Hey Vonni, do you want an HONEST opinion about your food? If you don't, can I suggest you skip this post of mine?
Is this a typical day for you? And how many calories are you aiming to eat?
1. You're not eating enough to lose weight.
2. You're not eating enough during the day to lose weight.
3. There is WAY too much fat in those foods you're eating, nowhere near enough fibre, and where are the fruit and vegetables?
4. Why didn't you eat lunch?
5. There is SO much processed food in that meal plan - therefore, loads of sodium.
6. You're not eating enough breakfast - it's no wonder your metabolism is slower and you're not losing weight.
Here's my challenge for you. I want you to just change ONE thing. I want you to eat a breakfast that is filling, substantial, and interesting - every day!
My breakfast takes less than a minute to prepare, it is around 470 calories, contains all my daily fibre needs, and keeps me feeling full until lunch time. It's the one thing that has made all the difference for me in being able to lose weight this time around.
And if you're interested it's:
1.5 cups Uncle Toby's HealthWise breakfast cereal (262 cals)
0.5 cups HiLo milk (60 cals)
5 almonds (45 cals)
5 pitted prunes (50 cals)
Whatever fruit I feel like (strawberries, grapes or what's around - 50 cals)
Barb: YAY you're back! I'm so pleased to see you in here and feeling positive. Everyone here knows what it's like to lose weight and put it back on, but the important thing is you're back and in the right frame of mind.
Hey Gen - I had one of those days yesterday too
and one the day before! But a lightbulb went off this morning when I got up - feeling really irritated with myself and my lack of self-control. I won't bore you with what I realised, but I understood something I couldn't see before.
The most important thing, I think, is that we just move on from those "binge" days and jump back into those better habits we have learned.
Lindor we have to help you find ways to make food more interesting, and I will give that some thought. I hate cooking, and do eat more of those frozen dinners than I should, but I'm getting bored with them - and I eat them less and less often.
With the warmer weather, do you get excited about cold meat and salads? Are there shops near you that make interesting salads or other stuff?
Anyway - my next new housemate arrives tomorrow. She's only here for six weeks, so hopefully she will be OK! Knowing me and the way I am such an excellent judge of people, she could be an axe-murderer escaping from American justice
After my binge yesterday I feel bloated and awful, and I'm tempted to not eat anything today - but I'll proceed as normal and aim for 1600 calories, a walk, and plenty of water.
