I am eating approx. 1200 calories per day. I really can't eat more than that and lose weight.

Default Count me in!

I have lost 34 pounds in the last year doing it the "hard" way, counting calories and exercising....AND I have kept it off!!

My boyfriend recently started Nutrisystem and lost 16 pounds in 3 weeks. I decided to try to make my own Nutrisystem plan. I will be using a combination of fiber/protein bars for breakfasts with fruit, a lean cuisine for lunch and dinner (with salad or veggies) and low cal snacks like yogurt when I get the munchies in the afternoon. I am also starting the Biggest Loser Boot Camp DVD.

My mini-goal is lose 50 pounds by the end of May. I am going on a Mediterranean cruise and want to not only look great but feel great about climbing all the steps in all the cathedrals I want to visit. I will keep you posted!

I just tried a healthy choice cafe steamer and I really liked it. Since I can become super busy with school these are an affordable way to get an easy, calorie counted meal in. I'd just watch out for the sodium content, but it is manageable.

Yep! I eat about one a day Monday through Friday. I work 13 hour days, so they are just a no brainer for me. Lots of variety (so I don't get bored) I don't have to figure out the calories and they are just so convienient. Of course theres gonna be more sodium then if you made something from scratch, but they way I see it- it's a **** of a lot better for you than hitting the drive through.
Like a lot of people noted though they do lack on the veggie front. So I will usually grab a piece a fruit and either do some raw veggies or a little salad to go along with them.
On days I have to work late and end up eating one for dinner I'll heat up some some extra (1-2 cups) of frozen veggies to mix in with them. It definately makes them a bit more filling.

I used to and I'm going to start up again because it's easier to bring in a small box of frozen food to work and quickly heat that up to eat whenever I get a chance to. Not to mention that it's easy portion control and easy to track the calories because most calorie counters will already have the meal programmed in.

Yes... I have dug up this old thread..... I was wondering if those who were doing the frozen food had lost their weight or changed plans..... I am really considering trying this (again) ... a lady at work has dropped BIG WEIGHT using them. She was 300 and is now around 150....looks great. I know it is not the healthiest route to take... but eating the way I am and staying fat at 233 lb. is not healthy either. Figure I could do this...drop the weight and then try a more whole foods with portion control type of plan...

Any input?

Vicki

I keep a few Lean Cuisine/Healthy Choice dinners in the freezer for quick meals when we get home late, or I'm too tired too cook.

Well I've lost the weight I have so far eating a ton of lean cuisine meals for lunch and dinner a lot of the time so I'd say yeah as long as your within your limit it's okay. It's worked for me. Why just today I had a personal pizza, those are the best.

I love Lean Cuisines, they are so tasty to me! I have a family so I have been cooking fresh foods most of the time, but when I get off a 12 hour shift and get home at 8pm and everyone else has already eaten, a LC and a salad or bowl of veggies is perfect! I also really like to use them if I'm craving something like pizza or a panini sandwich -- instant portion control and very satisfying to me!

I eat one for lunch about 3-4 days per week. They really help me keep my calories in line and I've found several that I really enjoy. I always add a cup of my homemade veg soup so I know I'm having some good veg with it.

I enjoy LC and Healthy Choice the most. I've looked at the Amy's but I always end up putting it down because of the cost. I may have to "splurge" on the spinach feta thing from Amy's.

Like others have said, it may not be the absolute healthiest choice but its wayyyy better than i was eating before!

Amy's is goood stuff! The price isn't that awesome but they're so yummy! So worth it once in a while.

Just bumping thread since I have incorporated frozen dinners in my way of eating for now. I am focusing on portion control and find eating these help alot I do add veggies if I like. I don't just limit to Lean Cuisines I also do Michelina's, Smart Ones, etc... whatever looks good. It's also much cheaper then Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig or any other food delivery service.

I drink alot of water and am not too worry about the sodium content it's probably not that much more then my homecooked meals I mean I don't know how much sodium is actually in my cooking I just season to taste.

Anyway just thought I'd bump this thread up and see who else is on here eating frozen meals.
