Hi All,
I'm new to the PCOS forum, and happy to see that it seems pretty active. Hope I can lend some support and get some support to as we all deal with PCOS.

Who's here?
Me, 37 years old, and live in San Francisco.

How are you?
I'm doing okay, but looking for some much needed support.

What are you working on?
Working on losing 70lbs. I don't follow any specific diet. I try to eat clean whenever possible, and have a rough estimate of the calories I consume, about 1600.

How was last month?
Up and down. Slowed weight loss, and finding it hard to get my fat butt out the door to exercise.

How is your pcos management going?
I started the pill to regulate periods, and also help with PMS. My PMS was like a psycho PMS, major depression, migraines, and felt like I was losing my mind. The worst part was that I couldn't predict if it was PMS because having PCOS, I never had regular periods. I couldn't say "oh it's the 25th of the month, I must be PMSing". So Doc said pill would help ease PMS. Unfortunately, the weight loss had definitely stalled since I started the pill. This is a first step for me, and I really want to look into getting on this PCOS.

Who's here this month?

I am! I'm Cassie aged 21!
How are you?

I'm doing ok, bit sleepy this AM I just wanted to stay in bed LOL but eh, I'm pretty ok Happy seeing the scale go down!

What are you working on?
Working on losing this weight and working on the mental aspect of losing weight! Read quite a few interesting books on PCOS and weight management (and just pcos in general) got a lot of information and tweaking my diet/exercise plan to suit!

How was last month?
It was...it could have been better, not that great on the weight loss front and was defo stressful

How's your PCOS management going?

A little better I *think* my acne is clearing a bit..skin is looking a bit better, not a ton but a bit. Can't wait to see if the hirsutism will lessen as I get closer to 200 lbs.

I'm dreading the travel again!

I haven't lost all the weight I had gained in the last couple of trips... sheesh.

And nooo, I'm not feeling positive I can maintain. I'm going to be eating out every meal, breakfast, lunch AND dinner. I'll be gone for a week.

I'll do what's good for my IR, which is combine the protein with the carbs. But I am afraid I'll be back with more weight. I can't wait until I stop traveling so I can focus on eating healthy and exercising and getting all of this weight off.

ems81wales: Did you have your Lap. already? Hope it goes/went ok!

redbutton: Welcome aboard! I always love visiting our relatives in SF -- wish I could live there!

SMSDREAMER2007: Hang in there!

MY CHECK IN:

Bowling was fun, but I wish I could fit more exercise in.

I have a hard time keeping the carbs down eating out on the weekend -- I know I have to get a grip on it but when the weekend rolls around I want a break too.

All this eldercare stress and then dealing with my own fam... it's hard to keep it diet friendly over the weekend.

But I have to, otherwise I undo what I've done during the week! Ugh.

Tomorrow is my third WW weigh-in, last week I gained half a kilo, but I had just gotten my period the day before and I bloat like crazy so I'm fairly sure that was the reason for the gain. I will see tomorrow night I guess!
My boyfriend is away for two weeks, I'm having a hard time sleeping in the house alone. Every noise freaks me out, which is totally irrational because we live in an ok area and have locks and security screens but I'm just a wuss.
Made a killer minestrone yesterday but was actually a little disappointed at the number of WW points per serving, I though it would be less. Damn beans creeping up my totals. I also made a huge batch of sugar cookies to decorate because I've been reading far too much Sweet Sugar Belle, but I ate two to see how they tasted and brought the rest into work today. I like icing them more than I like eating them

Hi all!

Who's here this month? I'm here!

How are you? I'm ok I guess. Feeling tired and lazy today. It's PMS I'm sure.

What are you working on? I'm working on making healthy choices, portion control, and exercising more regularly.

How was last month? Last month was good. I dropped a lot of weight, exercised a lot and things went really well for me.

How's your PCOS management going? OK I guess. I'm taking Metformin and my periods are regular.

LaurenBelle -- Hope it is easier to sleep til BF returns. I know what you mean about weird noises.

ems81wales -- Wow 8 mos! Well, at least you have the appt made. That's one step closer!

1049jess --

MY CHECK IN

Well, there's some progress being made.
  • I made an allergist appt at long last!
  • I'm starting to feel some cramping/action in the left ovary after doing 2 capsules Vitex per day for a bit.
I mapped out my walks for the next 6 weeks and plan to earn another PALA star.
I rebooted my PALA acct to start the star.
I mapped out all of today's food to fit the plan and so far I'm on track.

I'll come back later after workout...

Hope everyone is having a good day!
A

So...I was doing great (as far as sticking to the food plan) until this weekend. Sorta got back on track today but only half-heartedly.
Tomorrow is going to be better, right?
Also, Dr bumped up my metformin by another 500mg since my insulin was still too high. A lot of nausea and headaches over the past couple of days. Hoping that subsides soon. Also hoping it will help get my body back on track so that the work I do (diet and exercise) can get a little better results.

Im still here just kinda meh. Sleepy, tired, annoyed, frustrated, hormonal..oh how I love you PCOS! LOL. Also love getting yelled at for losing weight (even though I need to for health reasons...jealous people). I've been on plan 9 days now WOOT! (actually more than that but that is when I started counting for my challenge) scale went down by a whopping 4.4 lbs last week WOW hoping to see something close this week (though I doubt I will see the same)

Never got to that workout -- my whole day got away from me with the kid and the house! Obviously I'm better off exercising FIRST THING.

But I stayed on track food log wise more or less. That's a solid -661 calories off. Go me!

My mother. I started at my highest of 320 lbs and am now down to 265. I only have to mention to my sister "hey, do you want these pants, this shirt, etc its too big for me" And my mother flips out saying I'm lying and I like my clothes too tight and that I'm going to plateau soon cause she always has or "I don't know why you are bothering to lose it, you'll just gain it all back" this is pretty regular. I think she is bipolar cause once in a blue moon she will say" you can tell you've lost weight" which is her way of trying to be nice and compliment.

Astrophe- I hear ya. You'll do better tomorrow! Don't you love kids? LOL

That's a shame your mom is projecting all her stuff on to you. Hang in there -- it's tough.
