S/C/G: 29 lbs. lost

Height: 5' 4"

Default

Hello all, I am doing pretty good on the food. I have had almost
no sugar and just the cutting out of that is making a difference.
I know I'm still drinking to much diet soda but I am working on
that and drinking more water. I have lost the couple of pounds
I gained when I ate to many starches and working on that to.
I'm certainly not doing a perfect program but it seems to be
working anyway. I have tried cooking several things on the George
Foreman grill I got from my sister. I have found the one thing
that really works well for me is grilling fish. I had never cooked
much fish as it tasted to mushy when I baked it in the oven.
Using the grill I really like how it turns out and it's not very hard
to clean the grill afterwards as fish doesn't produce much grease
to clean. For the first time I am following the "fish twice a week"
rule. Hope everyone is having a good week. SMW

chrgrl -- You are doing so well!

Chris -- Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, let's keep track
of each other and keep each other motivated.

Toni -- Hope things have turned around and you are not house
bound anymore. The winter blaas can make us a bit crazed.
Hang in there, this to will pass.

Michele -- Glad your back OP. Keep on going!

Monet - Good to hear you enjoyed the retreat.

StillTrying - You have found something that works for you. That's
terrific, keep it up!

Momoftwins -- I am prone to sinus infections to. Get well quick!!!

GymRat -- I am happy the party with the legal food turned out so
well. Who knows, maybe one of your guests will be inspired to
change their way of eating.

Mercee -- Five pounds is great! Keep on doing what you are doing!!

heartmom -- We all blow it now and then. The important thing is to
get back on program and keep moving forward. You can do it!

Solly -- Sounds like you had a great birthday. I'd like to be 29 again
to. For that matter, 39 or even 49. I'm stuck being 61 but I am going
to try and be the best shape I can be in by sticking with SB and
getting more exercise.

Sparkle, rubi, and anyone I missed. Keep working your program and
let's all keep posting and giving tips and being there for each other.
SMW

Hi All!

Well, cheated like a mad woman on Saturday-nachos (corn) with refried beans and some horrible cheese product, a couple of strawberry daquiris and then key lime pie.
I did not feel physically bad and didn't beat myself up.

I did look at my eating and decided I could be a little more stringent in some areas. Bagged the 2% milk and switched to skim (yuck), drank 32 extra oz of water, and cut back on my coffee. Although coffee itself doesn;' seem to stall me, I do like it light and cannot drink it black, but drink a lot of it. So one cup at home and one med DD (usually 2 at home, an extra lg from DD and then another lg in the aftrenoon). The half and half is adding a lot of fat so maybe that is keeping me from losing. I did weigh on Saturday, no loss and then today. Down 1.5 pounds after 16 days. I'll take what I can get!
I did review all my products and nothing is illegal but again, maybe too many starchy items though I am careful not to have two in the same day. We'll see what happens. I'll give it two more weeks but I've just never lost this slow on any WOE.

Thanks for the support and inspiration!

B: scrambled egg with 1 oz cheese and low carb ketchup
hot cocoa
L: beef and barley stew
1/2 cup cottage cheese
s: grapes
apple
D: sweet potato with lite butter and steak seasoning
homemade chicken salad (2 oz chicken, 1T canola mayo, a few grapes)
SF pudding
s: strawberry smoothie

i am pleasantly surprised with the canola mayo, especially because it's 45 calories per tablespoon instead of 90!

hey everybody - been away from the puter for a few days. Eating is going along pretty smoothly, I'm not gonna make my 10 pound loss by March 11 and the reason is cause of the weekends! Saturday I had a rib eye, okay, no problem there, but then a piece of cheesecake. Ate the entire thing.
Sunday hubby and I went to IHOP, did okay there, nothing illegal. Sunday night had 5 pieces of pizza. yep, I'm not ashamed to say it, I did it. But there was most certainly a time when I could have eaten an entire one by myself.

I don't have any problem during the week, but the weekends I just seem to lose all control.

I hope everyone else has done well. Have a wonderful rest-of-evening.

Good morning,

Dinner was good, I had a bbq chicken salad. It had corn in it but only a few pieces. Their bread was some type of all grain. It was good. Problem was, we could have had an appetizer or dessert. The other couple wanted the dessert. It was a very warm cookie with 2 scoops of icecream. Luckily, we split it 4 ways and left some too.
I have bunco tonight so I may not make it to the gym. Buth then I might try to sneak in a quick workout. Dinner will most likely be chili (she always has it).

Sparkle, weekends are my downfall also. I guess I need the regimine of the weekdays. I wish I knew what to do. Maybe we should start a weekend challenge or something. After I mess up one day, I don't jump back on track,I think I have to wait until Monday.

Mercee, on the 5 lbs. That is great.

Heart, good to hear from you. Join the weekend losers. We need to figure out how to get thru them OP.

SMW, congrats on your loss as well

Toni, glad you got out and got some food in the house. Come on you can do this.

Msrubi, glad you are starting to see a loss. Hang in there, it will come. Posts some menues and let everyone take a look at them and maybe we can see a problem.

Cgrgrl, you crack me up with your sweet potatoes and steak seasoning.

Better get started. Have a great day.

Talking Morning Everyone!

Good Gravy it's been soooooo hectic around here! I haven't been able to get on and read any posts in a week! Eating has been going pretty well... Valentine's Day I got a new car instead of chocolate!

Monday was my son's birthday and we went to Chuck E. Cheese and I only ate ONE small slice of pizza and NO cake! I did eat a hot dog with regular bun for lunch yesterday, but I was starving and it smelled soooooo good.
I haven't even made it to the gym in a week... I have GOT to get my schedule more under control and make some ME time to get my butt in gear!

I bought that treadmill the girl here had for sale, but it's not sitting level and the belt is tracking off to one side and rubbing the machine. Dave said he will fix it, but I'll probably have to wait months for that to happen because RACE season is starting up and he's so busy trying to get his car ready that he can't even think about anything else! Luckily the weather is starting to warm up and I'll be able to hit the pavement a few days a week as long as it's not raining!! That will work until he can fix the treadmill.

Oh well... it's 8:00 and the boss will be coming in soon, so I'm off to look busy! I actually have 3 new employees to process in this morning, so I won't have to try too hard to look busy! Then we have to go to the jail this afternoon after work and check the jail books, so I'm gonna miss the gym again cause I won't be off work before they close... I tell you what, I need a nap!

Hope everyone is having a great week and staying OP!!! I'm trying really hard... lordy knows I don't want BOB to have to run me over with the wagon!!!!!

Wow as I read here, it seems that all of you are doing so very well...that is so great! Congrats and Keep it up!!! (or should I say keep it off..lol)

I am down 1 more pound...that is awsome for me.

Has anyone tried the Walden Farms products? I ordered some and I am excited to get them, since they are fat free sugar free carb free and calorie free....I have heard good things, but as expected I am a bit skeptical.....I look forward to hearing if anyone has tried them here and if they are good....

Hi everyone! Just a quick check in. Business is paying for itself and Friday night pizzas for home and that's about it. At least it's paying for itself. I'm positive it will blast off once the weather breaks and the snowbirds migrate back north.

Derek's job prospects have come to a stand still. They all just seem to be stringing him along with 'we just have to wait till this contract runs out with the other vendors' or 'we are just waiting for approval from HR' and meanwhile, unemployment is going to run out before long and then we're sunk! The bills we have are more than he's making on unemployment and if it weren't for a hefty tax return, we'd be two months behind on the mortgage and car payment (first instinct...sell the car...but problem is we owe more on it than we can sell it for).

Anyhow...it doesn't seem like it, but I'm remaining optimistic that something will turn up. But there's about a 50% chance we'll have to move. The company that Derek worked for that laid him off said they may want to hire him back (of course, if this contract comes through or this other contract comes through) but they'd want him living in NJ. Not even the least bit familiar with the state to even start looking at houses there.

The other prospect is Derek just sent a resume to Boston University to be a photo lab technician. I can't tell you how excited I am for that. Imagine the opportunities for the kids!! Kyle and Shelley alike!! Once, again, though...not a clue as to where to start looking at real estate in Massachusetts and, of course, I'm afraid of buying a haunted house. I know, I'm weird.

Anyhow...not any time for replies. Just wanted to check in with you guys and give you an update. I'm glad the board is busy!!

Monet: Thank you so much for including me on your treasury! You're the first to include me in one!! :hugs: The girls in my Hookers team never include me. I've done two and totally stuck to a crochet theme and included all people from my team, but they never include me. They don't even reply to my posts. I've sold two items and one was to my mom. I have to relist everything like you said, but I just haven't had the time.

We went to Syracuse last night and drove through some lake effect snow! It was like driving through a snowglobe on acid!! Very scary!!

Okay...off to open the shop so I can stare at the walls. I'm reading a great book, at least and reaquainting myself with non-animated daytime TV. And getting lots of crocheting done!!

Bye

Good morning. Opps its almost noon. I'm lazy this morning. So I've dozed in the chair. For some reason this has been a hard winter for me and I'm dreaming of planting tomatoes and herbs. Sitting out on the porch in the sun. But its really not far away.

Solly-Thanks for the encouragement. Don't know why I'm having such a hard time. But I am. The chicken salad sounds good and I'll bet you had fun.

Tech-I'm so sorry about Derek's unemployment. My prayers are with you. When I hear whats going on in your life my problems seem very minor. You have such a good attitute. I hope he gets the job in boston. I would love to live there.

Stll- I can't wait for you to get the Walden products. I've been dying to know how they are.

Beth- good for you at Chuckecheese. Wish you could get the treadmill going.

Mercee- Howdy.

Well better go cook something for Steve. Happy day.

StillTryin - i tried the WF honey mustard dressing and i have to admit i wasn't very impressed. it was like pouring flavored water on my salad. some people love them, though, so you'll just have to see what you think.

Well once again folks...my hammer toe is giving me lots of trouble. I did a stretch of 4 days on the treadmill last week. Then on Sunday, I stood a lot in dress shoes and since Monday...any shoes I put on really hurt me. (OK I am vain...50 pairs of shoes, not a single orthopedic granny style in the bunch...lol) So of course no exercise unless I try barefoot on the treadmill.

You know what really steams me up, is that I know I really need to go see a podiatrist, and probably need out patient surgery on the toe and that will keep me off my feet for a long time, but the worst of it is I just dont want to shell out the bucks to get it done. Crappy copays, and deductibles and 20% this and that. So I try to just ignore the problem but I know it isnt going to go away <sigh>...

Meanwhile....hubby just had to have chinese buffet yesterday...I tried to stay with shrimp dishes.
