I had my first measurement on Thursday. I guess I am pretty happy with my results..

3 lbs lost
3.25 inches lost (mostly in the chest area, hopefully I lost some of my fat back LOL)
.8 body fat.

Good luck and keep on curving!

I have been doing the south beach diet since mid Sept and "curving" since the end of Nov and so far have lost 44 lbs and had my first measurements since the 1st time I went to curves. What a difference. Since joining I have lost 17 lbs and a total of 16.25 inches. I am so excited and I still look forward to going. I usually go 5 times a week and am loving it.

Hi all you Curvy Chicks! I've been toying with joining our local Curves.. You gals really have me got me interested ...I had been going to a gym here but I think I need a structured approach and "someone" to watch me and take my measurements etc...I know all the curves are a little different..but was wondering about a few things:

What is the range of this "start up fee" that I've seen mentioned on some other threads?

What is the range of monthly fees?

Do you have to sign up for a year..or can you do it for 3 or 6 months?

Is it the same work out everytime - is there any variety?

I think I'm going to pop into our local one for a quick visit to talk with them, and check out the place...

Thanks for any guidance you can give!

I didn't pay a start up fee. I think you can join free now with a bag of food

What is the range of monthly fees?

I pay $39 a month

My curves doesn't require any time commitment

Yep it's the same everytime although you can vary what you do on the recovery pad

Thankyou ValerieJoy! I did it ! I went today.. and opted for the month to month membership to start off to see if I like it.. You were right, the membership fee was waived if you bring in a bag of food.. Our Lowes grocery store provides prepackaged bags of food , and I used my Greenpoints so it ended up costing me 50 cents! I had my measurements taken and it was a moment of truth .. but It will only get better ! Soooo tomorrow at 7:30 am I go for my first workout! The Curves group here really sold me!

Default Is Curves worth it?

HECK YES....That is all I can say about that. I have lost 50 lbs...30 lbs through Curves and 26". I LOVE IT. People there have become friends...and supporters...and we all have the same goals! It is nicer than a coed gym as you don't have to feel as though you are 'on display'.....can't recomend it enough!!!!!!!!! Thanks to God and Curves, I have my life back.
