Morning chicks!

I want to do nothing more than sit here all day drinking coffee. *sigh*

Well, yesterday was ok, I guess. I got 64 oz. of water in, 1756 calories (there was some late-night popcorn, the very buttery kind, or that would have been 1330), and there were 3.14 miles or 9084 steps. I'm going to see if I can break 10,000 today. I'm pretty sure I won't get any exercise today, because I work late, then I have to get ready for my trip to Cincinnati tomorrow, then going to the BF's. Like I said though, I'm aiming for 10,000 steps today, which will be well over 3 miles, so I guess I'm not completely shirking the exercise thing, right?

Food yesterday... I forget.
Food today... I haven't decided yet. I think I might make me a chicken quesadilla for breakfast, haven't had one in a while.

Oh dear, I just looked at the clock... I need to get moving.

Yesterday was an ok day for me too. I did fairly well on my food choices and not so good on water. And there was no exercise either. This is Friday, a day I look on with mixed emotions because I know that the weekend is hard for me to stay disciplined but at the same time I am so glad the weekend is here.

Well, being that dh is home today and I don't have much time I gotta go. I wish you all a wonderful weekend and most of all an OP one. I will try and post more to keep me accountable. LOL

Julie- Don't do it. Seriously- it's more harm than good. And any "loss" will be because you severely limited your intake- water weight that will all show back up regardless of how little you eat right after the cleansing/fast.

It sounds tempting to lose 5 pounds in a week that way, especially if the scale isn't moving, or moving in the wrong direction. Don't give in to that crap- do it the healthy way, and your body will thank you.

Ok, had to get that out while I could still remember everything I wanted to vent.

Hubby's having an equally bad week, so last night, after an OP breakfast & lunch, dinner was Fuddruckers' for a cheeseburger & fries. Yeah, ate the damn fries. I didn't want to go out, but we also needed milk & bread & ground beef, so leaving the house was unavoidable.

This weekend I have to find time to just chill out, connect my brain, get my support back in order, spend some time doing things for ME, even if it means hubby works and I steer clear of him.

Breakfast today: strawberry yogurt zone bar

Lunch: whole wheat pasta & meat sauce, and diced pears

Today will be a little busy, since the bovine & my processor are out & I'm covering 3 jobs...I'll try to sneak in later on today to peek in.

I did something to my foot at work yesterday, somehow. I think it might be fractured somewhere -- I can't put pressure on my foot without falling over or having unbearable shooting pains go up my whole right leg, and I can't walk on it for 10 hrs that way, that's for sure. So I called in to work.

No workout today. I can't, period. I can't walk, let alone run for 12 minutes and 2 miles. Honestly, I just want some (*&@$ painkillers to make my leg/foot stop hurting like this. I don't want to go to an ER, because that costs a lot more money, and I have no insurance. I called a regular doctor's office and they refuse to see me, because there's a 1 in 1000 chance I did it at work, who knows, so they refuse me. Ugh. Now they want me to go to somewhere in downtown Seattle, which I can't drive in, and I had to park like a quarter mile from our stupid apartment. >

The Lucy is not having a good day, here, people.

Anyway, food probably won't be bad, since I feel nauseated from the pain and I don't want to stand to make anything , and no workout. Oh, well. Could be worse, I guess.

And to update....

No working out for 2 weeks (as far as running/ellipitical/on my feet stuff).

I broke a little tiny "accessory" bone in my right foot. Totally clean break, just cut right in half. No cast or anything, just need to be super nice to my feet for the next 2 weeks or so, and I've got 500mg naproxen twice a day for at least 10 days.

The good news: I am medically REQUIRED to wear nice tennis shoes to work for the next 10 days!!! SCORE!!! (We have to wear nice shoes -- no tennis/sports shoes, no open-toed shoes, no sandals of any kind, no exceptions. Unless medical!!!)

Gonna do a little shopping for some comfie shoes either tonight or tomorrow. Have a shopping date w/ mom tomorrow.

Food has been good today. My breakfast was just an english muffin w/ a little fake butter. Lunch is shaping up to be a menagerie of the yummy veggies & stuff in my fridge! Yay!

Hello All!

It is a lovely rainy afternoon here....kinda cloudy and quiet and it makes one sit back and reflect on life and how I got here and where I am going. I was reading the bios thread ....and no, I haven't posted anything there.....(sometimes I just enjoy the freedom that anonymity brings). The one thing I noticed in your bios is that I am waaaayyyy older than all of you......good grief, some of you are younger than my children!....and the rest of you could be younger sisters or cousins or something. I'm okay with that......never have been one to get freaked out by a number......but the point I am trying to make with all this rambling is that you should all be very proud of yourselves and the decision you have made to lead a healthier lifestyle. (If I had only had the foresight at your age, I probably would not be waging this last-ditch effort now, and hoping to heaven that it is not too late for me) So......kudos to each and every one of you...stand up and pat yourself on the back...you have made a positive life-changing decision to eat well and exercise and, with all of your determination and enthusiasim, I know you will succeed.

Getting down off the soap box now.......

Lisa......Glad to hear you are feeling better ...and, of course, your whole system is out of whack because of it, so that is why you are not eating or exercising.....cut yourself some slack and give yourself a day or so to get back into it.

Jenn.....I read your rant on the Feelings thread.....you are certainly up against it at work. I think the "chilling out" weekend is just what is needed. Get some of that ME time in....to counteract the inequities at work

JavaTurtle....."letting go and moving on"...now there are words of wisdom if I ever heard them! It is amazing how we let our yesterday mistakes limit our tomorrow successes.

Hi girls! Just now getting my chance to post. I still don't feel so hot...I DO have an ear infection...it hurts!! But, I have had such a good day! I had a good friend invite me over for coffee..did really well there...and didn't have but a couple of bites of the cream cheese filled coffee cake! But, the rest of the day wasn't as good...why is it that when you are sick, you want soothing carbs?? I kept thinking that if I ate a couple of bites, that I would feel better...I just kept on doing that. Well, the good news is that I walked a ton today in spite of feeling bad. We went on a family field trip tonight...and it was solid walking. We had so much fun!! We went to a corn Maize (maze) and went on a hayride...roasted hot dogs and marshmallows...and then did the maze. My kids were in heaven! They came home filthy and exhausted. We went with friends, and it was such a nice time of fellowship for me! Because I stay home...I really cherish all my contact with adults and the "outside world". LOL!!

hello all

It is ye olde weigh-in day......and I actually lost a pound! This is no small miracle, as my eating has been less than on plan. All the extra activity this week must have saved me. Vacation has been wonderful.....soooo relaxing......and I am not looking forward to going back to work Monday.

Jenn.....speaking of work......I just read an article "10 tips for coping with a job you hate"...and somehow I thought of you. Check it out : go to careers.msn.com and click on Article & Advice on the left hand side. Then click on More workplace issues and choose the article named above. I think you will find it good reading.....as long as you are stuck, you may as well make it as positive an experience as possible.

Lisa......ty for the kind words. Glad you are a bit better.....keep track of that ear infection, as you don't want any long term damage. It sounds like you had such a wonderful day with your friends and family....makes all the walking exercise seem more fun!

Hello all! I still haven't figured out how you all comment on everyone's entries and how you find differnt fonts and colors. But since work is going PAINFULLY slow , perhaps I'll play around with the stuff I see at the top of the page. No, not the boobies in the ad (does everyone get the same ads?) but the font, size, color etc options.

As of right this second, I'm at 13.1 for the month on my miles walked. I should be closer to thirty. But I'm trying . I always have to add that I got in six days later than I wanted. (That's my "I know... BUT" excuse). But I'm still hopeful that I'll find a way to "catch up." It's a good thing that I'm so limited in my mathmatical abilities, or I'd probably get too discouraged and give up. See? I just turned that dark cloud, sunny.

My food and water has been on track (OP as we say in this biz) but I don't think I'm losing. Maybe I need to look at another aspect. Salt? Damn, it's making me nuts! What do I have to do to be successful at this? Cut off limbs? Puuuhhhleeeeeze! What more can I do? Who do I have to bribe? LOL

Well, Pooh isn't coming up this week end . So, I guess that affords me a "Mary Week End." I plan on cleaning house and exercising. Maybe organizing some files, crossing off some "to do" items from multiple lists and maybe inviting my sister to join me in some work outs. We'll see. Could be like a week end at a spa. Okay, you're right. Probably not.

Okay, gotta admit, I played with the font stuff and I'm lost. I'll just have to keep my entries small, plain and black and white. Sorry folks.

Java, I hope your weekend is going well. I hear ya sister/friend on what does it take?? Do I cut off a limb or what???

Lisa, glad your family is doing better. Just wanted you to know that those cupcakes you posted on the chicks in kitchen CAN'T be just ONE POINT!!! They are just too darn good! I was having a major sweet tooth attack last night and remembered your recipe and made them. Wonderful!

I am hoping that eventually I'm going to have all this figured out and let you all know the secret. YEAH, In my DREAMS! However I earned 4 activity points today. I jogged almost 2 miles!!!! It was 1.8 and I feel the burn girls!

Hi girls! Happy Saturday!...It's almost Happy Sunday - LOL! My day was alright. I did get in my 10,000 steps, but my eating wasn't what I wanted it to be. I was up all last night with my ear...I could not sleep for the pain! Today, I am better - I have started a stronger antibiotic. When I feel like this..it's so hard to eat just right. Hopefully this will soon pass, and I can get back on track.

MsRD - WTG on the 1 lb. loss. I am afraid to even get on the scale! And, you know, on "vacation" I always GAIN!! So that is double good for you that you lost even during your vacation time! Woo hoo!

Mary - How is your "Mary Weekend" coming along?? Hope you are getting a lot of R&R!!!!

Donna - I am SO GLAD you liked the cupcakes! They save my life sometimes! And, yes, just one point...due to the high fiber content of the pumpkin! Did you do the chocolate ones or the spice ones?? Oh, and I have a recipe for WW "snickers" bar that is supposed to be awesome! Do you have that one?? I'll try to drag that one out!! 4 ACTIVITY POINTS???? WOW!! OOOH, I am jealous!!! Next thing we know, you'll be telling us you're jogging 5 miles!!

Drag it out, Lisa my sister/friend! LOL I made the spice ones. What chocolate ones.... OH MY!

Donna, instead of using the spice cake mix, use a devil's food cake mix. You would not believe how chocolatey these turn out!!! You don't taste the pumpkin at all. Yum.

O.K., here is the Snickers recipe, although they are 2 points instead of one. They are supposed to be really good. I'm going to get the stuff and try them out!

Ingredients:

1 package Diet Swiss Miss Cocoa*
1 tablespoon peanut butter*
1 banana*
1/4 cup Grape Nuts cereal*



Instructions:


Put all ingredients in a mixer.*
After mixing up, then divide into 2 servings by putting half of the mixture on one piece of aluminum foil then folding edges to keep fresh.*
Do the same thing with the other bar.*
Now put both in freezer and have for a snack anytime.*

Yield:* 2 servings
2 POINTS per serving


I don't think you neccessarily have to use the Swiss Miss diet brand..I'll probably just get the generic and the generic Grape Nuts! My problem is that I often get the "sweet tooth attacks"!!! Have you tried the 1 pt. ice cream sandwiches??? Heard those were really good too!! LOL - just listen to me..... Hmmm......I'd better start racking up those activity points so I can indulge in some of these treats!!!!

Last week, our fearless leader told us of taking two pieces of graham cracker and spreading two tbs. of lite cool whip, wrapping in plastic wrap and freezing for a *ice cream* snack of 2 points. I thought that sounded interesting. Thank you Lisa for the snickers recipie. I'll definately try it. Hey Lisa, what's happened with our Braves???? I sure hope they straighten out tomorrow, if not they are doomed. LOL Have a good night!

Today is my baby's 5th birthday! I know I've mentioned this a few times on here, but I can't beleive she is 5 already!! What happened? When did she go from being so innocent and dependent to this beautiful little independent 5 year old who goes to school every day??? OMG!!! And this morning she woke up soooo excited that it's her birthday! She got a crown from school Friday (for her birthday) and she is going to wear that all day today!

Anyway...sorry for that rant! I just had to get it off my chest! When I downsize some of my files, I will attach some photos of my dear little one!

Yesterday we spend a good part of the day in the car and drove to a Civil War re enactment which my cousin's husband was in...he's a confederate Captain...in case anyone wants to know! It was kind of interesting seeing all the Civil War period clothing and people "living" like they did back then...in tents, cooking over coals in the ground, etc. Did a lot of walking, but my eating wasn't the greatest! I think I would have been ok, if hubby hadn't bought me (I know...I wasn't forced to eat it!) a Kondike Bar on the way there when he stopped for WATER (which is what I ASKED for!) and a pop for him!!! Dang him!!! I ate the whole darned thing, too! I was planning to have a little something when I got to the Cider Mill (that's where the reenactment was taking place) and I did have a caramel apple! Yummy! But I could have done without the icecream! The rest of my eating yesterday was ok and OP! I drank a ton of water yesterday, but still went to bed thristy! Geesh! I'm gonna float away!!!!

I'm keeping this short and sweet because I have 2 of my nephews with me this morning and we all have to get ready for church this morning!

But wanted to make sure I tell...

Lisa...kick butt with the walking girlfriend!!! Hope the ear is soon on the mend! I've never had an ear infection (thankfully!) but I can imagine how awful they feel! I hate it when my ears hurt and I don't like the wind blowing in them when I walk, so I wear a headband when it starts to get the least bit chilly!!!

Mary...I hear ya on the amputation!!! I'm right there with ya! But you have been doing so well! Don't give in to negative feelings! (Listen to me...I sound like I know what the heck I'm talking about!) Keep up the good work, chickie!
