Morning ladies,

I spent the weekend shopping, shopping and shopping and not much to show for it. I don't care if I ever shop again. Yesterdya we got pedicures and I got my nails done. Did not find the white top I was looking for. how hard can it be to find a white top. It is always that way when you are looking for something.

I probably won't be here much this week. Off Friday and 2 more days at the track and lots of work to do in the short time.

Peggy, you are truly blessed with a wonderful husband. Bisquits & gravy are my downfall also. Nothing better. At least you worked yours off.

Ellen, did you get your glaze figured out? We are missing you.

Chris, Hope you had a wonderful Easter.

155, I don't work at the track. I work for a construction company. In fact we do a lot of the construction work at the track here and in Lexington. We just go to the track one day with the whole office and then we are entertaining clients on day and I have to go along since one man is bringing his wife and have to entertain her. My DH & I will go Friday and maybe Derby Day. Friday is Derby Day for Louisvillians. The rest of the world enjoys the Derby. Acutally the whole week is becoming a Derby Day. It grows and grows. No one hardly works on Friday here. We have a big party to attend Thursday night and another one on Friday night. I'm already tired jut thinking about it.

Crystal, so glad your aunt got out of the hospital. Hope she gets better with each day. Hope you had a great weekend.

Ashley, what is the name of the spaghetti sauce you found?

Toni, where are you?

Bob, where are you hiding?

Got to get busy, Have a great day.

Hello -

I have read the SugarBusters book and I love it. I feel that someone the whole grain items make me want to eat more. So I am trying SugarBusters with my own twist, sort of lower carb sugar busters. Let me know what you think, my doctor thought it sounded great. He suggested SugarBusters.
Foods to avoid:
Sugar -Anything with sugar in it
bread * bread like items
rice
pasta
Corn
Fried foods

Limit:
Diet sodas
processed meat
Liquor
Coffee

Things I will continue to eat or use:
Fruit
Veggies
Greek Yogurt
Low fat milk

What do you think? Today is day one.

Morning All,
Another 2 lb loss to report. Yipeeeeeeee!
14 lbs so far. Probably would have been more, but I discovered a really, really, really good no sugar ice cream that I kinda ODed on. :-)
Have a great day all, hope the scales are good to you.
Cheers
Shirley

kclewis,
Your lists look good to me, don't forget you can have whole wheat pastas, that are really yummy, and brown rice (I add some wild rice in too, tastes great)
I'm loving this way of eating. I don't have anything in my house that I shouldn't eat and it makes it so easy to prepare meals. I know whatever I put together so going to be good for me.
Hope your first day is great!

Default i'm back!

I've finally found my way back to this wonderful board! Work and home life has been crazy since the start of the year. I'm so glad the kids activities are winding down. Unfortunately, work is just getting worse.

Anyway, I fell off my eating a bit after Christmas. But not as bad as usual I may have gained 5 or so pounds. I don't own a scale so couldn't tell you for sure.

About a month ago my husband told me to make him a list of everything he could eat because he was going to start eating SB too. I about fell over! I have been eating this way on and off for almost 10 years now. So I have just gotten used to buying two sets of bread..tortillas..pasta. The works. It has been really nice. My 8 year old had to eat her first WW tortilla this week since I am not longer buying white. She said it tasted different but dealt with it. I am really liking this. The only downside.....I can't keep pita chips around. Between the kids and dh they disappear faster than I can make them!

I hope everyone is having a good Monday.

Mel

Rice! I don't know whether to hug you or hit you! But I will opt towards the hug! The hit thought is two fold...you cook better than I do and I will have to cook this once a week at least because my husband loved it! The big old hug for it being soooo good and EASY tp prepare!! I have no idea how you came up on the recipe but it was the best sauce I have ever tasted. I did not have a bay leaf so I omitted that and the diced tomatoes so Kenneth would not have to pick them out...LOL. The mushrooms I put in the sauce ( no kids here to fuss), and I had two big bell peppers I chopped and threw in too. My thoughts were they would help the texture since I did not do the diced tomatoes. For my meat I used 1 pound ground turkey and 1/2 pound beef chuck. I still had to add a small amount of oil olive because there was so grease at all cooking off it! Oh and of course I used WW noodles. Very very good and I'll check to see if you posted in on the recipe board and do a review there! Believe me if Five stars are good I'd give you Six! Thanks for sharing this with us. Now I have to go look for to eat only one portion size! ~Peggy

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

Just running through to let y'all know I'm still kicking. Although, last week I had to wonder. I have developed allergies and they are killing me. Between swollen and runny eyes, a nose that is so raw from blowing, and a dizzy head, I worked 1 day! I sure hope I don't have to start having shots on a regular basis!

IT'S DERBY WEEK!!! I can't wait! I'll do the DERBY DRAW Friday morning and we'll have a WIN, PLACE and SHOW pot. I'm going to see if we can get a good POT LUCK going for lunch that day. I still find it hard to believe that these people have NEVER had a DERBY POT before now!

WELCOME to everyone I missed who joined while I was off somewhere sneezing! Glad you all are here and hope you stay a while!

WELCOME BACK to all who have returned!

CRYSTLE....how are my BEANS coming along??? Should I start packing yet?

I got a really good belated birthday present today. My Brother and SIL had been gone to California and returned the night of my actual b-day. They called me and to be truthful, that was enough. BUT...today when the Mailman came a calling, there was a card with a crisp $50 bill in it! I did put it in the bank this afternoon. They are THE BEST!!

I'm off to find some supper to cook for us.

LATER....

BOB

awww , Peggy, you made my day!! :-) I am soooo glad that you love the sauce as much as we do! I am even happier that it passes for SB legal, as it has always been an easy and favorite meal in my home of picky eaters! I like that you added the bell peppers, I will have to try that next time. :-) I will be happy to pass on some more of my favorites.

Solly..
The jar spaghetti sauce that I found in the grocery store ,(Shoprite), in the organic/natural foods aisle...is called Casa Visco. It is all natural, no salt or sugar added. The label says it contains 1gm sugar. 13gm carbs, 3gm Fiber. The website on the label is Casa Visco (dot) com I have been using it for making pizzas. It is really tasty sauce! Hope that helps!

Hope the rest of you are doing well and Sugar bustin'!

Solly...I meant to add that not all their flavors contain 1gm sugar. The one I bought is the Tomato Basil sauce.
Hope that helps..

Oh my gosh I've been so lazy or something. Just a little tired lately and haven't come on. All is fine here. Frost for tonight. Brrrrrrr. We're going to try to make our groceries last for a month so we did a huge shopping last week end. I may have to run into our little town for some produce but we've got a ton of food. We got a newer car. Steve bought it out of his Mother's estate. I love it, its a 2006 silver PT Cruiser. It's so nice not having to drive our truck all the time. Welcome to all the new ladies. Its so nice having you here. I wrote down the spaghetti sauce and will have to try it. Hope everyone is having a nice evening.....

Evening Ladies,
Well, I'm staying away from sugar but I seem to have developed a shoe fetish. 5 pairs of new shoes since Tuesday. Geez, I wonder if there are support groups for this? I went to the store on Saturday to get meat for supper and came home with 2 more pairs of shoes. What can I say the store beside the grocery store was having a sale. :-)
Hope everyone had a good day.
Chow for now

Good morning ladies,

Got a lot to do in a short time today. It is freezing here. Not the weather we want for Derby week. It is supposed to warm up tomorrow.

Toni, glad to see you. I bet you don't know what to eat first with all those groceries. Congratson the new car. I think those cars are cute.

Bob., Happy belated birthday. Nine days ago. I had an old list of birthdays, just haven't seen it in awhile. Hope you had a great one! $50.00 is a nice surprise. Sorry you have had such a time with allergies. It is bad this year for some reason. My eyes are driving me crazy. Looks like I am crying all the time. Feel better.

155, You are my kind of girl. Nothing like a new pair a shoes to lift the spirits. You can never have too many shoes. for your loss. You are doing great.

Ashley, you realize that the tomatoes have natural sugar in them so that is the source of many of the sugars. I have never seen that brand at Krogers (sorry BOB). I will have to try yours.

peggy, Now you have peaked my curiosity. I will have to make the sauce just to see how good it is.

Mel, glad to see you back. It will be so much easier with the whole family eathing this way. Good luck.

Ellen, (can't get used to that). How is your project coming?

Off to get a couple things done. I hope I have a winner today. With going 4 times this week, I will need some extra money from somewhere.

I need some help! My hubby bought some turkey breakfast sausage today and I noticed on the label is says..1gm sugar, yet the last ingredient listed is SUGAR! so does this make this non SB???! or is it okay because it is less than 3gm sugar.... I'm confused now !
Also, this might be TMI for some..but has anyone else been experiencing constipation on this diet???
Hope all are having a nice day...it happens to be Free Ice Cream Cone day at Ben & Jerry's today..and of course my oldest is nagging me to take them ...arrrgh!
Ashley :-)
