd in our area play and will be going to the district play in July!!!!!

I am totally amazed!!! I knew we were doing well, but never thought we would ever go to the playoffs!!!

Today is lasix day for me, some rest, but have to get everything ready for the lake. Oldest DD will give the camper a good spring cleaning today since it gets dusty, etc in storage and I will get everything ready to load. We keep it packed during the summer months but unload it in the fall and clean it before storage. We like to keep it packed so if we spontaneously decide to go the lake, we can leave in about an hour. All we then have to pack are the personal everyday items, a few clothes and the refrigerated cold stuff. I'm excited to get to go!!!! I seem to get more rest at the lake than I ever could here at home. I think it's because I see all the things that need to be done here but also, being in God's world, with the peaceful lake, singing birds, little critters, etc... just speaks to me on a higher level. Ya know?

I am scheduled to go into the hospital next Monday night for my sleep study and then on Tuesday they will be doing other tests to try to determine about my oxygen levels, heart condition, etc.... Please say a little prayer for me. Thanks!

    ~Wilma~
So glad DH got home safely. I hope it will warm up for you and you can get out there in the flower bed.

  • Reba and Rylee! How cute! Can't wait to see pics!! (Hint, hint) Your daughter is a cutie. I'm glad they are doing so well. I bet she misses home.

I miss home today. I got a package from my family. My (generous) mother decided i needed a portable phone with a built-in message. She was getting bugged when she'd call and couldn't leave a message after i took that feature off. And she sent me a pair of pants, a set of towels, some lotion and body spray. Wow, i'm spoiled, and i'm almost 40!

I was really tired this afternoon at work and i'm having a real motivation problem this evening. And I stopped for fast food for dinner. OK, time to go have my supplements and then i'm determined to get some things done tonight. Even if it's just getting some laundry together to do tomorrow after work. I'm trying anyway.

I'm really looking forward to going to Iowa, i spoke to Mabel today and she's so excited i'm going with her! We're leaving at 8 a.m. on Friday and coming home fairly early on Sunday (thank you, i wanted to get home early). I'm pretty flexible so i don't know what we're doing or where we're staying but I don't care.

Sunny, where are you? Miss you sweets.
  • Good Morning!
How's everyone doing? I'm still having my usual struggles with WOE but did NOT have birthday cake at work yesterday. I am more physically active now that the weather is great so maybe I'll start seeing results soon. I've been cleaning out my flower beds the past few evenings and will be ready to put in bedding plants soon.

It's a long weekend here in Canada this weekend and DH and I are painting our bedroom. I've chosen a sandy/taupe colour to go with my black and taupe bedding. I hope it turns out.

Michele: It sounds like you have a great weekend ahead of you. You deserve a nice break!!

Gary: How did your dinner go last night? Must have been a bit crazy but kids that age are a lot of fun to be around. 2 Dogs?? THis coming from someone who I remember saying NO DOG. We knew they's wind their way into your heart. Waiting to hear some great stories!!

Sherri: You must be an awesome coach!! Congratulations to you and your girls. Praying for you and the tests you have to take.

Sunny: You're doing awesome with your workouts. I'm still a faithful "CURVEer" I really like going and like seeing the results.

eisenj: Sounds like your life in nice and busy. I hope your son heals quickly. What a pain and at the end of the school year.

Sprout: I really appreciate your devotionals. Thanks for sharing them with us. Keep us posted on how you're doing too.

Hello to Angel lover and Sami. Post when you can!

    Have a great day!
  • Wednesday morning
    Good Morning CEers!!!!!

I'm posting while drinking my coffee and trying to wake up. I should be refreshed but somehow I don't feel refreshed.

I have a full load today. One of my patients woke up Monday with slurred speech and difficulty swallowing and when I called the DR, was told while doing testing two weeks ago they found that she has a large brain tumor and it's inoperable and the DRS hadn't told her or her family yet. These DRS!!!! They changed her to Hospice, so I won't be seeing her today. That's so sad!!!

    ~Gary~
Hope your team dinner went well!!! Glad to hear those in 'Bama' are doing so well!!! Reba sounds like a good name for your new companion. Hope you can stand it with TWO of them!!! That should be a challenge!!! Found out last night that we are now FIRST in our area!!!! Yay!!!! I am so excited!!!!

    ~Michele~
Wow, that care package sounds like a real winner. Can you give my address to your mom??? Ever since my mom died 7 years ago, I miss those little packages she used to send us all the time. I used to think she sent some of the dumbest things. Now I wish I could open one of her surprises once more. Praise God for good moms!!!

Well, gotta hit the shower. Hope I can check back in later.

    Where is EVERYONE????? ~Sunny~Sami~Sue~Ceejay~DeenieM~Charlotte~Everyone else~
Hope EVERYONE has a GREAT HUMPDAY!!!!!!

  • A ??
    Good Morning Everyone!

I have a ? for you all. How do I get back into church again? I love church, but I get very discouraged when people I meet there play the "who's more spiritual than who" game. I've been to SO many churches when I meet people like that. I think it is incredibly fake when people I meet in church look at other people's problems, faults, etc., and not their own...and play things like their life(s) are peachy. I understand the church isn't perfect because it made out of people who aren't perfect, but I am truthfully burnt out on meeting fake people. At my last church members acted as though church was a popularity contest. Maybe I just notice it because I am a young mom.

    Thanks!
    Sarah

  • Quick Check in
    Hello Everyone,
Sorry I haven't checked in for awhile. I have been super busy - gone every night and busy with the family and home and finishing home school during the day. I've been trying to read and catch up on everyone! Seems everyone is busy lately. Gary - would love to see pics of the new lady in your life - Sherri, congrats on the ball team - I admire you for coaching the team - Sunny - seems you may be a "big loser"-haha - and that's a great thing on this site - As for me, I am still trying to stay off the scales and on the treamill - I went 14.5 miles last week between my Walk Strong tape and the treamill and since it is TOM I have only exercised Monday and Today this week (sorry Gary, know you didn't want to know that) but sometimes I just feel to exhausted to move during this so I've only done 5 miles this week so far. I'm still shooting for the 199 goal by June 8th - but probably won't see it - that's ok - my real anniversary date is June 25th so maybe I'll hit it by then. If nothing else, I am 100 times more fit than I was in January of this year! I couldn't even do 1/2 mile without feeling like I was going to die when I first started and now I do 4 miles in about an hour. I am even up to running 3/4 of a mile without stopping - 1 mile is my next goal! Well, better go - got to get ready for church tonight! Talk to you all again real soon.
    DeenieM

  • HI Gals-- Took RYLEE and REBA to the first day of doggy school (still have 1 more puppy school day) BOY what a chore that was-- a bunch of older dogs w/o any training-- made Rylee and Reba look like "ANGELS" lol. My nephew and I did it 'cause Angie had her BUNKO--
Well DD and her team lost today 5-0...shutout. She played and said she did VERY WELL! she was so proud of herself, her partner didn't have it today and told me so on the phone too..glad my kiddo held up her end. They lost today in the quarterfinals to the team they just beat in a close match to win Regionals-- I think the other team is better but we are close enough that the matches can always go either way.
Well gotta get some sleep-- later, Gary

    FIRST OFF...

    Welcome! SARAH ~
I am so sorry that you have gone so long without a reply to your searching question... I hope and pray that I am able to answer it with the guidance of our Lord and that you receive it in the light of kindness.

Personally I think that ANY church you will go to with the anticipation of finding those that are full of themselves or full of judgement you will see it first and find it without a doubt. Because as you stated we are not without fault or sin. So if you go to a church waiting for it to happen I can guarantee you --- you WILL find it! It's important for you to change your attitude and the way you go into a church - you cannot change them, but you can change yourself and how you see them. Go with an attitude of 'want' & 'thirst' to know the Lord not caring about what others think, but what the Lord thinks (He matters!). If you go with the attitude you have now - you are no better then they are. A church is a place for growth "in the Lord" and therefore losing yourself for the Lord not for people (you want to keep your character, just not bad behavior). As I stated... no matter where you go - you will find those who think they are there for the Lord and are only there under the *guise* that they are there for the Lord and are there to see how much they can gain. Don't allow those people to get in the way of you experiencing the JOY of going to God's house and getting your cup filled to get through another week... that is what the devil hopes for!! He will do anything, whisper anything, to keep you from going. Change YOUR outlook - go with renewed freshness and a want to know Jesus more - take care of YOU and all the rest will fall into place, you'll see You are NOT your brother's keeper.

I will hold you in *prayer* that soon you will find a church and go there to worship the Lord first - not caring what others "do" or "think of you". You KNOW that you are LOVED by the ONE that matters - GOD LOVES YOU!

I do hope to hear from you again soon -
sharing with us wonderful stories of your new church

    *May God Bless {{{Hugs}}}*
    *Always in Jesus*
