Happy belated Valentine's day to everyone. My husband and I went out to dinner Friday because I had to work Thurs night. He got me roses on Thurs, so that made me smile. I hope you all got something special from a loved one too.
I have been really down these past couple of weeks. I think it's because I miss my daughter who lives and goes to school in Manhattan. I just can't believe how quickly time goes by. I think back to when she was just a little girl, and I was the center of her universe. I also know that my 18 yr. old will be leaving for college in the fall and that's on my mind too. It's going to be a new phase in my life and I just have to remind myself that mothers long before me have faced the same thing, and they survived.

Now to the personal posts-
Solly- Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your cranberry bread and your dinner out.

Chrgrl- You have the most disciplined eating and exercise regime I've ever seen. Good for you! Congrats on the weight loss too!!!!

Gymrat- I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your cheat, and kudos for you for getting right back on track.

Momoftwinboys- Hang in there . It does take a while.

sparkle- Hope you enjoyed those rib eyes and your family.

Toni48- Here's hoping you get the heck out of that house and soon. You must be climbing the walls by now, which by the way is good exercise!

Monet- Hope all is well, and thanks for the well wishes with my MRI.

Mercee- I hope you had a great weekend too. Thank you for always cheering us up here.

Rosieinsa- So happy to hear you're working your way up on that treadmill. Baby steps. And like you said, at least you're not flying off it!

Msrubi- Don't get down. Sometimes it just takes some time and tweaking before you start to see results. Hang in there.

Smw- Thanks for the well wishes. I'm sure everything will turn out fine. You and I have to keep up with each other since our height and weight are very similar

I weighed in today and stayed the same 189. I'm going to try to start exercising regularly and see if that kicks it up a notch. Only 18 more days until Florida. I've never been to Venice and am looking forward to it.

Have a great week all-Chris

Happy Monday, hope everyone had a great weekend.
We went bowling on my birthday. My sister and her husband, niece and her husband, my nephew and his little boy. It was a lot of laughs. No one had bowled in years. Dinner turned out yucky. Didn't liek the food at all and service was horrible. Yesterday, my DD cooked dinner, fried chicken. It was good. They gave me a Chi flat iron. I have been wanting a good one.

That's all behind us. On to a better week.

Gym, I love you dearly. I wish I were 29 again. I think. No the big 55. Maybe I am eligible for senior citizens discounts now. Better eat all your points. That's not good either. How was your party?

Monet, hope you had a good retreat.

Chris, You will be surprised when you have that empty nest. First it is hard, but you start liking it and develop a new relationship with your husband. Then it's summer time and they come home. You think, yuk, I was liking my new life.

Toni, have you gotten out yet? Hope you are feeling better about yourself and back on track.

Sparkle, Yum ribs, my favorite. Were they good?

Chrgrl, you are very regimented. Good job staying on track. Smaller clothes is our goal. Congrats.

Kate, hope your headache is all gone and you are moving on. I would like a pill for food, so we wouldn't have to think about food.

Better get busy here. Have a great day.

Morning! No scale for me this morning. The retreat center cooks rather southern style, and I could just FEEL my limbs swelling from the excess salt! I will wait a day or two and keep drinking plenty of water...

The retreat was great. Lots to process and think about. The weather was pretty nice on Saturday, but rainy and foggy yesterday as we headed home. We stopped up at my friend's house, which was close to the retreat center. I picked up all my glaze chemicals and everything else I left up there. Then we continued south towards Atlanta, and stopped at my daughter and son in law's. He is the one that used to be a chef. He made dinner and we ate with them. He made a broccoli casserole with a whole wheat bechemel sauce, and ham. He also had made a rosemary bread that was divine...though I think it was unbleached flour. I still tasted it. I was pleased that it did not do a horrific number on my blood sugar levels.

I was sleeping deeply and dreaming vividly when Tom woke me up with espresso this morning. He is off for President's day.

TONI: I hope you have been able to get out! I can't imagine being trapped at home like that!

SOLLY: Your bowling sounds like fun! I am sorry the dinner was a bomb.

GYM: How did the 'legal' party go?

CHRIS: Solly is right...you get used to the new life and then they come back.

DTRMND: Congrats on not gaining on the vacation!

OK I checked my weight again and I am down to 178! I am so thrilled. I know I am not following the same plan as you all, but I have taken out all extra sugar in my diet. My rules are:
No adding sugar to anything
If I usually have splenda I only use 1/2 of it
If sugar (any form of it) is in the first 5 ingredients of a food I skip it
Since Feb 6 I have lost 3lbs just doing this.

Well finally Steve got out of here yesterday. Finally got our mail and went to the grocery store for us. I didn't go because I knew the hill was still so slick and I didn't want to have the soup scared out of me. I might try driving up it tomorrow myself. Hopeing today will thaw it a bunch more. The weather doesn't look to good for us this week. I'm trying hard to stay OP today. I'm just taking one day at a time. Breakfast was 1 egg, 2 slices of low sugar and sodium bacon and a piece of sourdough bread oh and a small OJ. Got to run have a happy day.

Hi Everyone~

The heahache is gone, but now I have a sinus infection so I am under the weather, but I know I will be back to my old self soon!! I made a great lasagna last night...no complaints from my children on the whole wheat noodles. I am loving Uncle Sam cereal so overall I think I am doing pretty well. Once I feel 100% I will be back at the gym...tonight I skipped my favorite Zumba class!!! I hope everyone has a great night!!! I don't know where you all live, but in New Hampshire it was in the 50's today and that was wonderful...Spring may be on it's way!!!!!!

Boy this is a slow Monday here. The day has been great. I had salmon, a baked sweet potato with steak seasoning and brussel sprouts. Pretty darn good.

Good Evening,

Phew what a crazy couple of days.

Solly and Monet-The "legal" party was awesome. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. It was nice to feel good at the end of a party and know that we did "good" I won't lie and say I didn't eat more cheese and crackers or sf ice cream that I should have. but at least it was legal.

We both took yesterday off from the gym to rest. I thought, due to school vacation I wasn't going to make it to the gym much this week. Well I got out of work early so I took Shane's class. He my best friend who is an instructor at my gym and also follows the SB plan. I only planed to take boxing, but he had to sub the weights class so I ended up getting a great impromptu work out.

I hope everyone is having a great night!! I might not be around to much suring the day but I iwll try to check in at night. Happy eating!!

Good morning ladies,

Made it to the gym last night. DD made hamburgers for dinner. It was great not having to think or cook dinner. No cooking for me all week (which is probably not a good thing). Tonight we are sampling a new restaurant (brew pub), Free dinner and drinks for only a contribution to charity. Tomorrow is bunco and Thursday's DH is not home so DD & I usually eat out,but right now nothing sounds good. Got my taxes together and vegged out ont he couch and went to bed. Had to get up extra early today and be at the doctor's at 7 AM. Made it to work by 8:00.

Monet, glad you had a nice retreat. Is your SIL not a chef any more?

Determined, congrats on not gaining on your vacation. Good job.

Chrgrl, I just noticed you lost 6.5 lbs in Jan. That is fabulous. Keep up the good work.

Still trying, glad to see the scale is moving for you. 3 lbs is awesome.

Toni, glad you are partially out. It was so warm here Sunday, surely you are thawed by now. Unfortunately, big ice storm is hitting here on Thursday, guess you will get it first. Stock up.

Mom, hope that sinus infection clears up quickly.

Gymrat, good job ont he party and the exercise too. I wish I had your energy.

Better get started. Have a great day!

Mprning ladies!!!

Wow I missed 3 days on the board and it seems like I will never catch up. Well I am glad to report I am down 5 lbs. I am now back to my current weight on my tracker. I am only going down from here. That treadmill was worth it.

Solly - Happy Birthday to you. Sorry I missed the actual day.

Gym - Glad your party turned out well and you were able to desugar (if there is such a word) your guest without them knowing. LOL

Tony - I am glad you finally are out.

Well ladies I 've got to get to work now. Have a great day all. Congrats to all the other losers!!!

Hello everyone. How was everybody's weekend? I wish I could report that I did well, but nope. Totally blew it..big time. But ya know, the only thing that I really enjoyed out of ALL the crap I ate was the cream cheese HUGE brownie. Everything else wasn't worth the gain. I'll spend all week trying to get off the gain. I was off yesterday. Got my bloated butt to the gym and did some killer cardio. My eating was pretty good yesterday. For supper, I made parmesean chicken, squash casserole, green beans, and whipped sweet potatoes. I normally don't make big meals cause I don't have the time. Yesterday was a treat. The parmesean chicken was really tasty and legal. Just use Good Season's Italian dry seasoning packet, Kraft's parmesean cheese, and garlic to coat the chicken breasts and cook in oven. I made a squash casserole using cheese and crushed triscuits. It was "okay." But I like my other type casserole better. I had 2 leftover sweet potatoes in the fridge- just scooped them out into a bowl, added some milk, splenda, butter, and cinnamon(heated up) and whipped with a fork. Tonight, Robby will be cooking. Probably have spaghetti(no noodles for me) and a loaded salad. Alright, work is calling! Have a good day.
