Dr gave me provera about two years ago at same dosage and timeframe as you mentioned. Didn't jumpstart my tom. He bumped it up for. Few days. Still didn't work. Made me feel wierd. Someone else I know used it and it made her feel crazy emotional but worked. I've heard good and bad reports. Good luck!

Nicoyaangel -- so how was lunch with friend and the gym?

SMSDREAMER2007
-- thanks. I worked HARD for that darn lb! Allergist was a bust -- have to reschedule. Ugh. I'll keep trying to break in. Or else find another office that isn't so busy.

Living with PCOS is weird. I'm not the only one I know who has it, but neither do immediate friends have it. So yeah, it's nice to have other people on the board who know what it is like.

nest -- hope the BCP adjustment goes smoother soon! The hormone wacky can make a person crave -- hang in there and get right back to it!

Rana -- Welcome back! Keep writing about your wheat thing. I'm experimenting too and would love to hear it.

JustSharing83 -- welcome! I've taken Provera in the past to reboot period many times. I actually recently went in and my GP says she no longer reccommends it and suggested just hop right back to BCP. I'm still mulling all that over.

But usually do all your pills and you will get the withdrawal bleed. If the 5 day version does not work you may be one of the people that need the 10 day. Previously my GP would give the minimum needed to reboot -- which for me was 5. But I've done the 10 too in the past.

There's a BCP thread here for PCOS people too.

My Check In:

Well, no exercise. But on track with the food log. Lower in fiber than I wanted but a solid -751 calories for today.

I don't care how slow it goes to rack up the -3500 calories to make it be -1 lb. I'm on the path and I'm going to nail that next one! PCOS be $$%!

Still no TOM, but endoc lab tomorrow. One baby step at a time...

A.

Well...I haven't had the best week food wise. I always started out great and had a plan but faltered a bit before getting back on track by dinner. In the past when starting bcp I gain a few pounds so I'm trying to keep that from happening. So far no gain but no loss either. I will take it and keep moving forward.

My longer update.... I kind of put it on the positivity thread.

I'm back from my travels again and only one more scheduled trip left.

I'm happy to be done with the traveling because I really need to get working at work and on my studies and on losing weight again. It's soooo easy to get off track when you travel.... although every trip I try to learn something new on how to handle it better than before.

I'm back to exercising and eating well and really hitting the weight with the low carb thing. I usually let myself have more "healthy" carbs like brown rice, but this time around, I'm really trying to get back down quickly and I'm going to do the low carb thing with more veggies and fruits and less grains than normal.

I've been reading about people doing the whole Primal thing and while I don't subscribe to the whole idea of it, I am intrigued and I'll see what I can incorporate into my diet/lifestyle.

PCOS wise, things are well, my period arrived 28 days like I was on the pill this time around!! So weird, but I wonder if it had anything to do with the healthy eating I've been trying to do... this past trip I was doing very low carb to offset any weight gains. Also because I've been reminding myself that it's not worth it and all those desserts and breads and whatevers I can have any day so I don't have to wolf them down now.

Just stopping in to say hi, and whine a bit...
My period decided to show up today, it's a few days late but that's nothing new. I'm on about a 33-35 day cycle. Not that I'm complaining about that!
I feel lethargic and whiney. I've been way overdoing the carbs. I had a breakthrough two days ago and saw a new low weight, then BAM! This morning I'm up 2 lbs. Most likely water retention, period, too much sodium yesterday, etc.
It's hard not to get frustrated. I've eaten waaaaaay too much chocolate today.
I'm a teacher, so we're gearing up to start back. I'm looking forward to going back to work so I can get some routine and consistency! I start almost full time this week, with planning and prep work, then next week the kids come!

its waterweight jess. I am almost certain of it.

My period came last month and was unusually light (3-5 days instead of 1-2 weeks, i normally go 1-2 weeks because i go so long between periods) so i am waiting to see if it shows up this month too. If it does and I go on say a 30-35 day cycle I should have it in like 2 weeks or so. Kind of excited to have normal periods, yet...kinda not :\ I like the having no periods part. Ive had more cramping this month tho, not hurting just like muscle twitches which is normally hos it feels on months that I have a period so we will see. Down this week about 2 lbs so far official weigh in is tomorrow morning so we will see.

feeling annoyed. virus messed up my laptop and when I reinstalled FitdayPC it would not read the back up. So I'm starting over. Ugh.

I'll suck it up, but MAN. A zillion recipes to enter all OVER again. Ugh!
