Danielle, what new fitness book did you get? I just got Jillian Michaels' "Making the Cut" on Sunday, but haven't read it yet. I'm currently reading "Fast Food Nation". I know I'm a bit behind the curve on that one (it seems like everyone else read it years ago when it first came out), but I'm still really enjoying it. I found one really interesting fact: Willard Scott was the original model for Ronald McDonald, but then was deemed too overweight. McDonalds wanted someone thinner to sell their products. Interesting when you consider how heavy the typical McDonalds food makes people!
Mom23, I am very proud, but as for how I feel, it's mostly sore

I'm going to spend a lot of time on the bike tonight, which somehow eases the soreness out of my muscles.
Karen, nice to see you back, and congratulations on the huge loss!!! It's so great when you can find a real life friend for encouragement. I have a coworker who's trying to lose weight, and we're always IMing back and forth about various diet-related issues.
Tina and Karen: I heard a great idea on one of the diet blogs I read. You have a potluck dinner with your friends, but require them to bring healthy food that fits certain calorie/fat/whatever requirements. Teach them to use DailyPlate or some other software to figure out the nutritional information, and have them bring copies of the recipes. Not only do you get great food and great company, but you leave with a ton of great new recipes! I haven't done this yet, especially because my apartment is a bit small for a dinner party, but it sounds like a fantastic idea.
Roni, we are definitely not "putting up with you." I love having you hear, as you always have some great things to contribute! Thanks for keeping this thread chatty
Ideal, I use Daily Plate as my primary plan, which makes me a calorie counter. I love it because it's flexible - I can indulge as long as I eat lighter the rest of the day. And because I log in so often, it keeps me completely accountable. I can't go way over without realizing it and making the conscious decision to go off plan! I've gotten really good at estimating the calories in foods now, too, which makes everything quicker and easier.
I'm down 0.6 this week. Not huge, but I'm just happy to be down at all after all the slip ups! Hopefully this week will be better.
Answer to this week's question: I was in my mom's tummy, still about 6 months away from being born
