So I made today's food log plan. So far I'm on track -- had v8 and scrambled eggs for breakfast.

I started talking to myself all funny in the kitchen.

"See the bread? Step away from the bread. That is not your bread, that's for kid and spouse. You have eaten enough bread in your lifetime that one day without it shan't kill you. And you just made your allergy appt. You do NOT need this bread, your sinus congestion does not need this bread, you get all your carbs over the day, you don't need extra bread carbs... just step away from the bread... steer clear of the bread.... heck, hide the freakin' bread in the fridge so you don't see it on the counter there... step AWAY from the bread... almost out... there!"

And when I got out of the kitchen and back to my home office I thought "Boy, you are a nutjob talking to bread like that!"

We'll see what the allergist has to say about it. I swear it just clogs up my nose instantly!

A.

Lost 1lb this week even though I ate bad this weekend. My husaband & I were invited to a Rock Band party and I was sipping on Sangria & ate a ton of veggies with a ton of ranch.. We had skipped lunch, so we were famished even with all the snacking by the time we got out of the party.. So we stopped and stuffed ourselves with msg loaded chinese at mid-night. But I am still grateful for losing that 1 lb

I am surprised that weight watchers actually work!

Well, I didn't ignore it all day! Veered a bit off track toward the end and gave it up in favor of sleep. Kid plumb wore me out and DH did a Mcdonald's. I went with small fries and a cheeseburger at least for damage control and came out to -361 calories for today.

Not the -500 I was aiming for but I'm not trying to be perfect either. Just taking it one day at a time and so long as it moves DOOOOOWN I don't care how slow.

Bright side -- beat my kid bowling. It was neck and neck there for a bit!

Nina, good job on the loss!
SMS, I think it's awesome you're doing what's good for YOU! It can be hard when you have family members who try to sabotage your efforts. Keep at it!
astrophe, yay for winning @ bowling!!!

Wednesdays are my weigh in days and... drumroll please...... I'm down 3 lbs! I'm shocked, considering I haven't been exercising as much as in past weeks AND I had an anniversary celebration this past weekend.
It's just the motivation I need, especially since I feel like I've been totally stress eating these last three days... In addition to having a lot going on at work, I'm leaving today to travel to TN to help my mom pack up my grandmother's house. Grandma will be coming back here to AZ with me on Saturday to move into an assisted care facility. It's a lot emotionally, and I just hope I can keep my eating under control!

Hope y'all have a good rest of the week. I'll try to check back in but may not be able to.

I'm just checking in. This year has been rough and I went to my regular NP to talk about some things and she said I was overdue for a physical. I also told her that I'd like to switch BCP but she didn't feel comfortable with that but she did refer me to a gyn that she thinks is great. I trust her so I am going to do that. Unfortunately, my annual isn't for a couple months and insurance doesn't cover interim visits so that will wait.

I ate a pretty high fiber meal before my office visit with her and she checked my A1C and glucose. She said my A1C level was good but my glucose was a lot lower than she would expect so soon after eating a meal but it wasn't too low.

Anyway, next week I'm getting the full workup, tests and what not. She also gave me a little food diary that is based on exchanges. I'm amazed, I eat a pretty high carb diet and it calls for 8 servings of grains per day. I just can't hit that although I do overdo the fruit and veggie servings a bit.

Out of curiosity -- Nelie, what were her suggested exchanges?

8 grains, 4 veggies, 3 fruits, 4 protein, 3 dairy, 3 fat. I dont do dairy so I just counted those as protein slots. I usually eat about 6 servings of veggies and 4 servings fruits.

Nelie- I'm wondering what changes she suggested for you too, Can we have a synopsis? How is it different from what you were doing before?

Just checking in. I did really well today took made a HOMEMADE pot pie for the family for dinner, took 2 hours to make. Dough from scratch and all. I was good, I put corn and lima beans in it (which I don;t like) so that I didn't eat it hehe. Made egg drop soup and a chicken salad for myself. Though I did overindulge in my yoplait raspberry chocolate delights YUM! ate all 4 oops! good thing they were only 100 cals and 18 carbs (had protein in them too) each! Didn't go over my carbs for today *whew* 1 carb under 45% haha Hope you all had fun

I should also say that my NP didn't expect me to strictly adhere to the suggested exchanges but use them as a guideline. I had told her I was overeating lately and she thought it might help. Normally, 60-70% of my calories are carbs, but those are from the beans, fruits, veggies and some whole grains but usually up to 4 servings per day not 8.

The exchange diary is helping so far though because sometimes calorie counting does frustrate me. It is easier to say how many servings I ate.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I woke up this morning and thought to myself I feel a little heavy today ugh I bet I gained weight. OMG! I actually lost another 3lbs. That's 15lbs total so far! And that's without trying hard. I cut out fast food, soda, and walking more often! I am SO happy!!! Time to update my tracker!

My kid creamed us at bowling! She got a 124 where I got a 90 and spouse got a 103.

Kinda bothered with the allergies and the AWOL TOM but otherwise chugging along...
